I woke up to this and my heart jumped. It seems like the issue is resolved though? Not entirely clear by the wording.

If I have to wait for next week, I will get a skin rash or something for the stress, lol.

I think so - whatever it meens (UPS will not fly an empty airplane to Cologne or a failure at the airplane or ... - we have to wait and see)

I guess that's the one with the mechanical failure, as the one that will leave with our MacBooks will leave end of day today (unclear if that's local time or CET, I assume local time). We don't know if the failure is at the plane in Shanghai or the one in Korea though, I assume Shanghai, and this cancelled one won't fly empty. Or rather, it might be sitting there waiting for the Shanghai plane to arrive.

Yeah, that second update specifically adds the "Your parcel is on the way" bit, which apparently marks the package as in transit again.

Before that second update the package was just shown as delayed with no delivery estimate.

Not much we can do but wait and see when UPS actually manages to fly them out to Europe.

I don't think current delivery estimates for the 28th are correct, just hasn't been updated yet to reflect the delay.

Mine has always been estimated for the 29th. Although, I am the UK. So I reckon an extra day to travel from the mainland may be necessary.

The second update seems to indicate that the issue was resolved somehow. Otherwise it wouldn't make any sense.
UPS on twitter: "That is correct, the package is still in China and will be moving today. Please keep tracking the package for further scans.", and when I asked to know when exactly it will move today I got this, "Unfortunately, we do not have that information in the system. Please keep tracking the package for further scans."

How can they still be in China is beyond me. I can't believe they hold them in Asia until the last minute. I would have expected Apple to move them to EU warehouses way ahead of time... It's hard to believe really.

There are a bunch of MacBooks available to pickup a few miles from me. How is it possible that these machines are still in China...
