Well, just updating here. It was shipped and sent to Memphis for clearance. Was supposed to be delivered by 12pm Wed and wasn't. Got into the local place and then was told they didn't have the apartment number on it. Which is ridiculous, because I know Apple had it on there, while it was in transit because it was international, FedEx had to reroute my call to several places and not one of them said anything about a missing apt #. Apple assured me they contacted FedEx to ensure the apt # was there. (Wed/Thursday)

On top of that, I got a phone call from the local place Friday still saying they had no apt #, on top of that, this FedEx regional hub was CLOSED! Seriously? What the heck...... GRRRRRR

Had to go and pick up from FedEx. At least the guy was easy going, understood about the apartment #.

They sent me the wrong one. I got 32GB of RAM instead of the 64. I'm not happy but need it for work. So I can't be down another 2+ months. GRRRRR

If it helps I have a 32 GB Max and this thing can handle everything I throw at it with ease. I've never seen red on the memory pressure, only yellow so far. Even with VMs (Parallels) running it doesn't slow down. YMMV.

I thought I needed 64 GB for future proofing but the standard is still below 32 GB at this time, so we have some years to go.

I don't know we shall see. So far vs my base 2019 it's screaming. I was killing the last one just opening a program (NeuTrace) for very instensive 3D rendering/mapping.

So far I'm really enjoying setting this thing up and have been blown away with everything it has and they have done.

Does anyone know if estimates are based on location as well? Obviously shipping time will have an effect. For example, if someone in the US brought the exact same BTO as someone in the UK at the same time, should they ship at roughly the same time, or are there different “queues“ per region?

Mine is now in the hands of FedEx. Looks like a pretty slow delivery time though, scheduled delivery is a week from today. It departed Shanghai about an hour ago.

My Maxed out Mac Studio ordered March 8 was projected by Apple to arrive starting May 4. Apple still shows this origninal date. I have received texts from UPS saying that it is expected to arrive early, tomorrow April 25, although UPS shows it still in Hong Kong

My Studio Display with tilt/height still shows an Apple projected delivery April 22-29, two weeks after the first projected shipping date. It arrived yesterday, on the 23rd, shipped from Sacramento California.

It looks like both Apple and UPS delivery statuses are not getting updated. Puzzled why UPS is sending me texts saying delivery is tomorrow when their website shows the monitor is in Hong Kong.

Just got charged for my Standard Glass Tilt/Height Adj ASD -- still in processing to hopefully moves to "Preparing to ship" soon!
Ordered 3/8. Current date range is 5/20 - 5/27 after getting delayed a couple times

Looks as if my wait is finally over. Maxed out Mac Studio arrived a week earlier than the initial projected date on March 8 and has been sitting in its box as I have no monitor. The Sacramento shipment as it turns out was the iMac trade-in packaging. Studio Display standard Glass/Tilt also ordered on March 8 after 2 delays is arriving in the middle of the 2nd delay period - tomorrow. Interestingly enough it shipped from Southern California.

I wonder how these backorders will affect the release of new Apple Silicon Macs.

Got a nice surprise this morning, a dispatch notification from Apple. MacBook Pro 16" 10c 32gpu 64GB 2TB (future proofing at its best), picked up from Shanghai today.

Ordered the 3rd April
Original dates of 9th - 16th May
Bumped to 29 Jun - 12 Jul
Shipped 27th May

Delivery estimate is the 7th Jun, but as I would assume it's coming by air, hopefully it will be quicker.

Delivered today.

I was getting worried as the tracking was still showing as picked up yesterday, but after a bit of Google'ing, it seems that China don't allow more granular tracking details to be displayed as it moves around within China. If that is true, I never knew that before.

Hopefully everyone else get's their order soon.

If so that's new I remember I used to see a couple jumps on orders from china, even when ordering from say HP.
