Does this game run smoothly with an end line Macbook Pro (HD6750M)? :)

No. 17 inch 2011 mbp w/ hd6750M here.

It is absolutely unplayable in dx11. In DX10 (or 9?) it is barely playable at 1680x1050 with all settings at their lowest and GPU/mem overclocked +100mhz.

It's probably the drivers. I tried updating using catalyst off ATI's website, but doing that on bootcamp machines is apparently a pain. The installer is currently not recognizing my graphics card and refusing to install. Apparently this is a common problem. The solution is to uninstall the drivers boot camp installed, restart, let windows do its thing and auto-install new default drivers, *then* install catalyst.

I'd do it to confirm, but it's Friday night, and frankly, I'd rather be out socializing than fussing over computer problems alone in my apartment.

6970 2gb iMac - everything on max, shadows on normal, 1920*1080, Windows 7. Runs at 60fps throughout.

You need to update with the full package, not the smaller package you're using.

Really enjoying this :) It is a pleasure to play a game that has actual thought and effort put in to it - and the combination of stealth/action is fantastic.

Playing it at 1920x1200 with everything (and I mean everything) maxed out, DX11.

Hey guys,

There's a great sale happening on GreenManGaming where they have a sale for 15% off for some games and a coupon code for 20% OFF! The game uses Steamworks so the CD-KEY you get will register on Steam and act as if you bought it on Steam.

Coupon: 20SUM-MERSA-VINGS

Standard: 42.49€ before 20% Coupon, 34€ AFTER

lol, reference link. I don't think they're allowed on this forum.
Also it's the same price on Steam itself (£29.99).

Edit: Oh man you've spammed this all over the internet, haha.

Its €49.99 on Steam here, so €34 is a good saving;)

That being said, I just ordered the game from India (I've bought number of PC games - all original retail versions) and it cost me €21.50 including shipping.

The only down side is it takes up to 21 days to arrive. But I'm still playing The Witcher 2 at the moment anyway.

Hope the game will run at max with 1920 x 1080 on my GTX285 16gb 2.8 Octo core MacPro. The Witcher 2 runs at near max settings (minus ubersampling) without any hitches what so ever, so keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm looking to buy the current 21.5" 2.6ghz i5 with the Radeon 6770M 512MB GPU. Anyone tried it on that setup? Most i've seen described here have cards with 1GB and so on.

I'm thinking I might get the Xbox version instead if that iMac can't handle it.

If 1 GB graphics cards are having a tough time dealing with it then I doubt a 512 GB one will handle it well.

But this thread has had examples of people with 1GB cards running it well. The ones describing problems seem to be mainly driver issues.

So for instance, if a 6750M 1GB works well, then a 6770M 1GB ought to work well since the 6770 is marginally better. However, the question is whether or not DX:HR is so VRAM intensive that going under 1GB dramatically improves performance. Some games take a massive hit from lower VRAM, others aren't affected that much. That's what I was wondering.

DXHR: It's an awesome game, graphics are fantastic and my frame rates ain't bad even with everything on max. Finding myself very glad to have an actual PC box just for the purpose of gaming... :) If more other game releases are as good as this, I might have to ditch the Mac and return to windows ;)

VRAM isn't massively important, it's almost anecdotal. The real issue as to whether a GPU will do well at DXHR is simply the core speed, memory speed and number of cores available. Yes, VRAM will matter when you're driving huge resolutions (such as 2560x1440 or 2560x1600), but not lower down the scale, which is what most people are doing.

You're right that if a 6750M is doing fine, then a 6770M should be better. However, even if the card had 512MB it wouldn't take much of a performance hit.

Runs about ~25-30 fps with low settings, on 13" 2.3 Ghz Core i5 MacBook Pro with Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB and Windows 7 in boot camp.

Your machine needs 8GB of RAM to beef up the video ram to 512 MB, otherwise the integrated card is running off 384 MB. Not sure if the extra 128 MB make a difference. But it runs on my machine.

Game tip:
- You'll get more experience points for taking out baddies with non-lethal means.
- Hack everything, even if you have the code, for more experience points (if you want to get maximum upgrades).
- Watch the hacking tutorial before you start playing the game.
- The first time after you get back, your speed to get to the chopper matters, although you can roam freely.

Does the US product key work in other countries? If it does then here's a great deal: choose "DOWNLOAD" (defaults to buying disk) and you'll get 20% off, steam product key, 2 extra weapons, and download of Steam files:

I'm a bit wary of buying this. Believe it or not I didn't care too much for the first one. It felt like it bit off more than it could chew and just came off mediocre as a result (I applaud it's ambition though.)

How's this one? Is it worth a try if I didn't really care for the first one?

Perhaps you missed the storyline in the first game? It's considered by many as one of the best FPS made.

Deus Ex is more like a combination of RPG (story + free roaming) and FPS. You can ignore the story part if you want, but it's a good part of it.

I think it depends on when you played the original, if you played it when it came out and weren't impressed and hadn't been skewed by hype you most likely will find this one equally lackluster as it will just not be the kind of game that fits your taste. If you however played the original years after it came out or where skewed by hype it might be possible you like the new one but not a given.

I agree with this.

I had the great fortune of playing DX: Invisible War first, and at the time I had no idea that it was a sequel. I had never heard of the original. Once I tracked down the original and played it, I was blown away by it. I enjoyed DX:IW, but it couldn't hold a candle to the original, IMO.

Does anyone know if it will be playable on the following machine?

MacBook Pro
Windows XP SP 3 (Mac Os 10.6.7)
2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB 667 Mhz DDR2
GeForce 8600M GT

Graphics don't have to be on high. The game just has to be playable.

Thanks! :)

Should definitely be playable. Maybe a little more.

I love this game a lot. I think that the second the most game I've played a lot of times along with ME 2. anyway I already finished it three times because I have attempted to complete 100% achievement. but so far I didn't get yet (91%). pacifist achievement is the most difficult one I have dealt with. I found some odd fact. when I crank video setting max out, ironically game runs perfect, very smooth. but when I adjust low or medium whatever you call, performance seems to be down (under directX 11).

by the way, I still have stutter issue. 99% of game play has really no visually demanding. but sudden frame rate drop, or it looks like freezing per second. it annoys seriously. I hope that Eidos could fix this big problem as soon as possible. as you know, there are tons of people who has this issue.

Using bootcamp display drivers, the game is quite unplayable at high settings. Downloading and installing the Nvidia drivers resolved the problems i had and now i am able to play at all settings maxed.

Running on MBP 2010 13".

Note: This is the best game i have played for a long long time!!!! Go get it!!
