iPhones without a doubt w my female friends yet a lot off male friends have androids but love their iPads n now wanting to try the six n six plus .
I foresee more men moving to iPhones since they got bigger
I'm in Jersey and I still see around 70% iPhones and 30% android

Interesting you say that, my wife and I both just moved from iphone to android (Note 4 to be exact). I have an ipad mini which I use less and less now that I use the Note.

In my workplace, I mostly see Android phones. However there are a good deal of noticeable iPhones too. I see a lot of galaxy S3,4,5 and iPhone 5,5s.

I mostly see iOS, followed by samsung a ways behind. Unless in the touristy area of Orlando, where I've even seen sonys in the wild, variety is pretty good there.

My uni is definitely Apple city. Apple laptops/phones. See an android phone occasionally! I feel in the minority when I take my Note 4 there. LOL

Do you see more iPhones or Androids?

That's a strange way to look at it if you don't mind me saying. Sounds awfully biased to me. If you'd read my post you'd see my reasoning.

I think he was right on the mark. It's no secret here that you are very pro Apple. You don't question anything that reflects Apple in a positive light. But you do question everything that reflects Android in a positive way.

At work I see a mixture of phones. It seems like I see more Android away from work.

Where I work, it's probably a 65/35 split in favor of Android.

The androids are mostly Samsung, but there are some LG G3's sprinkled in.

I'm in Atlanta, GA.

I have found iPhone's have got more popular where I am since 2012. Where I used to work our work phone's were Blackberry's but most people were using older Nokia's and HTC Android devices for personal use. I started a bit of a trend when I bought the HTC G1 on contract with T-Mobile. The screen slid sideways to reveal a keyboard and it pretty much acted like a little computer. A few of my colleagues got them and it began my love affair with HTC. I owned a Tattoo, Hero, Desire HD (terrible battery life), and an Incredible S. All were brilliant phone's but I fancied a change and briefly owned a Samsung GS3 before getting the iPhone 5. There are still people here with Androids but company phone's are now iPhone's and the personal preference has shifted.

My niece is 15 and the old days of BBM have gone and all her friends use whatsapp and iMessage now. I think these devices follow trends that can change very quickly. If you had asked me about the iPhone in 2011 I would have said it is over priced and I can do all the same things on Android. My opinion has changed and it could well do again in future. I really like the Galaxy Note 4 and if it was smaller I could have gone for it this time around, again for a change. I didn't fancy the S5 as a friend warned me away from it due to issues he'd had. I think if the Android manufacturers concentrate a bit more on marketing and use more premium materials, I can't see why they won't be more popular in the UK in future. I think half of the problem is people don't want complication and fear Android in this regard.

do american favor iPhone because of chauvinism?
Especially when the main threat comes from South Korean company?
Just asking
I noticed Apple products are more popular than anything else on Canada, US, UK, Australia and those anglophone countries
Europe, its disparate, iPhones are very popular but Android has the majority of the market.

No I don't think its that. I think it has a lot to do with the appeal of the brand and the fact the iPhone is now priced similarly to the high end Android devices. I don't often see a HTC or a Samsung advert on the TV, well not a memorable one yet I see plenty for the iPhone or iPad. Its only in the last couple of years that Samsung have started putting stores in the major cities too, whereas the Apple Store has been around for 10 years or more. It could also be down to the physical product design of the iPhone too. Its a nice looking device and although Samsung have started to dip their toes into the realm of trying to make their devices look premium, they still hold back IMO. HTC have come the closest that I have seen to matching Apple in this regard, however that isn't my reason for choosing an iPhone. I drop mine all over the place so its a miracle its still in one piece lol.

At work, I would say Android: iPhone 2:1
In the real world, iPhone: Android 3:1

Mostly iPhone 5 or 5c, mostly Samsung S3/S4. Some sprinkles of HTC here and there.

I think at my work, it is Android that dominates. I only see like 2 people among the 13 in my team who have iPhones. But at places at malls, Samsung is more common followed by Apple. In tablets, Apple dominates as iPads are prize giveaways for Christmas parties at work. If you included tablets and iPod touches, then iOS closes the gap for Apple.

Personally, I don't like a duopoly. I like an even-playing field when it comes to smartphones esp in the Android world. In Western markets, there are fewer brands. Under 7-8. In South East Asia or in China, the phone brands can go higher than 20+ not including the fakes. I generally root for underdogs. Even LG and Sony I consider underdogs. I like brand choices to be spread out. When I see someone else own the same phone, I take notice. I probably only seen abt 5 people who owned the HTC One (M7) and maybe 7 with the Xiaomi Mi 3 owners. I don't trip thinking I don't want to own a phone so common because I root for the underdogs. Those companies tend to be hungrier for attention and innovation.

Maybe in the last couple years, I do see alot of non-Samsung Android users. Lenovo, Oppo, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc. I see plenty picking the Chinese OEM's for price and they have better skins than TouchWiz. Sony is also quite common here too but also quite expensive. Seeing that Philippines is like one of the texting/Facebook/#hashtag/selfie/grufie/jumpshot/call center of the world, I understand why the brand choices from Alcatel to ZTE is so spread out. Back home in Cali, I always saw more iPhones owners than Samsungs and smaller phones over phablets. It can be quite different and varied in Manila.

iPhones are popular anywhere lol
Japanese like occidental image, thus Apple
Japan is isolated from the rest of eastern asia countries due to their historical conflict
Chinese/Korean hates japanese and vice versa and for japaneses, Android has an image with many chinese and korean manufacturers
I dont think so Apple is more popular than LG or Samsung in South Korea
Perhaps i am wrong but i ve seen some figures which indicate Samsung dominating on its own country

I see a ton more iPhones here in the DC Metro area. The ratio of iOS to Android devices is about 6:1 around here, and is more like 10:1 at my former high school.

Christchurch NZ here. I see android and iphone regularly, samsung is the most common android, iphone 4/4s the most common iphones.
At work, we have 2x note 4, 2x iphone 4s, 1x galaxy s5, 2 x galaxy s4, 1 x docomo branded Fujitsu 1 x htc 1x, 1 x galaxy s2, 2x galaxy s3, and a couple of cheapie Huawei phones.
There used to be more iphones but as the 4/4s died, they've been replaced by androids.

I see more android than apple but I think that's because younger people tend to carry thier phones around with them. More seem to carry cheaper android phones.
I have a few friends with apple phones .

I can't see into pockets or bags.

iPhones or Android? Sorry to be pedantic, but one is hardware, the other an OS :p

I see more Samsung and Nokias lately. Our company gives out iPhone 5S as work phones but thinks about scratching it as no ones wants them and prefers to bring their own devices. I think only a few people actually prefer iPhones.
