I agree.

http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/16/6154975/iphone-6-review

Some points from their review:

  • Everything is better and nothing is different, et there’s nothing truly ambitious here, no grand vision of the future or of a new way of living in the present.
  • Apple doesn’t have better ideas about how to make use of more display real estate, or how to help users navigate a bigger device.
  • It’s not on the precipice of offering a new kind of do-it-all computer
  • The latest iPhones could have been a chance for Apple to really re-examine what smartphone hardware should be, but Apple just built a bigger iPhone.
  • It’s still an iPhone; the same thing Apple’s been making for seven years.

Agree, there is no innovation in this device at all...there are many nice designs such as the M8 and the upcoming note 4... Other phones are actually trying to bring something new to the table...I want to do different things with my phone and I thank the heavens that a company like Samsung exists and allows me to at least use my phone in ways others can't.....

A thinner device with almost 20 % less volume makes a huge difference when trying to hold it, especially when these devices are on the limit of one hand operation.

Volume? What is this a gallon of milk in a square container vs plastic jug? Dude, the size differences between the two hand in hand is about zero. I just saw one side by side with my Note 3 and the most noticeable difference is the fact that the iPhone is slightly bigger but has a smaller usable screen space.

At the end of the day the new iPhones are nothing spectacular other than they are bigger versions of the same old phone they've had for several years. As an Apple fan, I'm actually shocked and disappointed. I thought they would make an attempt to raise the bar but they didn't. They gave buyers a larger screen but nothing new to better utilize that screen. The only benefit are for people in their 40's who might be able to get away with not putting on glasses to read email now.

And the best phone they ever reviewed, with the highest score they ever gave, only behind MBAir and iPads.

Better than everything else out there.

The Verge still gives Apple more credit than necessary..they are fanboys in my opinion

yeah, yeah, would you expect them to say anything else given their slant towards Apple? Newsflash, Android Police will say the same thing about the Note 4.

If you really want to call it better than everything else, it would be wise to point out details and facts and reasons why vs just stating an opinion. This is like the 1,234 time I've heard that same empty comment.

Again, there's really nothing new, innovative or bar-raising with the new iPhones. There's more just keeping up with 2012 if that.

Even iOS 8 is playing catch up with what other OS's have been doing for a while now. Really?...these are the best and most ground breaking features? Yawn. But hey, it does seem that Apple is changing their iPhone to be more like the Samsung Android devices. Along the way with software and now with hardware.

Perhaps the Verge do like Apple, but so what? They are human beings and we all have different tastes. If they review things and are not as biased or impartial enough for some, then don't use their reviews for your own opinions.

If they had hated the new iPhone then the Android crowd would be happy and they would be the best reviewers ever. It might be worth considering that it is in fact a very nice phone and is getting the reviews it deserves. From what I have read its gone down a storm with very little negativity. Food for thought right there. :)

Like the title says, how much fuss to buyers have over Samsung phones?

I think that many Android phone fans(whether Samsung or) get as giddy with anticipation awaiting new hardware/software releases as much as iphone aficionados do.
