Have you seen this one, miniLED - 1152 dimming zones?

Asus and Apple got only 520 dimming zones...

Hi all,

Just noticed there seems to be some "dynamic contrast", which can't be disabled. Plugged in USB-C to my M1 Air, I noticed the brightness seems to change according to what is displayed.

For example, with a mostly bright wallpaper, and playing a YouTube video not in full screen, the brightness varies slightly depending of the video content. I can see it easily if I pay attention to the wallpaper.

It's connected in USB-C to my M1 Air, HDR is disabled on both screen and OS, and currently running in calibrated custom colors. However, I tried in standard setting, with the default profile and it's the same.

Could someone check on his side?

Thanks!

Already disabled! And this shouldn't have any impact on the Dell anyway.

Beside that, for those who are interested, here are the results I have after calibration:

I got the Dell U3223QE as my second monitor. My first monitor is the Dell U2721DE. I use them with the OWC Thunderbolt 4 dock and the M1 Pro MBP 14. The monitors are connected via USB-C to the dock.

So far, I really like the monitor. Colours are beautiful, blacks are noticeably deeper than on the U2721DE. Backlight bleeding is not better nor worse than on the other one. I use it for work (coding), no gaming, so it's fine for me. The display quality, build quality, design, ports and features are worth the price for me.

I only have one little issue with it. I have a Benq screen bar connected to one of the USB ports and it only works, if the laptop is plugged into the dock. As soon as I undock, the light goes out. This is not so with the U2721DE, which keeps supplying power through USB, even when undocked. Maybe it's just some setting on the monitor, I don't know.

27" 2K vs 32" 4K: 27" 2K is very nice, but I really wanted to have a 32" 4K monitor. I tried an ultra wide once, but it just didn't feel right for me. This 32" 4K monitor seems to be the best for me personally, I'm really happy with it! It's definitively awesome for productivity.

I use the middle scaling setting (3008x1692), this is the sweet-spot for my eyes.

Needless to say, nothing beats the new M1 Pro MBP's screen, which has the best colour, brightness and 0 backlight bleeding. I don't really care about the refresh rate, 60 Hz is fine for what I do and I honestly don't even notice the difference, when I'm using the 120 Hz screen of the MBP - maybe I just don't do anything that would make it noticeable, I don't know.

Ordered four of the U3223QE displays which I plan to run at 3360x1890 or 3008x1692 depending on eye preference once I get hands on them. I'll run all four in portrait mode as I code and day trade primarily, gaming is done on PS5 and XBSX on 65" LG OLED so no worried about 60Hz or response time.

Order was placed yesterday, they estimate Feb 18 ship date and Feb 22 arrival.

I also noticed that my screenbar would only come on after the laptop was on and will need to find the settings and change this.
Nice setup.
Am the same I wanted a 32" as I had the 27" LG before. This Dell ticks most boxes for me. Will see what Benq do with the upcoming PD3025U as that was my 1st choice but its not in the market till April 2022 which is too long to wait.

Cannot wait to see this setup once delivered. Am still running 4k settings and its working.

I still have my trusty 2013 Mac Pro and I am looking for a new 4K monitor for it. Will the U3223QE work, along with 2 ATDs?

MacBook screen has bad grey to grey response time though they have 120hz "promotion", people don't get that much benefit, the experience is not much much better than a normal cheap 60hz external monitor, you can see ghosting in that screen. thinking, although the pro display XDR is a 60hz monitor, people never complain about it because it has a 5ms response time you cant see ghosting, and it has a better experience.

typical monitor ~8ms
MacBook pro ~50ms

Yes, I know about ghosting, but I've never noticed it. I don't do gaming or any serious content creation on the MBP's screen, maybe that's why. When I work, I have it docked and use the external monitors anyways. The U3223 is a very noticeable upgrade over the U2721, but the MBP's screen has the most beautiful colours and deepest blacks of all. I hear people say how big a difference it is going from a 60 Hz to a 120 Hz screen, but I just don't notice it. Same with ghosting.

Can anyone confirm if this monitor will be able to connect to a Mac Pro 2013 (with Thunderbolt 2 ports)? I believe it will, using a Thunderbolt 2 <-> Displayport cable. DP on the Mac Pro 2013 is ver. 1.2 I think, and that should be OK for 4K at 60Hz.

Does anyone have a rough idea about when will these new monitors be available on Amazon?
I know it is not practical to hope to get the exact time here, but still would like to know if anyone, based on past experience, has the idea.
I am looking forward to getting a U2723QE, however, I am not living in the US, and Dell US official website does not ship overseas.

I ordered direct from Dell UK - not sure if that helps at all.

Should work just fine. You need a DisplayPort cable, not a Thunderbolt one.

Just received U2723QE in the mail this morning. It's missing that USB C to C cable for data, video, power whatever in the package, and the box seems to be re-sealed. Seems like I got an open-box product.

Compared to my S2722QC (which has a bit of pink tint), U2723QE panel does have a yellow tint, maybe because of that hardware level comfortview plus (the preset modes don't have comfortview anymore). The black does seem slightly darker - will check more this evening.

Other than, I don't notice any big difference in color. (If I look closely, I would say S2722QC colors pop slightly more).

If anyone gets their hands on one of these who also have a U2720Q (essentially the prior generation) could you be so kind as to give a comparison?

Where did you buy it from? And was it listed as brand new?
