Nope. Got my iPad 3G+wifi the day they were released and I use it all the time. Recently took a trip and left my MacBook Pro at the office and traveled with just the iPad. It was liberating not to have to carry so much around.
I think I am a little lazier... That's my regret after getting an ipad.
I got my iPhone 4 on release day (a welcome upgrade from my 3G!), and just bought a 32GB 3G iPad two weeks ago. I use my iPhone for everyday communications and lightweight computing, whereas the iPad is for everyday computing that doesn't require whipping out the laptop.
Also, the larger physical dimensions of the iPad screen make it more relaxing to use than the iPhone for entertainment, despite the iPhone's fabulous Retina display. In fact, over the past week, the only thing I've used my MBP for is to backup and update my iPad & iPhone.
The goal in purchasing my iPad was to reduce my daily carriage of a laptop to an absolute minimum. The goal is to be able to travel with just the iPad and iPhone and still do 90+% of what I do with a laptop. I'm not at that point yet, but it's looking do-able once I figure out the right workflow & app payload for the two iDevices. Getting there...![]()
