Yeah it's a bit beyond that we pay more. Bit unfair if you ask me
Indeed. Everybody I’ve asked about the X has laughed off the price saying ‘isn’t it like a grand?’ I do feel like we are being ripped off of late with mobile phones and I’m at the point where I’m losing interest in spending my money on them. I’ll either keep my phones longer going forward or look for a platform offering better value while delivering something exciting. The fact that the X’s main rival the S8 can be picked up for £550 to £600 demonstrates how silly pricing has got.

I mainly stay with iPhones for the operating system. I hate Android software. But I think I'll be keeping phones for longer now. I only upgraded from the 7 to the X because of the screen and fast charging tbh

I’m on iOS for the same reason. I left Android in 2012 and have an iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad etc. However, if Apple are going to start taking the piss then I will research the trade offs to see if I can live with it. I can’t justify a grand for an iPhone even if I’m looking to keep the phone longer as carriers don’t seem to be offering 3 year contracts yet.

I’d be happy if Apple continued with two flagship tiers like this year going forward as long as they put a bit of effort into the cheaper option. This year was half hearted and a tad insulting.

I mean lying in bed. Whenever I wake up in the morning and check my phone, I need to enter my pass code because face ID fails.

Even when I'm chilling on the couch. Face ID works only about 50% of the time.

FaceID works for me every single time when I am laying down in bed, no matter if I lay on my back or on my side or how dark the room is...

It’s not sold out like previous releases
Not sure where you get that from. Look at the UK preorder thread on here: Apple online store has a 3-4 week dispatch time. Literally no physical Apple store in the UK has walk-in stock. Stock for IUP and normal reservations each day is slim and sells out by about 6.02am every morning. Argos are out of stock and have a 2-3 week wait on existing orders. JL are out of stock, get a few appearing occasionally that sell out in minutes. Carriers all have "dispatch within 21 days", none available for immediate purchase (that I can find). If that doesn't qualify as sold out I'm not sure what does...

It's a relay nice device. I always read '$1000+ for a phone' but I rarely use it as a phone; it is a computer in my pocket. It has virtually replaced my iPad.

Now Apple just needs to do something 'magical' will iOS.

Well then maybe I have a defective unit. Because face ID only works %100 of the time when upright. Otherwise it's %50

“Totally worth it!”
“Absolutely!”
Other......

A hint of bias in the response options ?
EDIT: Totally misread that. No bias. I was wrong.

I think “Absolutely!” is for those who absolutely regret paying $1,000 the X. I know, it is a bit confusing at first read but it seems to me the OP provided two equivalent options (don’t regret at all, do absolutely regret), plus a third for those who don’t feel they fit in either.

Yikes. Totally misread that. Apologies to OP.

Same here, basically an android phone with iOS and Apple features.
??? Seriously? It's nothing at all like an Android. I've used both since the start and I'm on iOS for my daily now because it's so more intuitive a mobile OS than Android. Android's come a LONG way in the last 5 years..but it ain't no iOS.

I think they meant the hardware is very android in that it’s innovative for a change, not that iOS resembles Android.

I like my X. It's a solid phone, and I don't regret the purchase despite Face ID being a bit ****. This is the upper limit on what I'd like to spend on a phone though.
