My Espresso machine asked for both decalcification and cleaning yesterday.
So I obeyed my Espresso master, and gave it some service and extra attention.

In return I got a bit extra fresh, but as always, a wonderful large espresso today 😋♥️

Did you use citric acid, white vinegar or a descaling product of some kind?

Citric acid, which I've used a long time, are lot cheaper than buying Siemens products for the service I give it myself. Instead of Siemens cleaning tablets I use ecological grinding cleaner.
The machine is happy, and so am I.

My coffee resupply has been effected by the recent fires in Hawaii. The current purchase was processed slower than usual and is now "moving within the USPS network" according to the US Post Office......that means they don't know where it is. It left their facility in Honolulu on Tuesday so it's probably somewhere in Los Angeles now.

I'm leaving on a trip on Monday.......hmmmm, will it get to me before I leave? hmmmmm.....

Ouch.

You have my deepest sympathy, empathy and commiserations.

The best of luck with it.

I consider myself a fairly good espresso enthusiast, but below machine, equipment, espresso artwork or whatever category it belong to, are a bit too high price for espresso for me.

Nah, I love fully automatic machines as well. I'm the lazy espresso enthusiast that want my espresso pronto with just a few buttons to push.

Anyone who want to buy this one?

Agreed.

For my first coffee of the day, I'm not a fan of extra labour, either.

No.

However, if funds permitted, I would be tempted to purchase something Italian, perhaps the home espresso machines by La Marzocco, for example.

Fortunately I have some nice Ethiopian coffee to enjoy while waiting.

Usually the post office tracking fails to update when the Hawaiian order arrives in Los Angeles and then suddenly an email arrives saying it's "out for delivery." This is a group order shared with some other people. It gets delivered to the organizer's address and then everyone will get their part of the order from her. If it arrives before I leave on my trip, then her oldest son will bring it over.

But I'm leaving Monday and time is running out!

I was in Hawaii during the fires. It was horrible and sad. I was lucky enough to be on a different island though and had no trouble filling my extra backpack with eight pounds of coffee beans of assorted varieties. I will not need to order any for quite awhile.

Truly horrible fires and destruction. It's very sad.

And indeed, no update until this morning when an email appeared saying that the package is now "out for delivery" with delivery expected by 7:30PM.

Unfortunately Friday deliveries in my area are very much a "maybe-maybe not" situation, even when tracking shows them to be "on the truck" and "out for delivery"

The good thing about being a coffee aficionado is that friends and family always know what they can give you as a gift. Just received a one and half pound gift from Paradise. With my current inventory, I am good until the end of year, I think.

Ah, well, yes, as long as they have been properly briefed as to what they should give you as a gift.

This is one area where euphemism, or diplomatic understatement, will not work.

In other words, you need to have told them exactly what it is that you want, rather than leaving this to their imagination (or memory).

Excellent.

I find it's often convenient to have friends who are more knowledgeable than myself about certain things, in this case coffee, but it could be wine, desserts, or other things of interest

I have been trying to find some beans here in the local stores in Norway, but not a single product has roastet date or anything, a few has, but that is like roastet 01.02.2023, expire 01.02.2024.

I had a big struggle with my flair 58 in the start, i didnt manage to make a good espresso at all, when i found something online that was roastet within some weeks, it was the easiest thing ever. Anyone had the same experience?

More recently roasted beans should certainly give you better results, but in your case, maybe your skill level with the newly purchased Flair58 had reached the desirable level? Every time I've looked at one of those machines, I've read comments saying it does indeed have a bit more of a learning curve.
