This is a complete disaster now.
So. In portrait on my 12.9 pro, if I swipe my screen and let it scroll, everything slants. On my iPhone 12 Pro Max, if I do the same in landscape everything slants. Wtf. Once you see it you can’t Unsee. God in heaven help me, this is the end of me…

😂😂😂😂😂

guess every apple product with a screen should be recalled then according to OP 😂

If we all do our part & return these iPads citing the jelly scroll as the reason, we might get them to fix it!
Apple chooses to not record return reasons - that my experience instore anyway. 🤷‍♂️

Yes. Same here. I ruined my experience with any screen I am looking at now. Time to read an actual book or so. :D

You all need to get a kindle 🤣🤣

If my mini 6 starts getting on my nerves I’ll just show my kindle some love lol

If I need to bring a kindle on top of everything else I might as well just get a real book, that is the beauty of the Mini really. It can work as both a tablet and a reader in one, no need to bring multiple devices.

I hope I haven’t ruined my experience by hearing about this. I was looking for pictures of the colours when the reports came in.

unfortunately it's too late...once you see...there is no way back...

A little humor to keep things in perspective...

(sung to the tune of Rawhide)

verse 1

scrollin' scrollin' scrollin'
keep that jelly scrollin'
keep them posts a rollin' ...Go hide!
no time for understandin'
just fire a post demandin'
that Cook recall the Mini, don't go buy!

(please feel free to add to this)

compared to the majority of people noticing it on the mini 6.
You have no proof of that.

Do you have the mini 6?
I do. Love it. The panel being miniLED or OLED would have been nicer, but it is what it is, and worth the cost to me.

Go take it to a store that caries older iPads and compare it side by side.
Don't have to, I have several iPads of varying ages including an iPad Pro. I don't see it on any of them, but I have seen jelly scroll in the past on other devices. Of course I see it in the videos, but not in real life. (mainly because I don't scroll just to see it!)

It is 10x more noticeable than any other iPad ever made.
10X0=0

Was thinking about getting the iPad mini but gonna wait and see what happens next year with iPads
iPad mini 7 maybe?

Can we try and show a bit of empathy here. Just because its a non-issue for you doesn’t mean it’s a non-issue for others. People getting headaches and diziness from their sensitivity to this scrolling issue on the new Mini is not a non-issue in the slightest.

I too have noticed this on other iPads I’ve owned before, but never to this extent and never to the degree that I would have been motivated to post about it on a forum.
The problem is all the quotes about how everyone sees it and is bothered by it and everyone should return it. Your side could show some empathy as well!

As for you and the way you see, the change to landscape mode was a horrible decision on Apple's part, I get it, and can definitely sympathize -- BUT it isn't horrible for everyone. You should go back to the mini 5 or 4 and hope they change the orientation again next time. My Mini 4 is still a decent mini and would only need a battery change to be fully usable.

In the mean time, my Mini 6 is getting more use from me than all my other iPads, ever.

I highly doubt that there will be a Mini 7 next year. I was a bit surprised to see the redesigned 6 released this year (I expected a March 22/Oct 22 release)

If you're thinking about a Mini, I recommend checking one out in the store if possible to see if the jelly scrolling issue is distractingly evident to you. If it isn't... then wait a bit. I wouldn't be surprised to see a sale on the Mini 6 of $75-$100 off in light of the attention this issue has garnered.

As I've said a few times, I currently own a Mini 5 and absolutely love it but I don't love the new design. If I DID like the new design then I would upgrade to the Mini 6 even with the jelly scrolling issue present.

I think you’ve made your point.

no one is telling you that your experience of using the Mini is invlaid. If you have no issues with it then that’s genuinely a good thing. But some of us do, it’s not really that helpful to tell them they shouldn’t.
You're kidding, right, a lot of people are telling us our experience isn't valid with all these "Majority of people" quotes.

I returned my mini 6 because of jelly but don’t think Apple should do a recall.

Evidently there are lots of people prepared to accept lower quality screens and/or didn’t experience the great mini 5 screen and/or primarily use the mini in landscape mode.

So just take their money and use it to fund the design of a mini Pro which is basically a mini 6 combined with an iPhone 13 Pro Max style screen.

Everyone happy.

Job would never allow such "Jelly" product out (knocking), which is against Apple's fundamental philosophy and defected by industry standard.

By saying "LCD normal", "keep eyes elsewhere", "using landscape more", it is just irresponsible.

Our fans purchase Apple's products not because "just another Samsung or related", but because "you are the Apple".
Steve Jobs told people to hold their phones awkwardly because the phone was perfect, it was the human body that caused it's antenna issues.

Jobs was a brilliant guy but let's not pretend that Cook isn't cut from the same cloth...

Jobs might have blamed customers for the way they use products but would have never compromised on the aesthetics of the product itself.

Cook will gladly throw together any random assortment of parts to make a product with high profit margins. He doesn’t care for aesthetics.

For example take the absolute mess that is lightning versus USB. Cook is just going with whichever makes the most money. No consideration beyond that. Jobs would have made a decision that one is better and the demanded all future products used that.

I went today to an authorised store and tested the mini myself. Came to this forum and stared to scroll, I was able to see it, but I haven seen anything dramatic, gonna buy it as soon as I can.

But I have a question about it, is it only noticeable while scrolling? I mean, if I plan to use it to play Apple Arcade games, will I have any problem related to the screen refresh?

I very much doubt you'll notice it in games, and especially not in landscape as the issue doesn't occur at all in that orientation.
