So what's up with "Received after Fedex Cutoff"?

So, what's up with this statement? Does everyone have this statement? (I did)
Does that mean we are behind by a day, or no? I haven't called Apple yet to give them h*ll... :) I don't want to if all is OK....

Yeah i believe everyone who is on Fedex got the same status, however if you look at the link that byteCoder posted about a 15" track...

it seems to not affect the delivery

Good good... I was hoping. Last time I ordered a MBP with expedited shipping, it showed up at my door before updates were made at FedEx. I just never had a "missed cutoff" statement before.... OK, I am still hopeful!

Anyone know what the time difference is between the US and the manufacturing plant? If it's 12:50pm here, it certainly has to be past plant closing time over there, so I shouldn't expect to see any progress for the remainder of the day, yes?

(Bad grammar is just a way to make a question seeped in desperation come across as slightly less desperate...)

Well, first of all, I assume you are in EST, since its 12:54pm here. Shanghai is 13 hours ahead. Its 1:54am - Nov 15, there now.

You Think You Had A Long Wait? 8-Core Mac Pro Not Until About Leopard In March

You guys and gals think you had to wait a long time? Just found out that the wait for the 8-Core Mac Pro will be 'til about the end of Winter March '07. I thought it was going to be today until I read this Tech Report. So for any of you who got angry over a few more weeks, how would you like it if you knew you had to wait 4 more MONTHS ? :( :D :)

I'm looking forward to your early reports on how you like your new C2D 17" MBPs so I can get motivated to buy one in the mean time. Thanks for all your participation. Great job.

Still waiting

Mine is a stock matte screen, ordered on Oct. 25 at 4:30 Pacific Time as an educational institution purchase. From the start I had a Nov. 16 ship date, which has not changed throughout all the delays that the consumer channel has seen. So, I'm hoping that I'm still a go for shipping Thursday.

I have standard shipping, but I'm just across the state from Memphis so maybe the shipping won't be as long as 5-7 days.

I've enjoyed seeing some finally ship this week!

Yes, seeing the 17-inch MBP's finally ship is definitly encouraging.. Though for some reason it still doesn't make me think I will see my MBP this week. I guess I won't believe it until I see it :p

i dunno man. i've been waiting for a merom-based mbp since the merom chip rolled out in mid-late july. with this incredibly protracted shipment, that's about 4 months since i started waiting. admittedly there were availability problems for merom, but c2d laptops were widely available long before apple's rollout.

the wait for the merom mbp, all shrouded in the customary, sensational, apple secrecy, combined with the crappy way apple has treated us who ordered early, has turned me from being fairly positive about apple and eager to switch from windows to gravely uncertain that i've done a good thing. if the equipment they send me isn't up to specs -- if something's broken on it, as seems to be the case for so many c2d mbps, or if it's disappointing in other ways -- then that may be the regrettable end to this expensive experiment. osx is a great os, but oses aren't the only source of agony in the world of consumer pcs.

Yeah, but we've been waiting for a 64 bit chip in an apple laptop since 2001/2002. Since the G5's came out, it's been an "any day now" thing for 64 bit in a laptop.

hope was dashed when they made it clear that there would never be a G5 laptop. But it didn't really stop the waiting. My 1GHz TiBook will be 4 years old in 2 weeks. been waiting for the 64bit chips before i bought a new one.
(and it's good timing too, i think the fan is about to go... making death rattles)

did you get your 17" C2D MBP yet?

I ordered my MacBookPro 17" 200GB on 10/24.
Today I got an email from Apple confirming shipment.

(cannot wait to ditch my XP Pro...)

I don't know much about this, but as far as I've understood the whole 64-bit thing, the only difference is that you can have more RAM. But the current 64-bit laptops are not able to use that much RAM anyway, so what's the benefit of it? Of course the C2D processors are great in so many other ways, but it seems to me the whole 64-bit thing is blown a bit out of proportion. Please enlighten me, as it's probably just me who missed out on whatever the big thing about 64-bit is (apart from more RAM).

(sorry for being off topic)
