What you read on here is just those who have negative experiences [/QUOTE said:That is a lie, people exchange 5+ phones, and all have dust. That is called mass defect, not an isolated accidental fault. I have 3 iphones X in the family, two of them have small specks of dust off center of lense (=tolerable), 3 out of two have uneven screens with pink borders (another known mass defect), and the third one is even color but has uniform greenish tint (poor calibration). At purchase time I had to return one of the 3 to get it replaced for display issues. Apple equalls horrible production quality nowadsys, and software is flakey too!
I went to Apple Store for this problem and they just changed the back camera.. I do not understand what is the related between camera part and dusts
After repair process, there is still dusts/spots under the back camera lens..
This is really annoying problem.. !
Other question why doesn’t my glass cover the rest of the phone edge ?the dust in the lens is from the manufacturing i also have this problem, always have dust issue since iphone 6 and the issue is more noticeable now on the X but it did not affect the quality so i stop the exchange game and settle with maybe 10 small dust what bothers me is the screen i notice banding and stain like shape when on bright colorful wallpaper
thats a screen protector manOther question why doesn’t my glass cover the rest of the phone edge ?
Does your cover edge to edge and how can I show apple the dust in the len so they can fix.thats a screen protector man
honestly i have more dust than what you have but did not affect the pic quality.just go to any apple store and show them they have flashlight they can see it,they might replace your camera lens or maybe your phone as the screen you have a screen protector in itDoes your cover edge to edge and how can I show apple the dust in the len so they can fix.
I took it to one apple store they said they took it to back and saw nothing and he basically said my phone was ok.just go to any apple store and show them they have flashlight they can see it,they might replace your camera lens or maybe your phone as the screen you have a screen protector in it
yeah just try another apple store and report back.good luckI took it to one apple store they said they took it to back and saw nothing and he basically said my phone was ok.
I”m going to try to take to store two since I sent apple chat the photo they believe me and I will show the store the photos.
No it doesn’t affect photos but the dust resistant feature lets say I drop my phone Inwater and gets in lens the dust in the lens it’s to blame.
My friend who did express replacement got two in the mail with dust in the lens that’s why I decline that service all together
yeah just try another apple store and report back.good luck
I been through two iPhone X replacements
First one has dust in lens and faulty screen.
Second one also has dust in lens how can this be normal and my thinking it does affect the dust resistant.
I plan to try an apple store to see if they fix but strange my friend who works with phone doesn’t see but I took it with flash with my iPad for apple to see it.
Have you people have the same issue and what was the result ?
Same issue not normal will go to apple this weekend for a swap
They tried that on mine and put more dust in lens they just swap it out with a replacement with same issue will try apple again.Apple allegedly isn’t swapping devices anymore just for dust issues. (At least some have reported this through various stores.) They are disassembling iPhone and cleaning under the camera lens cover area.

I did not dust under my replacement then two weeks later more dust showed up will ask apple to fix it for me luckily I”m on the iPhone upgrade programThey put more dust under your camera lens cover after cleaning it? They are not going to keep issuing you replacements when they can clean directly under the lens cover area. You should inspect your device before you leave the store to ensure there is no more dust.
There is a lengthy thread already discussing this matter in detail with other members findings and what Apple did to resolve it:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/dust-speck-inside-the-iphone-x-camera-lens.2084349/
Also, it seems Apple is now able to disassemble the iPhone and clean under the camera lens cover area versus issuing a replacement device.
