Same for me, Mechanical failure could be underlying many types of issues...we're entering unknown territory.
I have already sold and arranged to get my current macbook pro picked up next Monday, thinking the timing was safe and I would have all weekend to install my new mbp ready for work Monday .

16'' 64GB/2TB, should arrive on the 29th in Switzerland via TNT, stuck in Shanghai for a good day, now in Belgium

Not too bad news I think. Mine seems to have been on the same flight yesterday (3v802) and has moved to Basel. Shipment is still shown as 29 but with a bit of luck it might go out for delivery today. It is still early.
And it wasn't stuck in Shanghai but it was on a long flight with a stopover in Novosibirsk!

I took a video of the blooming, because you really can see the dimming zones go on and off while moving the cursor around. I have to say this is with full brightness. Normally I wouldn't turn the brightness up like this in those conditions. If you use normal brightness it's bare noticeable.

People should be always aware that cameras don’t see like eyes/brain sees so online images are pointless. They need to be aware that any display under $5000 will have some bloom. There might even be moments when mini/micro leds and oleds show a random lit pixel for a few seconds. It’s rare but it happens on all the new display types. It’s not worth losing your mind on the internet over.

I had a call with UPS an hour ago, they also told me that the delivery remains unchanged for the 28th. Though if it doesn't leave Shanghai for Cologne by the end of the day, I don't see how that'd be possible. Basically, it has to be Shanghai -> Incheon -> Cologne or Shanghai -> Dubai -> Cologne.

I am in the same situation, same tracking updates. My delivery is scheduled the 29th for Luxembourg FWIW

I don’t think it’s possible to do China-Europe delivery in one day. Opperator just have the same info than us…

just called apple. Apparently everything is ok, they have my money .

Also in their system the order was sent via DHL not UPS?. She gave me the tracking number- it’s showing the same- stuck in Shanghai

End of the day local Shanghai time or CET? Makes quite a difference.

same here... same status updates, pending charge disappeared, invoice this morning. I wonder if I get a DHL shipment reference as well But delivery to Luxembourg still scheduled for 29th

I have a DHL reference, but it's not updated since Monday. DHL say it's not yet been collected (contrary to the only tracking update, and Apple have no additional info...

I'm not so worried about the blooming. My eyes are getting bad anyway and everything looks blurry all the time ? Still, even with glasses, I'm more worried about the rumours of ghosting. There's a couple of slow motion videos circulating that make it look really bad, particularly with white text on black. Some people don't seem to mind, others dislike it.

yes it is normal. Probably before the end of next week it will update to preparing to ship.
