I got the U3223QE today as well, as other users said on this forum the IPS glow in the bottom of the monitor is always there.

But only really noticeable in a dark room with black animations.

If you look the second picture, the image quality and colors are really good. I’m right now trying to decide if I will keep it or return it.

##Edit: One issue I'm having with the Satechi TB4 dock, the monitor doesn't wake up after sleep. It keeps doing a loop searching for signal.

Same for my 31.5" Display.

Cannot understand why they promote it as "IPS Black" Technology? It's not that black as I expected. I'm not really convinced yet.

In my eyes there is more IPS glow than with LG Ergo UN880 displays...

all IPS monitors have glow, unless you use your monitor under a phone camera

Well, I found the Mac Dell Display Manager a kind of useless and seems having privacy issues. Got the UP2720q few days ago, the "professional" one with integrated hardware calibration, still not decided to keep it or not.
Today I tried the Mac Display Manager on my 2018 MBP. First, when first run it asked to allow access to Screen Recording and Accessibility to control the Mac, two security/privacy settings.

There is no other app I have to use Screen Recording, not sure why Dell needs it. However I decided to allow this in order to see how it works. The idea was to use its KVM feature. Unfortunately the Mac version of the DDM has no KVM, so it is not possible to share mouse, keyboard or any USB drive between two computers connected to the monitor.

Than, I could not find any useful feature in DDM, split screen or inputs switch is also easy in OSD menu.

There are also a kind of annoying rectangles popping up on screen each time the mouse move asking you to reposition the open windows you have. With this "feature" combined with the Screen recording issue, I deleted immediately the DDM.
Do you mean to say KVM not be used with a Mac in any way on this monitor? Or it can still be changed through the monitors built in OSD?

Well the blacks are not that grey and look good in daylight, just like you mentioned and I did earlier the IPS glow in a darker room in the left or right corner if there is something black is massive. For a monitor this price I am a bit disappointed with that.

But yeah in the end what is worse, a chin, big bezels, crap colours, low ppi, op IPS glow, or really expensive. In the end there is no real good alternative at the moment :(

I took the plunge and ordered the U3223QE - I'll be using it in quite a light room, so will post some pics once it's arrives. How is connecting it to the M1 Mac for people? Can you run the entire system - including powering the MAC - over USB-C?

@TheJustAbout yes this definitely works.
My setup is: Macbook Pro (M1 Max) via USB-C to monitor. All other devices are plugged in to the monitor.
Benefit: in parallel, I have a PC and I use the KVM switch functionality of the monitor.
PC is via Displayport and second USB-C (for USB upstream plugged in the "USB-C 2" port in the monitor)... now with switching the input (USB-C or DP), all USB devices are also redirected. Quite cool.

Picture quality with Macbook is great, that was the only reason I upgraded from a S2720QC.

Does this also work with the high resolution mode?

I use the provided cable from the monitor and is providing video, data and charging. Very clean, just one cable and no problems.

Excellent! So the Dell Display Link software works with M1 too? Or is it not really needed?

Out of interest is anyone familiar with the LG 27UP850 and how it compares to this monitor? They are both USB-C but the Dell has extra features (ethernet, 2000:1 contrast, etc). However I'm wondering if that's worth the £300 increase in cost!

I've just got a couple of the LG 27UP850-W for my Mac mini and I'm loving them. They are replacing two 4 year old Dell 27" QHD's. The text is much sharper, colours are great. I tried a 31.5" but found me lifting head up and down as well as side to side. Side to side is more comfortable.

Yes, it works on MacOS. But it is not needed, you can setup everything on the monitor and switch with a small joystick at the back of the monitor.

And I finally return the 27“. 32“ is great

If you guys had to choose between the LG UltraFine 5k running as close to a 4k scaled resolution as possible or Dell's new U3223QE running at native 4k, which would you pick assuming:

1. Low light room (no glare)
2. Room with lots of windows

I just received mine, the contrast difference is very noticeable and looks MUCH better than my BenQ PD3220U. Night and day difference.

On the downside, it looks like I got a bad unit with regards to backlight uniformity, even though it's expected that IPS panels are uneven by nature, I think it's worse than it should be.

Also, the IPS Black I'm not seeing as much difference as I'd like, it's definitely nowhere close to the Macbook's display in terms of black.

I made a video to show the difference, Dell U3223QE vs BenQ PD3220U (note that the backlight defects are far more noticeable on video/photo than in real life). Also note the dell is 400nits vs 300nits on the BenQ.

I wonder if my unit is an exception or not, hopefully not as I'm planning on returning this one and requesting a replacement.

I have the same IPS backlight bleeding, like 3 columns in the both left and 3 columns on the bottom right. Still deciding if I will keep it or return it.

So on mine the 3 columns on the left now subsided and are not as noticeable as before. Similarly on the right, but there is a more visible broad glow, much more than my BenQ. With daily use I'm not noticing them as much though.

My 27" and 31.5" both went back.

To sum up:
+ great overall built-quality
+ great design
+ great features (only one cable to my M1 MBP; USB, USB-C, RJ45, ....)
+ bright (enough) for me
+ great colours
- much IPS glow, not that black as expected
- IPS backlight bleeding (bottom left, top left)

Overall:
too expensive for what it does. So I have to search again for a good display.

This is the monitor what I have just tested in the shop, and I had a very good feeling while testing it. This is one of the possible candidates for me, if I decide to sell my 32" Eizo.

Yeah funny, I had those colums too but they are gone. IPS glow remains but not as noticeable anymore as I use different wallpapers and not using it for watching Movies or TV anyways. Colours are amazing and so is the design. Keeping this until a good MiniLED & Oled or Apple monitor comes around with high DPI and hopefully more Hz.

For those interested, this site shows a bit what is coming this year :

Only the Samsung G8 suits what I want, but not sure if I like the looks of it...
