Well then maybe I have a defective unit. Because face ID only works %100 of the time when upright. Otherwise it's %50

The phone doesn’t really care that ur lying down. Laying flat on ur back is basically the same thing as standing up. So if it works 100% of the time when ur standing, and only 50% when lying down, and for both positions u are holding the phone at basically the same spot to read ur face, then I would agree something is wrong with the hardware. Maybe something with the gyroscope.

But they always say it at the key note as if they're going to bring out a slower phone and take away all the features etc
You miss my point. Of course the company that sells always says it's the best, it's marketing. And objectively, it is the best at the time since it's the latest tech at the time. However, if you measure by improvements that are clearly better over the previous versions, some are better than others. The X is the best in that regard. I never claimed 7 was the best iPhone ever, regardless of what Apple may or may not have said. It was slightly better than the 6s. The 8 is even significantly better than the 8 with a couple added features, but still not better than the 4 was over the 3gs. Read mine or anyone else's reviews on the details as to why I/we feel the X is significantly better than the 7. But again, get what you want and be happy. Advantages to all of the models, just some more than others, and some at greater cost (lower value).

Edit: Can I change my answer to "Hell no!"?

Do you work for Apple to see if consumers are willing to pay higher for next year's iPhone X Plus? Of course we will. Price it at $2K next year.

I wouldn't mind working for Apple lol but no I don't and I wouldn't pay 2k$ thats taking it too far lol

Yeah I know what you mean but it's the way they say it. It still makes them look like idiots IMO lol

I have issues sometimes when lying on my side but I think it has to do with the orientation of the phone. Face ID doesn't work in landscape and I find when I'm lying on my side I still hold my phone at a slightly vertical angle

This phone is flawless in my eyes. Its everything I've been asking for from apple for 4 years. I don't understand why it or any phone is $1000 but I myself don't mind paying for something I want.

I LOVE my iPhone X and i am glad I have it, BUT.....I think £1000.00 is too much for ANY smartphone. A lot of the previous comments on here defend the price which Apple will find encouraging. However I would be uncomfortable in a group of friends if someone realises I have it and the conversation moves onto the price. I’m actually embarrassed at spending so much.

I don't mind the price as that's irrelevant to me. It simply doesn't offer anything over the 7 or 8 plus that's worthwhile. Screen is an improvement but too small with an aspect ratio that hurts it.

Matter of opinion. I've never liked the plus phones and the X display to the 7 is a huge difference. Also fast charging/wireless charging is a nice upgrade. I wouldn't say the money difference from the 7 to the X is worth those features. Not too sure

It's certainly higher than what I would want to pay, also it's higher than what I think it's worth. That said, this is the best iPhone available and one of the best phones available period. If I have it for 2-3 years as I plan to, then paying the $300 premium over the 8 to have the top of the line is ultimately worth it for me – especially considering that this is something I'm constantly using so frequently on a daily basis.

I demoed the X and find it too heavy and large for MY tastes.

It’s an interesting move forward and has an audience today as sales have indicated.

When it comes to costs...

Honestly, I’m a longtime Apple user that has just about had enough of this nonsense.

Let’s be honest, Apple is going WAY overboard with their Costs and need to be knocked down a notch.

Extremely blatant example.

How in the world are they still shipping that same old faulty, 6 months at best before fraying, lightning cable?

I can go on but choose not to be a chairman to obvious issues.

I’m sure I’m speaking to another/newer audience here that accepts this as normal.

I can tell you this from my long history with their products and customer service:

Through my eyes, this is not the Apple of quality products. It has turned into a pig cash machine that can only be stopped by us. Their users!
I’m not saying the problem doesn’t exist, because it clearly does based off the large amount of people who have issues with their cables. However, I have not had a single lightning cable fail on me, personally, so it’s hard for me to immediately agree and say the cables are of poor quality.

I’m using the same cable from my 6S Plus (I tend to give the new, still wrapped cable to the buyer of my old phone when possible) and it’s still going strong. My girlfriend’s cable died a couple months back but she kept twisting it at weird angles and that was what did it more than anything else I think.

I don’t regret waiting. Only have to wait 20 more days to save $300. For $1000, doesn't seem worth it. For $700, hmm.. maybe.

Thats the thing though, it doesn't matter if you can afford it or not. I could afford a phone three times the price, as could many other people. However there has to be a point where something has gone past what it is worth, and personally I think £1000.00 is too much for a phone. I didn't pay £1000.00 because I sold my 7, but it doesn't make it right though.

Personally, I sell a few things Apple or other things on side to pay for it as I don't recommend the average user to spend a 1000 each year or even half that. And that's already on top on my cpa salary, investments and all that. I'd really hate to see someone living paycheck to paycheck making what is sort of a car payment to their cell carrier but that's what you see. They say they can afford it but they have no idea what that means. Do they have savings? IRA or 401k? Maxxed an HSA already? Nope, afford means they can still barely manage to pay other bills.

But this isn't a finance forum. It's an Apple one. Apple will charge what the market dictates they can. Obviously they can. And why wouldn't they? Cell carriers are still helping them out spreading the cost over 24 months with hardly a credit check. The average user doesn't see blowing a 1000 plus on a phone, they see it as paying 40-50 a month. It's a shame but they prey on the weak. Certainly not so they can show off the latest design and still use the same features basically. Texts, pics, facebook, a few games, none of this is worth 500+ a year.

Actually feel better about it having used the phone for a dozen days now. Felt a tad "guilty" for such an indulgence initially. No more. Just the same I won't be upgrading annually. Too spendy for that and unnecessary. I suspect used 256 X's will be going for $500 this time next year. Depreciation hurts.
