I see everybody's freaking out....I'm in the same boat (UPS mechanical failure), it should have been delivered today, spent too much time in customs, date was pushed to tomorrow. Most likely, our macbooks will be on a flight towards EU tomorrow morning (EU timezone), and delivery Friday 29 for most of us.

Switzerland here, ordered on the launch day, 16" base with US Int. keyboard, estimated delivery 5. to 10. November...
Corrected est. delivery was for this Friday, but I got a doorbell ring already, impressive from Apple and TNT :)
Interesting, mine was also picked up on the 25th for Switzerland via TNT. This morning it was in Oftringen and now apparently in Elst (Netherlands???), did that happen to yours too?

Did you get the Status "Wird zugestellt" before delivery? Mine arrived in Ittigen this morning at 08:54 and still is in status "Sendung auf dem Weg". Looks like I might have just missed the delivery slot?! Or the tracking is not up to date.

I have that same strange thing. I think it is just an update from the system that it is still "In Transit". Looks like yours also might have arrived too late to load on a truck.

For everyone interested in the UPS thing:
  • I guess all our MBPs are still in Shanghai.
  • The flight from Seoul to Cologne was replaced but our MacBooks are definitely not in there (but backlog due to the mechanical failure is reduced)
  • The mechanical failure and "in transit" thing probably means it is now clear to be moved again. To actually move it needs to have an export or departure scan from the Shanghai airport which is not the case as of now. Our MBPs won't leave Shanghai before tonight when the next flight leaves for Seoul.

The next steps/scans from China to Europe are:
  • Shanghai, China (departs 3-5 AM local time)
  • Incheon, South Korea
  • Almaty Kazakhstan
  • Warsaw, Poland
  • Cologne, Germany (arrives 1-3 AM local time + 1 day)
  • From there it will be flown to other destinations like Austria, the UK, etc. or loaded into a truck.

Prediction based on past deliveries:
  • MBPs will depart from Shanghai tonight (CEST) = Thursday, early in the morning in China
  • MBPs will arrive in Cologne Thursday night/morning between 1 and 5 AM (CEST)
  • Some deliveries could be on Thursday if they have a connecting flight and are close to the destination airport area, most will be on Friday
    e. g. someone lives close to London > there is a connecting flight from Cologne to London > probably Thursday
If they need to ship it on land, it could take another day so that'd be Friday.

Also keep in mind if a connecting flight is missed, it takes another 24 hours to get to the destination. If a package has arrived later than 8-10 AM it is very likely to be delivered on the next day since the delivery trucks are already gone. Also they need to have passed customs already. Else they will be held at Cologne until they can move again.

Mine went from Basel to Ittigen and then to my homeplace :)
I got an SMS that it will be delivered today 30 minutes after it got delivered... haha
Haven't checked any other status, also got no email about the delivery

That’s a great write up!
Mine (probably) wasn’t supposed to leave till today because my delivery date is 29th… so I might join everyone who was supposed to go yesterday for the 28th…

I try to participate in the „tracking“ game but am a noob….
I know about flightradar and flight tracker… but have trouble identifying the UPS planes… does anyone has any tips how to search for possible flights?

I'm also affected by the UPS issue. Doing some digging it appears as if N572UP is the troubled plane. It left Incheon for Shanghai but returned to Incheon after a 40 minute flight. It looks like it was supposed to fly back to Incheon from Shanghai and then to Cologne as UPS11. The replacement flight, UPS11A, is flown by N623UP. It's been in Incheon since Monday, so the cargo for the flight must have gotten to Incheon some other way.

Haha this crazy journey brings back memories from the last big MacBook Pro launch in 2016 ?
Went pretty much the same route back then. I much prefer DHL Express because they have direct freight flights from Shanghai to Leipzig in Germany (twice a day I believe).

Here‘s an excerpt from back then, almost exactly 5 years ago hahaha, History repeats:
Hmm that's strange, mine switched back to "Shipment dispatched" today:

Status Lieferung versandt 1. Dezember 2016
Vorauss. Liefertermin 2. Dezember 2016

Also, I am wondering: now with new flights like UPS11 going from South Korea directly to Cologne, why would our MacBooks still travel through Kazacksthan?

I was just on the phone with Apple, and this time I've got another story: so Apple doesn't ship directly to EU customers from China, first it has to go to EU warehouse, and this is what the UPS tracking number refers to. To this estimate, we have to add a day or two for the delivery to us. According to Apple, the UPS tracking will update itself, once the macs are in said warehouse.

Honestly, in the past 3 days I've heard so many, often contradicting, information, that I don't know what to believe in anymore.

Maybe someone can call Apple and see if this story is confirmed?

USA bound. I've received 4 of these messages in the past days. It's the hope that kills me.

"Your package is in transit. We're updating plans to schedule your delivery. / The package will be forwarded to a UPS facility in the destination city.
Shanghai, China"

However the silver lining is that I was never supposed to receive it early. My delivery dates are Nov 3-5 so I'll just wait.

First time I heard that and somehow I doubt that. Whenever Apple gave me a tracking number, it was delivered at my home, not a EU warehouse. Furthermore UPS My Choice immediately showed this package (before Apple gave me the number), based on my address.

Mine is scheduled to be delivered to Spain between 26 Nov and 3 Dec and also is still processing
That‘s the normal status until it gets shipped.
Mine changed to "Preparing for Shipping" yesterday, and today it shipped.
So I wouldn't expect anything to change till mid/end November for your delivery dates.

Yes, same here. I can already see my package (3.30kgs) in UPS MyChoice originating from China, but it is not even listed in the Apple Order.

On the other hand, I still believe it is possible that Apple sends out big batches of Macs all bundled together in one big freight container, each with their individual shipping numbers, but all traveling together to Europe, where they are then unloaded from the container and the individual packages are distributed.

I’d think that rep described the regular way… (my watch started (according to tracking) in a warehouse in Czechia…
That makes sense if all macs travel together to the warehouse and are assigned to us (specifically) there by apple and not before…

But this time we already have assigned macs that are waiting in china… there shouldn’t be a reason for them to stop at a warehouse…and there isn’t any reason why those macs should be able to tracked by us if they are actually supposed to go to some warehouse instead of our houses just to change the estimated delivery date… that sounds way to confusing without any benefits…

I desperately hope you got false information! Crossing my fingers that the estimated delivery time by UPS is in fact the estimated arrival at our house in our hands and not some apple-warehouse…

This is consistent with my earlier deliveries, especially with DHL. Flight from China goes to the European shipper hub for distributions across the continent.

One indicator of them really traveling together as one bundle would be if the scan times are exactly the same and not apart by a couple of minutes. Do we have any data on that so far?
