What about some sort of document on the first page that you can add to, and that the DM keeps up to date. Actually, checking back, as we do have the character sheets to hand at the beginning of the tale, @ravenvii, is there any way of adapting the character sheets on page one so that they are not pdf files, and can be added to as a sort of wiki?

Hey, that's an excellent idea, actually. I've just made a wiki post -- go ahead and fill in your prepared spells @twietee and @Scepticalscribe -- I've filled in the information for everyone else. But from now on, please maintain your own entry. Thanks!

@ravenvii and all the players are doing a great job. Kudos especially for @Scepticalscribe who was very nervous at the start but looks like she is enjoying herself now.

Like SS, I don't have a google account (no gmail for me) and I don't use Facebook or Twitter :). My recommendation is that everyone edit their post at the beginning of this thread where they said that they would play and add all the character info there. That way, it's in the start of this thread for everyone (including the people that are not playing).

As far as changes, we have already suggested putting a status line in combat to keep track of everything. The only issue that I have that hasn't been addressed is better communication between the DM and players as far as if @ravenvii is still waiting on a response from the players. As an example, @ravenvii was waiting on a response from @twietee on spell selection and we thought we were all set and that @ravenvii was busy. I would like to make a suggestion that @ravenvii put a task line after his description so it's clear on what he's waiting on and that the players put a task complete line after their responses.

Since @Huntn is going to play, he should also give his suggestions.

I think @ravenvii already has agreed to this in principle. Just need to see it put into effect.

I'm not sure what character info is needed, as wasn't a party roster posted somewhere back in the beginning? No real need to go back, unless Ravenvii wants to update the original roster post. How about just a current party status update posted as a DM reply, send the info to the DM via PM if needed, i.e. start a MRs conversation and invite everyone to it, so as not to clutter the game thread.

I'd be happy to state my character name, but I have no idea where I currently am. :) As a late edition, I might represent a mystery, or are party members suppose to know everything a out me? I am willing to let this unfold as party member curiosity arouses, if that works.

The DM status update could easily include a party roster listed in Initiative order, along with current hit points, health description, wounds, enemy list including location and status, round number, who has taken their turn, expended their movement/action, and who is next. My impression is that the DM is tracking this already but ask him if publishing this info would be a burden? If not, I'm enthusiastic because we would not have to go back and review a list of posts to refresh ourselves about party and enemy status.

Can you see and edit my usual Ww spreadsheet (originally stonyC)?
If so, you would be able to access an equivalent dnd spreadsheet

Yes, I can see it and yes, I can access it. But not with any ease, I'm afraid.

For some reason, I do not seem to be able to format text - insert spaces, and that kind of boring stuff of that sort - onto your spreadsheet. I remember trying once during a WW game ages ago, and finding that it didn't work for me, and, as life is too short to stress out about that, I let others do it.

I appear to be a few posts behind. Can the status sheet wiki post be only edited by party members?
No, I don't see a way to enforce that. I'll just hope people are nice and leave the wiki alone (I'm hoping it'd drop like a rock down the page and into oblivion, easily accessible only by the OP of this post). In other words, please don't reply in that thread! :)

But if someone does edit it inappropriately, it's all in the history -- we can just revert it.

Thanks for starting the wiki, @ravenvii. Much appreciated. As I am not entirely sure of what I am doing, I will need frequent instructions and prompts as to what should be entered on that page, but it is very well done, and should make things somewhat clearer to one and all.

By way of contrast, the old EW games - while lengthy in terms of passage of time never required this degree of work; I had to track back several pages to refresh my memory on just what spells I had prepared.

Here's how- use a Macrumors Private conversation. All party members can be invited and it works just like a forum post.

I'll definitely inform the player if anything changes to their status, no worries. And hopefully it'll be easier from now on!

Thanks for the idea, looks like it'll do the job!

Looks like we're all set -- I'll proceed with the adventure in a few...

Can a private conversation be a wiki post? EDIT: Just tried -- nope, unfortunately. Would've been gret if possible! Oh well.

Alright, I have now added the four spells I have prepared to the wiki post at the start of this thread. That is four prepared spells (which I am allowed) for the two slots of use.

Remind me again, please about what Arcane Recovery entails.

CRAGMAW HIDEOUT

Following the goblins' trail, you come across a large cave in in a hillside five miles from from the scene of the ambush. A shallow stream flows out of the cave mouth, which is screened by dense briar thickets. A narrow dry path leads into the cave on the right-hand side of the stream.

You see that the only way to enter the cave is to across the shallow stream to the other side onto the narrow dry path.

@twietee @Scepticalscribe @Don't panic @Moyank24 @Plutonius what do you do?

did you look at the PDF fillable file i posted for you a few posts back? that should be helpful for both you and twietee.

@ravenvii, Does the cave appear to be illuminated or do we think we will need a light source ?

From your vantage point, you cannot quite tell. You could only see the far wall of the side of the cavern, and it appears to be dark. However, the goblins do not have especially strong vision in darkness, so it stands to reason that the cavern will be illuminated to some degree.

Checking through the equipment list on the Wiki, I think Portia's arrow count might be off (she used one) and I didn't see Veit's tobacco hoard :). I'm also curious how the GP was determined for each character (I couldn't see any gold on the PDF character sheets).

Say to Portia: Portia (@Moyank24), can you please sneak forward and scout out the cave entrance. Be careful though since the goblins might have put a trap in the stream near the cave entrance.

the gold is on the character's sheets under 'gp'

@ravenvii are you going to be exact with the arrows? do we have to specify we retrieve them, and how many? it's fine either way just to know how to behave later on.
btw, i have the 5 arrows because i had specified earlier on i picked them from the retrieved ones.

Is that the post where you mentioned your (amended WW) chart?

If so, I was never able to access that with any degree of ease. Read it, yes, and found it helpful, but add to it, no. Tried once, and found it inexplicable and impossible.

And - given that I attempted - just this evening - to insert a gormless brief cell under my own name in the WW example, and found I couldn't format it - I confess that I have little confidence in that.

I will scout it out like the stealth ninja-rogue I am!

*Raven, do I have to give a specific command?

Yeah, I'll pay more attention to that during future battles. Fixed Portia's arrow count -- she has 19 now.

Wait did anybody snatch up my tobacco while I was busy tying up that goblin!?

Alright, I'm going in second. Please don't gear up into your super-fast ninja mode so I can still see you perfectly fine with my 20/20 vision. Master Fletcher, you might want to come in after me with your deadly longbow?

Respond to Veit: We should let her scout the entrance of the cave by herself since she is less likely to be seen if she is by herself. Once we know what is in the entrance, we can enter the cave and decide what to do.

Well, that didn't go too well last time around but hey, no risk no fun so why not.
