As long as I'm kid free I'll be case free lol.
LOL, my wife and I got the first kid in 2003 and the second in 2008. Smartphones came in 2009 while the first kid was 5 and the second 1. No cases throughout 2009 to now. ;)

I do have a video of my daughter trying to get to my phone though. :D

First time going caseless! Screen protector & apple care is all I’m rocking when not traveling!

I am clumsy, I go without case/screen protector and I have apple care plus theft/loss (because I’m also forgetful).

I’m sure Apple targets the wealthy but I don’t think they would make enough revenue if they didn’t also target the middle class (and maybe a little lower?). Unless you mean they are indirectly targeting the middle class by targeting the wealthy, because people want to feel or have the appearance of being wealthy. I’m sure that’s happening to some extent.

That would fall in line with what I mean—I don’t know if the average person wants a durable/ergonomic phone now. Not if it sacrifices the feeling of luxury (even though they cover it up with a case). Even if Apple mainly targeted middle class, the phone might still look the same at this point because people have already tasted “premium”-feeling phones.

It would be interesting if the same level of premium feel could be achieved in a durable/ergonomic phone, what would happen then? Would Apple withhold it to sell cases? Would the rich even want it? Would the middle class even want it? Is it even possible? I wonder if any android phones have tried it. Or maybe luxury by very definition is not durable/ergonomic—ie. having something expensive and easily damageable is a sign of wealth. Hahah

I think if Apple purely targeted the wealthy, or even the middle class, they wouldn’t be as rich and be selling as many iPhones as they have done to date. I’d like to think we are way past making assumption on people’s wealth level from the type of phone they use too. That metric certainly wouldn’t work in the UK for instance as even the poorest on our society often find ways to buy the very best smartphones. Sometimes priorities are misguided.

I love when people feel the need to specify their phone in every post when it’s more than likely on a monthly payment plan. Check out my new carbon fiber case for my iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB.. lmao

I always use a high quality case (currently Carved, but before that I was a Speck fan) and a glass screen protector, mainly for the ergonomics of a non-slippery grip - it’s often in hand and I am clumsy. I will say that I was dismayed to hear that my *very good condition* 14 PM was basically going into the shredder (iUP program). When questioned the sales advisor said that all internals would be recycled and reused but still. I don’t know what to believe. I tried to use it caseless but I only made it a few hours before I was stalking my delivery. Love the phone, the form factor not so much.

I drop the phone at least once a day so no case for me is a kamikaze move.

Woven one is ok for the moment, leather is a complete different feeling.

I have two reasons for using cases. I refuse to ever purchase insurance for any of my electronics so damaging the glass back or screen would be a disaster for me as it could set me back almost the cost of the entire device. I also rarely ever sell my phones and prefer to keep them as part of my collection. The phones I keep have to be pristine and in A1 condition so dents, chips or scratches pretty much preclude a device from becoming a part of my collection. It’s very easy to find old phones, such as the 6S, OGSE or 8 with cosmetic or mechanical imperfections however perfect examples are rare to come across. The phones I have were all brand new when I purchased them so I know they’ve been handled with care.

The 13 is my daily driver so it is almost always in a protective 2 piece case which has kept it pristine for the 9 months I’ve owned it. I intend to keep it as my daily driver until it’s no longer officially supported by Apple, which should give me 3 more years with it. If I used it naked, it wouldn’t last another 3 years and, if it did survive, it would probably look like it had been through a war.

I couldn’t be bothered taking the Gold OGSE out of its Otterbox Defender case so you’ll just have to take my word that it’s in pristine condition. It’s in a case because I use it to stream TV shows while in bed when my 13 is MagSafe charging.

The 6S and 8 were each used as my daily drivers for over 2 years. They were protected by Tech 21 silicone gel cases and screen protectors which were applied upon purchase at the Apple Store.

I haven’t babied any of these phones and they’ve each been dropped many times. The only maintenance is do is cleaning my daily driver once per month as it is important to remove any lint from the case otherwise the phone will end up with abrasions and scratches along the sides.

Yes I do. I tried to go naked with my 12pro. But since I carry in my pants pocket and often have my keys in the same pocket it was starting to get scratched up. I went through a couple clear cases that got in bad shape relatively fast and then I got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear which has lasted longer. So I just got that and their screen protector for my 15 pro

I’m loving going bareback with my 15PM natural titanium. My current account comes with free mobile phone insurance, so breaking it doesn’t really bother me.

No, iphone is already way too fat, plus, why not feel those premium firsthand at all times,

You will be surprised of how much iphone robust even tho main panels are fkng glass, my 13PM & 14Pr did withstand ANY drop on ANY surface,,
My 14plus got dent after every drop, I didn't care as it's only backup device and not premium,
PS. Actually Is primary now, as I don't see 15P as an upgrade ;(((((

Not since my 13PM and didn't on my 14PM. I just got a 15PM 1TB in blue yesterday and won't either. But to be honest my hand did hurt at times with the 13/14PM due to the edges and it digging into my hand.

With the 15PM rounded edges and lighter weight my decision to upgrade was easy since I go case-less. This phone is a joy to hold one handed. FWIW I have no desire to get the smaller pro as I do have big hands and now can use the phone easier in comfort.

15 series are amazing to hold but god damn the sides will scratch easily.

I was going to run without a case but I caved in and bought a Spigen Liquid Air Armor case.

Can’t have my new 15 Pro get scratches with how weak the titanium finish is.
