Are you living at home? I hope your parents make you pay some type of rent and don't just let you spend all your money on toys.

okay:

$899 for the NEW Apple display
$1599 for the NEW Apple macbook
$599 for the 1st gen iphone (if bought new)
$69 Mighty Mouse
$79 Wireless Keyboard

= $ 3,512.69 including tax!!!

I know a lot of people are asking you kids how you got some of these things but, Seriously how did YOU buy those things?

As you see in my sig I have a lot but I have 2 jobs and I am 20 and in college using it for graphic design, but in high school? What could you possibly NEED this much high end equipment for in high school ?

As I've stated in previous posts, I've payed for everything I have (MBP, iPhone 3g, iPod Nano, Apple Keyboard, numerous external HDs, a few logitech mice, etc.).

Now as to how I pay for it:

I'm 17 and starting my Junior year in college (a little ahead of schedule). I do web and iPhone development in my spare time and make pretty good money doing it. Hope this answers that question.

As to why I need it:

As I said, I do web, and iPhone development. Enough said, I use every ounce of CPU/RAM I have at some points during the day (2.4GHz/4GB). (I also use my MBP for school assignments)

Hope this clears up the fact that at least some of us do pay for and use what they have.

Carlisle, Up Norf!
I hardly see why it matters what you need a setup for. There is no such thing as over kill really (within reason, mother ****ers), it's surely just what you want/can afford...

Some of you guys are really lucky and talented to have such nice stuff! Remember to invest some of it in the stock market, kids. Things might keep getting crappier but at some point later in life you'll be happy you invested :D

Here's my setup. I'm 17 and in a graphic design course. I'm at home and I've got no good camera other then my cellphone. I also have no desk to put things and being alone, so my stuff is pretty much all the time on my bed. I use a old hard poster when I need to use my mouse / want to play games.

2.4 GHz unibody MacBook
4GB iPod Nano 2g, will be updated to a grey 8GB iPod Nano 4g.
Sennheiser HD202

Here is my updated setup. I posted a while back, but I made enough changes that I deemed it worthy of a new post. Sorry about the blurry pictures, I think my camera was out of focus and had the wrong settings. By the way, I am almost 15. Pictured is an iMac (20", 2.0ghz, 1gb RAM, 250gb HDD), iPod Touch (32gb), Apple Universal Dock, Aluminum Wired Keyboard, 500gb WD My Book Home Edition (for iTunes and iPhoto), Maxtor One Touch Plus 4 750gb (Time Machine), Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000, Uniden Cordless Phone, Polk Audio I-Sonic ES 2, HP Photosmart C4280, Samsung Glyde, Shure SE210s, a Universal Remote control, Sharp 26" 1080i LCD TV, DirecTV HD reciever. Not Pictured is another iMac (another family member's), an Airport Extreme, and an Airport Express, as well as numerous iPods.

For all you who think people are spoiled, all of the things I have here were either purchased by myself from working over the summer or given as gifts. The only thing that was neither is the iMac itself, which my parents bought to get me and my sibling to move.

Sorry guys :(...
I'm 14 and my parents won't let me get a Mac because they're too expensive and "we'd have to get all new software" (dad's word, not mine). So I decided to take on a little project known as MacBook Nano ;).
Using my new Eee 1000H, I created a MacBook Nano. And just before the year was over, upgraded the RAM to 2GB and the HDD to 320GB.
So my specs are as follows:
1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU
2GB RAM
320GB HDD
Intel GMA 950
1.3MP webcam (compatible as an iSight camera :D)
Ralink RT2860 Wifi (working with the new Taiwan Ralink driver)
Multi-touch trackpad (some gestures working e.g. 2 finger scroll)
Sound (working due to AzaliaAudio and Audieee)
External Samsung DVD-RW with Lightscribe.
So there is my setup. My :apple: MacBook Nano :D

EDIT: I also have an unlocked iPhone (EDGE) and a 30GB iPod Video 5G

I'm glad I'm not the only person who uses their bed as a setup. I have a really nice Dell Dimension desktop with a Dual Core AMD processor and 4GB of RAM, and it never gets turned on! :D
