If I sold the phone I would have to make sure it covered the rest of the iUP contract, if it didn't I would be out of pocket. Why bother when I can give it back to Apple and they will pay off the contract and let me set up a new one?

I'm not sure if it will work next time but with my IP7 I had something like £200 remaining to pay off. I sold the phone for like £350 paid off the remaining £200 and put the extra £150 towards the iPhone X

But yeah if that's easier for you I was just suggesting it

Fair enough, it's easier for me to walk into Apple and walk out with my new phone in under 15 minutes than trying to sell my current phone.

I demoed the X and find it too heavy and large for MY tastes.

It’s an interesting move forward and has an audience today as sales have indicated.

When it comes to costs...

Honestly, I’m a longtime Apple user that has just about had enough of this nonsense.

Let’s be honest, Apple is going WAY overboard with their Costs and need to be knocked down a notch.

Extremely blatant example.

How in the world are they still shipping that same old faulty, 6 months at best before fraying, lightning cable?

I can go on but choose not to be a chairman to obvious issues.

I’m sure I’m speaking to another/newer audience here that accepts this as normal.

I can tell you this from my long history with their products and customer service:

Through my eyes, this is not the Apple of quality products. It has turned into a pig cash machine that can only be stopped by us. Their users!

Did anyone regret paying $8-900 for their 7 or 7+? I don’t see what all the OMG $1000 is about??? It’s really not that far off from previous models. The more appropriate question would be do u regret paying for the 6 6S 7? Basically got the same design with minor improvements for 3 years. That’s more regrettable. The X is fresh, new, and exciting. And a great tool. Well worth a grand considering the amount it does to make my life easier.
In the US maybe but the difference in Europe is over £300 ($393) between models. We pay more for the iPhone 8 than you do for the X so it’s no wonder you don’t have any issues with the price.

On that basis the X here for ‘many’ people is not worth the extra cost and that is reflected in the sales.

I thought they don't release the data on specific models sold?
Carriers here give statements to which analysts write articles and the X is doing well for its price point but hasn’t sold out like anticipated or compared with previous releases. It has its market but it’s apparently struggling against the iPhone 7 which is suddenly in demand since October.

My take is The majority are not going to regret the purchase of the iPhone X. They know exactly what they're purchasing and what they are receiving return. The ones that Are returning the iPhone X, just couldn't find the functionality with Face ID or gesture controls to be suited to their liking. Or simply, they just did not like the new iPhone in general.

What about the IUP? and straight orders from the site. I imagine you can't really tell how well sales have been tbh

Nope, the device is awesome! Coming from an iPhone 5s, it is a huge upgrade.

That is a massive upgrade! lol

I haven't really heard about this before tbh. Do you mean when the phone is lying down flat on a table?

I mean lying in bed. Whenever I wake up in the morning and check my phone, I need to enter my pass code because face ID fails.

Even when I'm chilling on the couch. Face ID works only about 50% of the time.

Not really.
I mean, if I upgraded every year, then yes. But since I don’t, more like every two years or so. It was worth the wait to me. Helps me to justify the cost a little.

I said the X is doing well for its price point. It’s not sold out like previous releases but is significantly more expensive so will naturally appeal to a smaller market.

A lot of people here with an X don’t seem to be able to relate to the fact it’s price puts it at a significant disadvantage compared to say an iPhone 6 on release. Add to that that far too many people seem to think the US price is the same all over the world. I really wish the X was only $999 (£761), but in reality it’s $1311 (£999) and that has put an awful lot of people off. I wasn’t joking when I said we pay more for the 8 than you guys do for X.

Yeah it's a bit beyond that we pay more. Bit unfair if you ask me
