Hello! Tell me please, when you look at the screen of your Ipad, having its center at eye level, the lower and upper parts of the screen have the same yellow tint. On my copy in the area of the Home button, the screen is yellow. I ask to understand how rational it is to sell my Ipad, to lose money and buy a new one. Sorry for the trouble, but I can not look at the store, because we basically only have an order via the Internet.
I look from the top with a white screen/ blue (twitter) screen and from all angles I can notice the slightly darker edge at the bottom, the top part is bluish. I recommend you get ANOTHER new one and compare with your present one and then sell the worse one (or give it to someone). You'll never know what you get.

Thanks for the advice, I also initially thought so. But then after analyzing the information of several foreign forums, I came to a disappointing conclusion. On the forum, a huge number of people said that they compared in stores 5-8 copies, each of which had a similar problem to a greater or lesser extent. My Ipad has a slight yellowing. I can not exchange it in the store. You can sell with a loss of $ 200. The only way to choose the best copy is to buy an Ipad in a semi-official store, where the price will be more expensive for the 200 that I paid. Total I will have to pay $ 400. If you take it again in the online store, it's a lottery, for which I will have to pay $ 200. If in the civilized countries the sellers are patient, then in our country they will send me to all hell in the second exchange. It seems to me that a more rational step will be to use this money to exchange 7 for 8. Or to register for yoga to stop paying attention to trivialities and calm down) Thanks for the answer. Good luck with your further purchases. I think that people should express their dissatisfaction with the quality of Apple products. When super profits begin to fall, the company's management will have to increase control over production. In the meantime, the inhabitants of the planet are waiting with trembling new presentations and after them they run to the store and grab everything, there will not be any sense!

i have witnessed the same yellowish band along the side where the touch id sensor is placed on my ipad pro 10.5 256gb. would like to share some pics, does anybody know a good file hoster for files <2mb?
there is nothing dramatic about this issue, however every time I am focusing on the area too much, I get pissed off.
using my ipad it mostly for reading, writing and note taking.

Meanwhile i went through 4 iPad 10.5 WiFi 256GB (last one produced in late August).
All of them had the yellow band along the bottom side and the right side (a little less).
In addition i got:
- Dead pixels
- Curved case
- Dings/scratches in Case
- Dings in Glass
This is unbelievable bad quality for a device in this price range.
If i will ever try to buy an IPad again, this will probably be an entry level iPad - May have same quality issues, but half the price!

this sucks! I decided to order another one, just to test if this flaw is so common.

btw: what do you mean by "curved case"??

In my last copy there were the following drawbacks: a curved screen (if you look at the center of the Ipad, then in the area of the Home button, the display has a much more yellow tint, which becomes less noticeable when you move this area to eye level), along with yellowness this portion of the display more dark; the volume increase button was pressed unevenly, sometimes it did not work through the cover; the battery, when tested by two different applications, had a capacity of 7800 mAh, instead of the claimed 8140; under the glass was dust. With all the shortcomings could be tolerated, but yellowness is the first thing I noticed when using social networks and internet surfing. Even when watching a video, he could not tear his eyes from the yellowness on a white background. I sold my ipad. The serial number began on DMPV and was produced from 19 to 26 May.

Maybe they will use the extra bucks for better display quality management ;)

That would be really amazing.
Just imagine: You walk into a store, buy an iPad, take it home and feel happy with it - no issues!
I dream on...

I feel with you. But life goes on. Actually, My device isn't really that bad. I could deal with it, but knowing how much I spend for it (incl Apple Pencil) makes me somehow angry to deal with such flaws. Let's see how the other device will be. I will report on it

So here is my report on the second unit with the serial number DMPV2****
Same story -> yellow band (not visible on camera) incl. a nasty yellowish cloud (visible). I am out of the lottery game. I will stick with my first unit (with just a decent yellow band) and enjoy working on it

Sorry for bothering. Do you have an Ipad for America or the UK?

I bought it in Germany
[doublepost=1506015443][/doublepost]btw. it seems the yellow band is most visible in true tone mode + night shift. turning of both modes, the yellow band is practically not visible. still not a good solution for everybody, since I really like the true tone option

Thanks for the answer. I asked, because the first Ipad Pro 10.5, which I bought, was for the US market with the serial number DMPV, which, as I already wrote, had a dark part of the display in the Home button area and the curvature with yellow tint in the same place. This was the only thing I noticed when working with messages, social networks and even on YouTube! In addition, the volume up button was sinking, the battery capacity was 7800 mAh instead of 8140, sometimes the touch screen hovered and the True tone function worked incorrectly.

The Ipad version for the UK of my friend has a generally warmer screen tone, but more uniform. There is a barely discernible brighter strip below, but it is not very conspicuous. True tone, as it turned out, not only makes the screen orange, but really adapts to the conditions of external lighting.

I think there are no different specifications depending on the point of sale.
Only difference should be packaging, documentation and the charger.

btw. bought mine in Germany too

I also think so, but there is a lot of marriage in America judging by the reviews here and considering my personal experience.

Are the 2017 12.9 iPad Pro affected too?
I had 2 of the first 12.9, they had a similar issue. My 10.5 had this issue too. I'm wondering if the new 12.9 has it too?

I had the opportunity to test the newest 10.5 batch with a 8 in the serialnumber. The yellow band has remained.

As written earlier, don’t waste your time with that and enjoy your device

I can't believe ,though I can, this issue is STILL happening!

Yikes.

best of luck

who's gone through the most replacements, is the question on the tip of my tongue? :D
