I am getting sick of Apple dicking us around. I couldnt even cancel if I wanted because i used and Edu discount and it tells me I cant because my printer shipped already. This is frustrating...... If my ship date has changed from the 9th i am going to be pissed. Who said they got a discount because of the wait and how?

This damd Macbook better be the best piece of consumer electronics of all time!
If we were just given an explanation of what's gone wrong in Shanghai then I think we'd understand.

(My iBook should be in my hands in the next two days... At least that will pass my time happily... For this week! ;) )

Three weeks ago there was screaming and knashing of teeth because Apple had not announced the C2D notebooks. Perhaps there were more difficulties than we knew. If Apple had announced when the other notebook manufactures had and then just trickled them out I can only imagine the howling.

And, yes, I am waiting for a 17" C2D MBP. Hope gets here soon, also hope it gets here well. I am sort of reminded of an old Gallo Wine ad: "We will sell no wine before its time."

Damn!

Just spoke to Apple and my ship date has been delayed to November 14. All day I've heard denial after denial and now behind the veil of "scheduled maintenance," they delay my order! Unbelievable! :mad:

Apple Store "scheduled maintenance" = "delayed orders"

BTW, I ordered on October 24 and MBP delivery is to the U.S.

Just called Apple and they said shipping today or tomorrow. I've got express (2 day) shipping, which she also said means 3-6 days for Canada. There is still faint hope for it arriving Friday, otherwise I'm stuck waiting for the long weekend...

Well I called Apple again and looks like I'm pushed back to Nov. 14th..."but I'm sure you'll have it by mid-November!" His speculation was that demand has exceeded expectations.

If I'm not mistaken that makes me the first person on here from North America to get pushed back.

Yep, I just got my email, too. Pushed back from Nov 7 to Nov 14. Another one in the good old U.S. of A. So it's not just the UK customers. They just happened to hear it first.

I also got the shipping slip to the 14th. Which means I won't get it until Monday the 20th, because I'll be gone.

Is it the LCD?

Given that 15" MBP with 2.33GHz chips and 3GB of RAM are going out, I think the source of the delay is the LCDs for the 17"s. Either Apple didn't procure enough of them for the demand they've seen or something went wrong with the first batch of screens.

Not Good

This is really frustrating!!! My original order was made on september 29th before the upgrade, I was happy to see they changed my order to the 17" 2.33 ghz although my shipping date was changed from october 21st to nov 8th now if they move it back to the 14th ill be gutted.

Havnt recieved email yet but its not looking good
