Actually I think you're on to something, except that perhaps they decided to fill more or bigger containers and pocket the savings in shipping costs.
I believe there is an accountant with a very large helping of karma coming their way.
Makes sense that the UKers would get this email first as Nov. 7th ends there before in the US. I'm just waiting to see my notice of the delay.

as of 5:15pm Eastern Standard Time (Toronto, Canada) >>> my order still says as my signature entails. "Ships by: Nov 07" - even though an apple rep on the phone said "Nov 09 for sure" around 10AM. refer to my signature for details on when i bought it, etc.

But this late in the afternoon without an update to my order status I'm beginning to think you may be right. Spoke to Apple reps again and they said that a shipment confirmation email will go out tonight. They continue to say that my order won't be delayed.

It is now (2:37pm PST) only 6:30am in shanghai. I figure fedex will start picking up in an hour and a half.
So we should start seeing shipping notices around 4-5pm PST (7-8pm EST).
My fingers are crossed in a most painful way...
Called to confirm that I had expedited shipping. Rep. also confirmed I will receive my shipping/tracking details sometime tonight?

Same here. Although I think that they just look at your weborder, because the lady said "ship by Nov 7, and arrive on 15th." However, I have 2-day, and she was like "oh, then yes, you will get it sooner than the 15th". They are just as clueless as we are folks...sigh...
I am happy with my £50 discount for now.
But i will see if i get an e-mail tomorrow like the Apple woman promised.
She said she will see why it was delayed and if it can be sped up, she will e-mail tomorrow, if i don't here anything i will call again, and complain i didn't get an e-mail so i get another £50 off
