Nice BOSE speakers.... good to know someone else (my age) believes in paying more for the BEST sound quality! :)

What sounds better, a $600 Bose Wave Radio or a $300 iPod Hifi?

iPod Hifi

I like their headphones but I think everything else is over priced.

surely it would be easier to compare the bose soundock and the ipod hi-fi, and not the bose with addded radio and cd player. hrmm?

My new Mac Pro and 20" ACD. Will be 19 in April, and paid for this stuff thanks to a horribly busy first semester (35hr work week+university).

Pretty hefty schedule.

Why did you work so much? Where?

I work at Best Buy. It's lame, but I basically do what I want and get some pretty good benefits.

I worked the amount because I wanted money. It honestly wasn't that bad, aside from the fact that I had no life last fall. Barely any time for school (easy schedule, though), let alone for the girlfriend. I'm now back down to about twenty hours/week, and it's great.

Ok how much does a radio and CD player cost for bose to throw in? Well they like to charge people an extra $100 for a CD player in the wave radio but I am sure it costs them very little.

The iPod HiFi is is a lot louder and has a lot more bass. I will give the Bose the award for being able to make music sound like its coming from the room you are in even when you are in another room. It also has the ability to run on batteries and it doesn't need a power brick.

PC world liked the Hifi more than the Bose overall. I would say the bose looks better, but I like my hifi more.

That said I am sure you could probably find a better setup then both the bose and the hifi for $300.

Oh that's not bad at all.

What's your major?

Spanish, German, and International Affairs as of right now. We'll see how it all works out as I'm down to about two years left. Graduate school is a yes, just have to figure out where! How about yourself?

Communications, Sociology and Leadership.

I, too, have two more years left and graduate school is up next.

Very nice man. Best of luck to you in your search of a school! Perhaps you've narrowed it down, but I still am not sure. We've got some time though.

And thanks Silbeej and tMac85! I do appreciate that. I enjoy what I've got going on in here quite a bit. Though it doesn't help with the sedentariness, as I love sitting behind this beautiful screen and using the beast.

HDV Editing. I may be in school but that doesn't mean I can't have a job ;).

To make it a bit clearer as to what I use my mac for, though, I've just enclosed a pic of my dock (which I had previously posted in the 'post your dock' page...

<snip>

Edit: oh, and, by the way, I've already answered that question :p

Sure is a beautiful machine. I have a side gig freelancing for people all over the country.. but my parents refuse to let me buy a Mac Pro with my own money :( (They are a rags to riches couple, so i'm guessing they're trying to teach me how to manage my money). I've been stuck with the same computer for almost four years.. but it's the indian, not the arrow. I'm jealous!

I don't see anything wrong with owning a Mac Pro.. If you've earned it, then it's a worthwhile investment! It's one solid machine.. i'm hoping to own one in a few months (when march SATs are out of the way, of course)!

I'll hopefully be getting my first mac soon. So my picture will be coming up momentarily.
