Hey, that was my first EQ. ;)

Well, that makes you no longer a, uh, uhm, well, you know.....

++++++++

With yesterday's excellent coffee-geek discussion of shot ratios, I thought I would throw this out....picked up years ago following a furious discussion on the subject on alt.coffee. Ah, the good old days. (Credit to the original creator/publisher.)

Anyway, once a puller has "60 ml in 25 seconds" down, this chart can be incredibly helpful in figuring out exactly what you really like....up or down a few ml, up or down a few grams.....and an excuse to create another spreadsheet!

If the great god Dyzan invented a machine that would erase everything I know about coffee except for one thing, I would choose this chart as the one thing.

NB: for any lurkers who are new to pulling shots, please ignore this.....(really).

That's a really cool chart. I'll have to print that too.

Posting on my phone from a flight and sorry not smart enough to link it bit SM Ethiopiques blend is back. Incredible espresso. Buy some. Then buy some more. That's my advice. Very close to the old and forgotten Roman Classic Espresso.

Did you buy the Gaggia from Whole Latte Love? I just got an email from them where they're having a huge Gaggia sale, up to 40% off!

Maybe you can call them up and ask to have the sale applied to your order since you *just* ordered it.

Whew! Excellent then, just excellent.

Although the Amazon price was still cheaper and would have had free two-day shipping, with Whole Latte Love I didn't have to pay tax (errr, ahem, I mean the use tax is deferred until next April;)). I'm also hoping they do a better job of packaging things than Amazon sometimes does.

The bad news is that it ships from the east coast and probably won't arrive until next week. :(

Oh man, the anticipation may be too much for you! I hope you can survive until then, earthquakes not withstanding of course!

The other excellent part of ordering from WLL is that they have a fantastic technical support team. When I ordered my Expobar Office Lever machine, I had to do some internal dialing in adjustments, and they walked me through it step by step while I was doing it. I called on several other occasions, and always found the tech support to be friendly, helpful, and well informed.

Good to know.

Is it here yet? Can I pull a shot now?

If you get a nice shot beforehand, you'll be pumped and primed with espresso to get into work and knock them all out!

So, there's the practical problem of picking up the package from my box, which I can only do between 0830 and 1830. I doubt I'll get back on Tuesday before they close, and that's waaaay too late in the morning on Wednesday. :(

I might not get much sleep Wednesday night, however. :p

I have an old Marine buddy who lives a few hours away in Chico, he might head down there and take pickup your parcel for you!
