Right, today is the limit. Apple QC department really has a lot to answer for. My subscription is up in January and I won't be renewing

Still down for me on iphone, mac and web.

This is first issue I've had with mobileme since I signed up for trial on launch day. There are always so many issues though. Not sure what I'll do when trial is over.

Ironically, my gmail just went down as well :( No MobileMe, no gmail...I feel deprived.

Same here on our Google Apps account:
We’re sorry, but your Google Mail account is currently experiencing errors. You won’t be able to use your account while these errors last, but don’t worry, your account data and messages are safe. Our engineers are working to resolve this issue.

Please try accessing your account again in a few minutes.

Not a good day to be a mail provider...

At least gmail is free, you can afford to be a little accepting of downtime for a free service. MobileMe, OTOH, is NOT free and is far worse than gmail or any other service I have ever seen.

Not free for me - we have (shortly to be had) a Google Apps Premier account and it's been pretty unstable over the last 12 months, including locking me out for 24 hours from my business email because I was accessing it from too many devices and it flagged it as a security issue.

It's been too unstable to use it for what it's sold as - a business mail system and it's because of this we've been using a hosted exchange server for the last few months and are actively investigating other options.

Not trying to defend Apple because the whole MobileMe rollout has been a Cluster ----, but they're not alone when it comes to poor service online.

SAAS is nowhere near ready for prime time IMO.

Well noted. I should probably look for other avenues as well, even for private email.

I'm really surprised by this. I have been a Windows user for 18 years and finally made the jump to Mac a few months ago. I'm really in love with my Mac and it's power but I'm shocked by Apple's behavior with MobileMe.

At nearly $100/year their reliability should be rock-solid. I understand they just rolled out this new service and of course there will always be rocky starts but they should have tested the hell out of this before releasing it to users. Even so, the amount of outages that have been occuring with the mail service is ridiculous. Mail for 1/5th the price has not had as many problems as this.

What make me even more shocked and being a new Mac person I'm starting to realize that Apple just doesn't like admitting when anything is wrong. My mail was down for over 2 hours and there was no sign anywhere from Apple that there was a problem. Why do they keep quiet when problems are presented to them? I've noticed this when other problems arise (MacBook Pro recent display problems)...Apple just buttons their lip until either 1) The problem goes away or 2) they've fixed it. It would be nice to know they are even listening.

I haven't been able to fully use my MobileMe account and I'm contemplating just canceling the service. With as unreliable as the mail has been since its launch, I don't feel like I'll ever be fully comfortable with it to ever use it.

Seriously not cool.
