I bought the white macbook and some black macbook owners turned up there noses at me in a coffee shop. They walked in like a gang(5 of them). They all had black macbooks.I said Hi to them and they didn't say anything. They just looked at me like I was poor white trash for only having the white 2.0 macbook.I spent $1403.99 on my mbook,I guess I should have spent more to be part of the click.

What a bunch of losers. They're probably just upset they couldn't afford silver and are desperate to justify their purchase ;)

FWIW, the white's nicer anyway. You made the right choice.

I agree, and I think it's very silly that the black one has a white charger :p

i occasionally get hassled. but by people who have no idea about macs, and then i usually change their minds too. :p

No, every once in a while I get the question "why (or how) do you use Mac?"
Then I get to show them what is so special about the Mac software and
hardware. I've recently converted my brother-in-law and his wife.
1 family member down and about 30 to go.

Sometimes. I typically get hassled by the people who think putting neon and clear parts on their computer is cool and will make it go faster. The only thing they tell me is it sucks at games. Then I go on my rant of how I don't have to pay for virus protection, how I can download just about anything I want and not have to worry, and that I have a Xbox 360 for my gaming needs.

Black looks too much like a peecee

Never have this happen. At my job, there are many people who use a Mac as their daily work machine. These are their own machines. Including me, there are also several who have purchased ACD's to use at work (developers). Others that don't have a Mac to use at work or the ACD's usually show signs of wanting one or remark about their toils with Windows.

a roving gang of thugs with black macbooks?!?!?

I guess we're not even safe from our own kind anymore

I am seventeen, and my whole girlfriend's family bashes Macs all the time. I never do anything to try and convince them to use Macs, so I am not a Mac fanboy or anything.

All of their arguments are pointless and make no sense. They are all hung up on the one button mouse, games, the dock, and the lack of intuitiveness.
One of them is an IT guy for Bank of America, so he obviously knows everything about Macs as well . The another one is a gamer who builds his own computers. Obviously, since NO Macs are upgradeable they are inferior from the start.

I am convinced all of them are stubborn people who never want to learn anything new, which I do not care if they do; they can remain ignorant. I basically believe that one cannot say something is better than something else if one has never used both.

I really could careless, but they act like I am a complete idiot because I use a Mac though I just received a full ride to college. :D

I have an iBook and most people at school don't care. There's quite a few Mac users here. Some question my choice, mostly due to the OS.

When we were in middle school/high school, we had those old translucent iMac's which would always freeze up/crash or just load so damn slowly that everyone came to hate the Mac OS. Since it was 5-7 years ago, the OS wasn't quite as fancy and nice as it is now. Whenever an Apple computer (regardless of whether it's a 5 year old iMac or new Powerbook) hangs up or freezes, it's "because it's a Mac."

My parents and brother like Macs, but the rest of my family seems horrified that I have chosen to work with a Mac. They harass me over the fact that I don't use Windows. :(

I get hassled here and there. I don't really mind though. My computer works and it works all the time.

I just hope PC lovers don't soften up toward Macs in fear of more OSX compatible Virii and spyware would be developed, making our current OS internet "safe-wall" no longer valid. Let them say their things and stick with their PC's. I am perfectly happy the way things are now.

You are probably right dynamicv. ;) :D

Pay no attention to those snobs ferretboy, just hang out with us here at MR instead. :) :) :)

I only get positive comments. Especially when I had my iMac G5, everyone was in awe in how an entire computer could fit into one little package. People also can't believe that you can't get spyware viruses and all the crap on a Mac..

I felt so bad once, I walked into my friends house and I see his sister getting ready for college, and of course I have to see this Toshiba Laptop. I had to set it up, get all the crap off the computer, run MS-CONFIG so 100 programs don't run at startup..I told her, Macs are so much better, you don't need to do this stuff. I asked how much did she pay for this laptop, and she said around a 1000. What could have been an iBook was a piece of crap laptop that I can not stand to this day because of all that spyware. She said she would have gotten a Mac but it was too late obviously because that day she got that damn Toshiba.

Not since I stuck a shiv between ribs 6 and 7, anterior side, in a most annoying PC-user.

Well, I guess that is one way to deal with annoying PC users. ;) :D

Same here, I always got positive comment at college whenever I used my 12" 1.33GHz iBook G4. I can not wait to see what people have to say about my MacBook Pro this coming semester. :)

I get hasseled nearly every day, in a joking way, since i had my iBook, and the only reason is because of games.

I just say to myself, they are all in denial...
