Nope, instead of having a laptop in my lap every night in bed before I turn out the lights I now use the iPad to read news, browse forums, pay bills online, email and game a bit, and the biggest PLUS about this is the iPad doesn't BURN a hole in my lap like the heat even my small 12" screen laptop generates. Plus it's not as bulky as the laptop, plus believe it or not it actuallly renders websites faster than the laptop (Windows = Resource Hog).

I don't have any remorse and I find myself using it for more than I thought I would. I don't have an iPhone 4 though. I do have a smartphone and as soon as my contract is up, I will probably downgrade to a prepaid phone as I hardly use my phone as anything other than a phone now.

I just wish more people in my area had them so I would feel more comfortable using it for more things out in public instead of using it only at home and in planes/cars/hotels.

I saw the first one in my town at the bowling alley on Friday! My middle child was shocked someone else had one besides her sister and I! LOL!

I could follow this up with another type of comment, but as this isn't a parenting site, i won't. ;)

So I'm now up to 2 spottings "in the wild"

That poll is open to anybody and meaningless since all the haters can vote negative even though they have never seen an iPad.
This. I sold my iPad a few weeks ago and now have seller's remorse. However, I feel like I'm too close to the model refresh to justify buying another 1st gen. I'll definitely be first on the list for the second gen.

Are you counting cafes or bookstores in your count? I don't count them because I have always seen laptops in those places and everywhere that I expected to see laptops I will expect to see iPads. The bowling alley I'm not sure if I would expect it...I am pretty sure that they have free wifi but I don't think I have ever seen anyone with a laptop in there. Maybe during football season but I have never been then.

I really want to use my shopping lists in the grocery store without going to the trouble of syncing it to other devices first. I think it would be awesome to be able to go to the grocery store and see something that I would like and be able to just plug it in and look up recipes and grocery lists tied to that recipe...I kind of do this now except I take the time to go through all of the circulars and have to plan everything out in advance and I usually put the shopping lists on my phone before I go.

I think I would be more likely to do this if I had the 3g iPad or if the grocery store had free wifi. As it is I do have a mifi but that would feel even weirder I think to pull that out and turn it on then pull out the ipad and turn it on then walk around the grocery store with my iPad out. But then I would be paranoid about it getting stolen or a "lost/found" situation.

I do have a lock code on my iPad and I photoshopped the lock screen wallpaper to have my email address and phone number on it but that doesn't mean someone would try to return it.

After buying an iphone 4 I find I'm using it more, but that's just because it's new and I love the retina screen and how sharp and clear it is. The iPad screen looks a bit blurry afterwards I have to admit.

HOWEVER, I do NOT have remorse at all because there is one thing hands down the iPad is great for and that is as a PDF and comics reader. I have a huge library of PDFs such as cookbooks, textbooks, encyclopdias and these render super fast and full-size on the iPad. I couldn't imagine looking at these on the tiny iPhone screen. Comics are also a big plus and look great in all their full-size glory. No, for this alone I'd cough up the cash for an iPad, so no remorse at all whatsoever on my part.

We use ours more now than ever. I actually am contemplating a second as my wife grabs it when she gets home to relax usually. Previous to this she wanted nothing to do with my iPhone or anything Apple. I am lucky to get an hour with it a night and that's usually with the guilt look. :)

Remorse? Absolutely not. It is now an integral part of my everyday life. If this is the beginning of truly mobile computing then I'm in for the ride and can't wait to see where we end up in the coming years. Thanks :apple: for showing everyone how it' done. Now all we need is some decent competition to push :apple: to innovate further.

No remorse as such as I think the hardware is fantastic, I just wish it had some everyday useful software that would make it a complete business tool.

MS office running natively (esp. Outlook) or a fully compliant app would make it sooo much better.

iWork is a joke and Docs to go is limited.

I'm like this too. I haven't bought one (yet) but when trying one I went straight to iWork to see how I could use. Whilst great hardware is a necessary starting point, its the apps that actually would help make it really useful. I'm still looking for what I can use it for, compared to say just a cookbook, listening to iTunes on the laptop/speaker system.

Speaking of which does anyone know if you can stream music to Airport express from the iPad?

i haven't been to a cafe or bookstore, so i haven't seen any there to count! The times that i've been to Panera i haven't seen anyone using a laptop either. Retirement community living is another type of experience all together.

The mom was using it while her kids bowled (and my daughter was using hers while sitting behind her with her knee elevated). We did some schoolwork with mine last week between frames. They wanted to bowl but had stuff to get done, it helped we were the only people in the place....

Could you turn on the mifi before going into the store? Then just keep it in your bag/pocket.

i haven't used my iPad at the grocery store, but i'm still using Handyshopper on my Treo... Nothing works as well. If i had a killer app i would use it, but we also have a different atmosphere over here in the stores. I'm normally 1/2 an aisle away from my cart with my phone or touch sitting in it and no worries it will disappear. Lol, I mainly shop at SAMs club and it is next door to the police station too :p

Something like the zoogue case with the Velcro might make it a bit obnoxious to take and alert you someone was up to something.

But go ahead and give it a try, which is easy to say coming from the lady that lives her life not following some society norms! LOL!

I don't regret mine at all. I wish I've gone traveling more since I've gotten it cause it's perfect for traveling. I did it take it on two trips and it's so nice to not have to take it out during security.

Watching video on the plane is great with the larger screen.

The battery life is amazing of course.

When I want to use it, it comes right on cause there's no need to ever turn it off.

If I hadn't bought it, I'd probably be thinking about buying it everyday. So I'm glad I did.

You should save your money and buy a Delorean. Then turn it into a time machine, fly into the future, and find out when the last generation iPad is, then come back to present day, and wait until it comes out so you can buy one.

Hopefully it will be made of magic fairy dust so that it can last for ever and ever, so you can get every penny's worth..

Got my 64GB 3G on Saturday, along with my iPhone4 and MBP, I am set to face the world!

No buyer's remorse here, it is a very nice device, and does everything I wanted it for... and more!!

You went a really long way just to fall on your face. Good job!

Not so much Remorse, as it is noticing things that should be there and are not. I can't stream to an AirPort Express from the iPad? Even a ipad Specific Remote App would do. No Printing.(Just for a couple of EG.) I'm hoping these things are more like Copy and Paste on the iPhone in that it's taking awhile to figure it out, but still, I forgive for the Possibilities.

I use it everyday, in my bed and on the can :) Reading comics, surfing the web for hours and watching movies on a phone is just... stupid.

I had a little remorese after the first week. Now I use it every day. I always have some remorse after buying technology related items..mainly because I know a better one either exits,or will exist soon
G:D

Thinking of taking mine back

Just got an iPad today. Up to now I have felt that I really wouldn't be able to use one but the local Best Buy got them in and I succumbed to the curiosity. Got the 32GB one.
Pluses:
Very cool technology

Minuses
Doesn't really do anything my IP4 doesn't do
Can't use a VGA adapter to mirror the display unless you are using certain apps.

So what am I missing here? I have 14 days to return to BB and at this point, I am very inclined to return it.

Another one of these threads but I'll bite.

"Doesn't really do anything my IP4 doesn't do"

Could you elaborate?
