The Power Behind it all.....
power.jpg

Nice.

On note of selling old computers. If I were to sell my powerbook say 10 months from now (1.33ghz G4, 1 gb ram, 120 gig hdd, OSX 10.4.10) on ebay how much do you suspect I could scramble for it.

I'm not sure how much they tend to depreciate but would 700 be possible?

is it a p-p-p-powerbook? lol. Is it a 12"? those are supposedly in high demand. and apple computers hold their value really well. imo 700 is optimistic...maybe 600, but even if you get 550 it's still pretty good for an old computer! my 2.5 yr old 700m is worth like 300 bucks!

No, there are many of us out there. Perhaps the rest of us would have worded his explanation differently, though. :p

It maybe wasn't the greatest arrangement of words.

Sorry for the double post, but I just randomly decided to post my current setup.

Currently my dad's MacBook, while my MacBook Pro is in for service (again).

Great as always Alex. I see new B&W speakers! What happened to the old B&W's? I'll pray that you didn't get rid of them cause they are some kick-ass speakers . . .

Yeh, they're sitting at the other end of my room at the moment, unused.

I would never get rid of them, I love them to bits. They were my first hifi speakers (went all the way up to London with my dad to get them).

The DM7s are just like, wooooooah in comparison. I don't need to use a sub with them, which is the first advantage because my subwoofer is pretty crap (and I like deep bass :D), they soundstage beautifully, and when listening late at night, you can turn the volume right down and they still sound wonderful.

That and an all-round massive step up in sound is why I use them. Had them rebuilt last year.

You have Geogaddi on vinyl?

Yep. And it sounds s.w.e.e.t. It's the most beautifully packaged music I've ever laid my hands on.

KillyP: sweet room, i notice the macbook really dominates the desk :D

Yeh, the MacBook Pro seems somehow more 'descreet' in a strange way, despite being bigger and shinier in every possible way.

yet another update

trashed the garbage Dell LCD and Compaq CRT, got myself a new 19" wide on MA's tax-free holiday.

(I know the iBook is missing, and for that matter so is my Wallstreet, but they are merely in other rooms right now being used by various family)

Heres some new snippets, as well as my pile-o-iMacs.

No rule against posting in both "Setup" threads, right?

Anyway, I'm 15 (for the next week, anyway,) and this is my new setup...
