Production of these cameras should have really gotten better by now, oh well.

But we don't know that they haven't "Gotten better" with production. What you read on here is just those who have negative experiences, but that doesn't speak for the thousands of iPhones that are sold every single day that may not have this issue or consumers who simply don't look for dist either. That's the difference.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was going to add that there are many factors on why this might still happen (one good one is if the customer got one from an older batch).

In any case, I'm hoping production has gotten better and we won't be seeing dust inside these cameras.

my replacement arrived via express replacement and has dust as well, talking to applecare now...

update: they booked me an apple store appointment, hopefully they'll get me a perfect one, and I'll send back the 'express' replacement.

Mine's still perfectly dust free up to this moment. I think it's no dream at all but a little bit of perseverance and luck.
good to know...
Also I was just checking the apple support app, and in the course of applecare handling my case they accidentally cancelled my applecare+ coverage! luckily I have a dialogue going with a “senior advisor”, but between hours of dialogue over the course of emails and calls, I’m getting frustrated.

Patience is your friend here. Just make sure you remain calm and cool when talking to a senior advisor and your issue will be resolved...they’re really good at that. :)

Generally no. But you should be concerned more about the ‘seal’ on your camera unit, especially when more dust start appearing after you got the phone.
Have you ever thought that the dust came from factory not from a faulty "seal"? I mean I get you want a perfect device. But that does not mean or imply your seal is broken.

don’t give up, the dustless ones exist

I don’t disagree that dustless iPhones don’t exist, but I’m also believing that the majority of iPhone owners don’t look for dust on the camera lens either. I Usually find more particular iPhone owners on a tech forum that take a flashlight to the back of the camera lens housing to look for dust.

That the majority of iPhone consumers likely don’t look for dust under their camera housing unless it poses a problem. You have others who take flashlights to the displays and camera housing looking for problems. However, More oriented tech users on sites like these tend to look for minuscule things on an iPhone, when the average iPhone consumer likely doesn’t care to look for defects or thinks about it. Someone who purchases a smart phone, they just use it as they normally would, without analyzing every little aspect of it.

I still don’t understand how this is contributing to the conversation

You do understand, it’s just you don’t agree with the context of my post from when I originally quoted you in post #391. I have explained it twice.

I Originally quoted you when you posted:

“ Don’t give up, dustless one’s exist.”

That said, not everything has to correlate with your viewpoint. Mine was just opposing, that their are those who do not look for defects. It’s simple as that. “Dustless” iPhones exist, some realize it’s not a major factor as long as it’s not affecting the camera functionality.

So, my iPhone X had a speck of dust in the rear camera and it was interfering with the camera. I took it to the Apple Store, and they told me that they'll remove the camera, clean the lens, and reassemble the device. I ended up waiting 2 hours for this to happen, but then the guy came back and just said that it was a scratch on the lens and replaced the whole device and the new one looks to be good so far. Honestly, it didn't look like a scratch but more so like a speck of dust since I had the phone for two months and then noticed it.

it’s ‘normal’ if you ask some people in this thread, but I would get it escalated at the apple store
