My dream of an allover Volt has come true! Volt Splash! Although the primary ends up being “barely volt” as far as the Nike catalog goes. I have a shirt with that exact pair.

Only new Nike goo.

This thing where some new bands come in 40 or 42…40 to “fit“ SE. Seems needlessly confusing. Luckily the Store app knows 42 fits my 40/41mm. Maybe the lug shape will be slightly different.

With a large collection of bands for the smaller sized watch I think I'm again sighing of relief that I can continue to use them with newer models of the watch.
That part of the video where they show the 46mm display being bigger than the Ultra is prob what got caught up in the game of rumor telephone and ended up at “49mm series watch.”

It seems like one aspect of the pre-recorded keynote era is that the video asset always gets out there. Probably goes through too many hands in post?

The new bands seem to come in both a 40mm and 42mm size as separate products for different sizes of the smaller watches.

Only a single 46mm size is offered that is said to be compatible with all the older larger watches.

Weird that the milanese loop and link bracelet designed for the new titanium Series 10 watches are still made out of stainless steel! I'm guessing that applies to the pin on the sport bands too

If that is the case, does that mean the silver one is the same as the prior, or was it redesigned like the loop?

With the new 42mm size, do we think the bands that fitted the larger size previously will work with this model as 42mm used to be the large size in the past?

I read the details under band compatibility but I’m not sure if this answers the scenario I’m asking about.

45mm was already pushing it in terms of how large I would like the watch to be.

I think titanium is softer right? And I don’t think they’d be worried about weight with a metal band.

The new 42 is compatible with 38/40/41 of old. See the Apple Store app or website for more

They stopped making the iPhone mini so it felt quite a believable rumor. I think most of us assume at some point they'll do a major redesign that will break band compatibility leaving some of us with a big collection we wont know what to do with.

My personal hope at this point is they've kept the same connector and sizes for so long, that if a new redesigned Watch is released they may continue the old style with the upgraded internals as some kind of "Classic" model to keep the old band collectors happy. Just doesn't sound financially viable for Apple.

The magnetic connector exists. I wonder if it ever sees the light of day

They must of kept the narrower lugs of the smaller size.

If I didn’t have such a large band collection in the larger size I would have downsized. Not looking forward to a 46mm lol…

I’m assuming the 40mm and 42mm bands looks nearly identical but have subtly different curves to match an SE and S10 corner/edge respectively.

Especially a sport loop where the plastic on newer bands leaks out on older watches.

I am more curious about the difference in size between 40mm/42mm/46mm bands. With both s/m and l/g, thats A LOT of skus!

Well Apple says 42mm and 40mm are the same size and compatible with one another so my confusion comes from why Apple has decided to make them two separate buttons when ordering bands
