wow that’s insanely close. Super helpful picture. Thanks a ton! Might pass on this one as I prefer beryl anyways.
I think all that's worth adding is that the colour you wear it with can pull out the blue vs green. My wife has a dress that's pretty much Beryl and a jacket that's Turquoise. If she matches the Beryl band with the jacket it looks off, and same if she puts the Turquoise next to the dress.

That said I picked up a cheap Turquoise a few weeks ago and that pretty much sealed the deal that I won't bother buying Beryl for myself..

I need some help in identifying this color. I purchased this Nike Sport Loop without a box, and it wasn't listed with the name of the color.
As @toxtrepla stated and photographed, it's definitely Midnight Fog. Just check for the badge he illustrated- it could be a fake.

Very close. Turquoise on the left, Beryl on the right. THese are my wife’s unused M/L 40mm sections.

Very helpful as always. I actually really like both colors- might buy a Beryl now. Quit making me buy more bands... or dont...

Where is this, and how much was the deal for if you don't mind me asking? Found one on a local app, but the seller wanted $50 more than the listed price...

You and me both. Actually only wearing sport bands in the daytime for this reason, and then I switch to a loop just before calling it a night (of course!)

(And yet, how many of us just bought Hermes bands in the last 2 weeks alone?! Lol)
I'm wearing almost exclusively sport bands. Not that I really wear leather or sport loops, but I've retired most woven nylons as they're too absorbent, and the link bracelet has been sitting in my drawer.

Speaking of, I'd love to see your guys' storage solutions. I want to eventually get those 3D printed wall mounted ones, but having a local print and ship them gets expensive, so I unfortunately can't do that quite yet.

I think I have a problem... I just picked up a red apple I was eating and when I saw my Denim Blue band with it my first, subconscious, thought was “OMG, my watch band clashes with that!” Then I realised it was my lunch and it’s ok not to coordinate with food...

"Oh crap, gotta change my band. This PB&J doesn't match my Spruce Fog!"

So I just unboxed the SBSS. It shipped with zero battery - so little that it just gave me the wiggly line and red spark symbol when I tried to turn it on. My wife's S5 Hermes was the same when she got it around 6 weeks ago, but I thought that might have been because it took 5 weeks to get it from Apple Australia to her in New Zealand (which in hindsight would only make sense if it ad been packed while turned on).

I haven't put a band on it yet, but it's charging on my MBP now. I'm kinda disappointed the charging puck is SS rather than SBSS. not that I'm going to take it out of the box regardless.

Initial impression is it looks smaller than SS - in fact I just checked it's 44mm in case I mis-ordered. I'll let it charge and then restore it before I put a band on it and wear it.

I believe they're just sitting in the factory depleting battery. Most all devices ship with little left, and with the watches being the smallest batteries in any modern Apple device, I'm sure they're just depleting fast.

I would imagine this is just to save costs. I do know, however, there are a few third party companies who will gold plate your charger if you're into that sort of thing.

Could just be an illusion. The black may blend in more to the surroundings, which blurs the edges. I did the same when I got my 42mm sbss s0 after a year or two of owning the 42mm s1.

I’ve got 3 of this:

Plenty of similar options in varying styles / slot-counts.

Upside: organized and on display.

Downside: large foot print (especially as your collection grows!)

I thought things tend to ship about 60-80% as that is best for Li batteries to be stored at.

Otherwise you are right - not having the shiny rim makes the all-black body look more compact, at least without a band attached.

I have no interest in a gold plated charging puck - nor a black one really, but I remember it was pointed out that the S0 SS had a silver one while the Sport Watch as it was back then was white plastic. I never really considered if the GSS or SBSS would have a matching one or not. Do Alu Watches still come with a white plastic puck ir is everything shiny now? I don't think I ever unboxed the one that came with my Nike. Maybe the white plastic ones are rare now...

Also a new learning is that I wasn't offered a backup of one of my current Watches to restore from. Shame as I was going to clone my SS S5 in the hope they'd keep a somewhat similar layout in the App screen that way, and I don't have to set up all my faces again. That said I'll probably want different faces with the black body to the silver at least in some cases. Anyway, it's a new Watch now.

Someone asked for Surf Blue on SBSS I think. My wife’s S/M 40mm on my 44mm Watch and distinctly not S/M wrist (sorry for the out of focus on the Watch)

FB marketplace. After some back and forth I ended up snagging it for 20 boxed. Probably didn’t “need” it but you know...

$50 more is rough when Beryl is still in stock on Amazon and it’s close enough for most people.

Pretty sure aluminum watches still come with a white plastic charger, but I don’t know for sure. Only watch I’ve unboxed is a Space Gray Series 1, which I’ve been using for almost 3 years now. The white gets a bit boring though, so I decided to buy a SS one off eBay for like $5. Works great, and the added weight stops it from falling off the table.

So, after a few hours I wasn’t sure I was feeling black. Then this. This is why I bought it.
Love the Olive Flak color every time I see it. Still waiting for a good deal on one, but most listings are $70+. Really wishing I bought it from Apple, but I started collecting the bands far too late.

Awesome! I found one on eBay for about the same price, but the seller set the shipping to $20, for a 7oz package at most. Think I’ll keep looking elsewhere. Congratulations on your purchase! You may not need it, but it’s always nice to get a new color in.

I have a Hyper Grape Nike band and it’s honestly one of my least favorites. The color in person was a lot more murky than in photos - I love purple and teal and figured the combo would be amazing but, meh. However I only have one other reflective band and I run 6 days a week, so come wintertime I’m in the dark and I wear it a lot for added reflection and safety so I won’t sell it.

I see, I can understand that, definitely agreed w/ you about the safety. I felt the same way about the midnight blue/black split sport loop I bought with my series 5 last fall, and never wore it. I love blue and thought the blue/black combo would be great, but looked so dull and boring to me. Being a fan of blue and also teal like you, I am considering picking up the surf blue sport band (which I had previously but returned since I wasn’t sure) or the Nike Neptune green sport loop with the orange/teal combo, which looks like could upstage the hypergrape for me. I just don’t want to get both and spend a 100 :(

They no longer ship the white pucks, all of them are the same steel backing at this point. I actually kind of preferred the look of the white one from my wife's watch- something about the plastic is just fun to me.

Funny you say that...

I actually feel the same way about the Hyper Grape sports bands (not the loop). The purple loses its intensity over tie and just looks bland on the wrist. REALLY hoping to see more shades of purple come out sometime. A purple band with black cutouts would be amazing.

I'm disappointed how little the purple shows through on the Hyper Grape band. I know it gets a lot of love on here, but unless the lighting is bright to me it isn't much different to Anthracite/Black.

I bought mine used but its in good condition and I gave it a clean just because eeew someone else I've never met wore it, but I don't think it has dulled, I just think the purple in the holes isn't prominent enough. Black/Pink Blast and (my least favourite band of all) Black/Volt both pop in a way I wish Hyper Grape did also.

Dang, these nylon loops are comfy! $50 is definitely a lot for it, but what the heck. Looks and feels good. The sport band is nice too. I love the way the Milanese looks but I’m constantly re-adjusting it throughout the day. Still itching for the Hermes.... haha. I feel like all this apple marketing is really starting to work on me- who am I? Buying “seasonal” colors and cases!? What a world we live in.
