Thank you

That's why I don't buy new iPads. Only when I have to because lagging gets to bad. Half of the time, the whole buying experience is just such a nuisance. I hate playing the screenlottery.

My first 10.5 DMP had yellow at the bottom, but it went away at different angles. Unfortunately though, face on was very noticeable. I was gonna live with it then the backlight took a dump so I exchanged it this weekend. The new one is yellow free....also a DMP.

The 2016 and 2017 MBP are suffering the same issue. I took back 3 before I had a uniform display.

I got my new iPad Pro 12.9 today and this is how the screen looks like. I have this „pinkish“ warm bottom when in portrait mode or on the left side when in upright position. It is noticable when reading especially because my previous screen was near perfect (old iPad Pro 12.9). What do you guys think?

Serial starts with DLX..

Can I just say the panel lottery is freakin' real?

I bought a 12.9" from B&H about a month ago, and noticed that on the left edge in portrait mode, there was a darker tint; more blue than anything. It wasn't huge, but I decided to exchange it since I'd spend $1000 on the device and thought shouldn't compromise.

They send me a replacement and it has the same issue. Not only that, but the screen just seemed worse. I couldn't put my finger on it or really say why.

I noticed a local Best Buy near me got the same model in stock, and I thought for a while about buying one and keeping it if I liked it better. I'm really glad I did. The one from Best Buy had the best edges of the three, and I swear to you has a completely different color temperature to the screen. It's really hard to put into words, but it was a little more warm which I liked and the B&H one just seemed more harsh. The Best Buy one also looked more "painted on" IMO than the other B&H one I'd had.

Nothing against B&H of course, just the stock they received. All models were DLX.

I am so so glad I got a good 12.9 first try

Was in NO mood to play lottery after trying and failing at three 10.5’s haha

Is the iPad 10.5 delivered with true tone on?
If so, does this mean, that during the setup dialog true tone is on?

No. Return yours.

Yesterday we got a second iPad Pro 10.5 in the family.

So far, so good. No apparent defects. As for the display, it seems perfect. No backlight bleeding, no dead/stuck pixels, no colour/temperature uniformities or dust between the cover glass and the LCD panel. The yellow strip, in the lower side of the LCD panel, however, is still present, but is so barely noticeable that does not warrant an exchange. You have to pay close attention in order to notice it.

Just for your reference, its serial number begins with DMPV, and its production week is 30 (July).

On the set up screen you can either turn it on or off.

Ok. meanwhile i activated the iPad.
During the setup procedure the screen is set to true tone and looks terrible. At the end of the procedure you can test how it would look without true tone, but you can not deactivate it at this time.
Therefor you have to enter the regular setup app.
Without true tone the display looks much better though the yellow band is still visible.
Unfortunately i noticed later the day, that the iPad is slightly curved out of the box (1-1,5mm in the middle). May be this is to be seen in context with the yellow banding.

Hello guys! Tell me, please, how significant is the yellowness on the screen of my Ipad and whether I should try to change it. In our country, the replacement procedure is very difficult and expensive. I see some yellow area near the Home button. But from different angles, it changes its intensity. The photo was made on the Iphone 7. The Home button is located in the settings switches area. Answer please.

Hello! Thanks for the answer! Iphone was unable to transmit the yellowness of the display cover, it passed an easy dark area at the bottom of the screen. In fact, everything is slightly worse than in the photo. Although, when compared with the photos presented to visitors to the forum, it seems that Apple has reduced quality control in production. My Ipad Air 2 and Iphone 6S have a perfectly white display, and the Iphone 7 has the same screen as the Ipad Pro. Too high price for compromising quality. I probably will not change, so as not to get a copy of bread crumbs from Foxconn employee's breakfast under the glass of the display)

I saw a few iPad Air2 and iPhone 6s (including my own) that had problems with uneven displays.
I think Apple (Foxconn) does no own quality control of displays, they seem to delegate it to the supplier.

Why are you asking other people whether you should exchange it or not? Why don’t you decide for yourself. You are the one who will be using it. I don’t understand these types of posts. If your happy, you keep. If your not, then exchange... simples!!

Thanks for the answer. I was told at an authorized service center that they do not see any problems. Therefore, the procedure for replacing my device will be financially unprofitable for me. But this is not the main thing. The main problem is that the exchange does not guarantee me a better copy. I already went through 9 circles of hell, changing the Iphone 7. So I'll get along with my iPad, because on this site I saw instances with a much more pronounced problem.Tell me, have you exchanged your Ipad and what is the quality of the replacement?

It is a pity that for $ 1000 the consumer has to put up with such production defects. If it were not for the convenience of iOS, I would have switched to Samsung for a long time. Their displays are very beautiful and energy efficient.

I explained the financial inappropriateness of the exchange procedure in our backward country a little higher. Our customers are not protected by law after 14 days. Therefore, without having the familiar owners of Ipad Pro 10.5, I decided to ask for advice from people who have a similar problem. If low-quality displays are of a mass character, then the expediency of the exchange tends to zero.In fact, this is a roulette. You are right about the final consumer of the product, but as such, I have to make a decision based on the general statistics, so I'll leave this Ipad to myself, at least I'll give it to my grandmother to use it as a board for slicing vegetables)

My additional frustration is that forum members are expected to comment on a photo of a screen.

Hello! Tell me please, when you look at the screen of your Ipad, having its center at eye level, the lower and upper parts of the screen have the same yellow tint. On my copy in the area of the Home button, the screen is yellow. I ask to understand how rational it is to sell my Ipad, to lose money and buy a new one. Sorry for the trouble, but I can not look at the store, because we basically only have an order via the Internet.
