Looks like mail is down for me and another person herein the office.

This is like the third or fourth time since the "transition" from .mac. In the 2 years I had .mac previously I dont recall my email going down. Not saying it didnt at some point or another, but in the last month with .me, it has been mid afternoon/high traffic time for me. (east coast US)

Mail down here too. I've been lucky so far in that I've had no downtime at all with MobileMe and no mails lost, etc. However, it does seem as if the teething troubles are far from over!
I don't really use my MobileMe e-mail address at all - I use the mainly use iDisk and the sync services to keep my desktop and notebook keychains and entourage notes synced and bookmarks consistent across my computers and iPhone.

seems like the email server i'm on is down too =(
Man ... just when I thought they were getting their act together.

BTW, has anyone else been able to read the iPhone2.0/MobileMe articles at AppleInsider without sneering or feeling a little anger mixed with a dash of outrage??
I mean, they're soooooo bias and they make up so many excuses for MobileMe. They play it all off as if we're all whiners and the whole thing is written with a slight-of-hand style that draws the readers away from Apple's mistakes and focuses more on other company's problems... it's kinda insulting to everyone who's had problems.

Anyone hear as to what is going on? This is a bit rediculous... 99 a year and they can't get it right, gmail is free and hasn't had anything major like this happen that I can recall (at least to me).

And here we go again… :(

Too bad the billing service is not as intermittent as their email service.

Lots of people affected too as far as I can tell by browsing Apples' support discussion forum.

Apple has admitted there is a problem on their Support page for MobileMe... now if only they'd fix the problem...

Edit: Zounds! Someone beat me with the picture...

I have a feeling that this is the big one...

I have a feeling that this is the big one... I feel it in my bones...

Since I use email to communicate with my customers (sending quotes etc.). I guess I better dig out my fax machine... pretty sad apple.

What a surprise!

Friends, let's face it: ImmobilizeMe is a piece of ****, and Eddy Cue would do well to throw the whole thing in the Pacific Ocean and start over.

.mac only did three things, but it did them well and it always did them.

And customer service is almost non existent with mobileme.. Either live chat, which you can wait upwards of 2-3 hours, or email, in which case you'll get a lovely email response in a few days telling you to go read the knowledge base.. If it wasn't such a hassle to have to go and change everything back to gmail (all websites, telling people to use my gmail account again, etc), I'd get a refund.

MobileMe mail down for me as well.

Ironically I didn't have any problem getting Mail during the switchover.

Apple support page has noted it is down.

You know, I guess I'm really patient, But I wasn't really disappointed when they had the mobileme mess at launch (I saw it coming when they decided to launch everything at once), but come on it's what a month since release and they still can't get it together? I've had .mac since 05 and my email has been down more in the past month than it ever was before.

Which is why I have my newly created "secondary" ymail account on yahoo ready to go if this keeps up. May just use MM for contacts/calendar/bookmark syncing with iPhone.

The "BUMMER of 2008" for Apple

.mac only did three things, but it did them well and it always did them.

Hate to say it, but you've got a major point there. I've been a .mac user ever since the original inception of the service, and I've never seen a mess like I have this month with the MobileMe conversion. LOVED .mac, SICK of MobileMe.

What are they going to do - give us all an extra month free? 2 months? Half a year? If the service reliability (or lack thereof) continues in this vein, it won't be WORTH free!

Honestly, the Summer of 2008 is going down in history at the BUMMER of 2008 for Apple. 3G iPhone issues with cracking cases, Apple Logo Screen of Death, poor to non-existent 3G reception issues, 3G iPhones now charge over USB and not FireWire, thus making previous devices obsolete, the MobileMe mess...it's more than embarrassing, it's getting inexcusable.

The PC / Microsoft community must be laughing their a**es off.....

Mail is down again here too. Let's have a party while it's not looking.

I'm not gonna complain though, I got paid off with a free year.

I just signed up and it's down. I didn't even get a chance to use it. I only signed up because I wanted push email.

Looking through this forum it appears that this is not the first instance. I should have done better research. If you bought it online can you get a refund within 30 days or anything?
