That new iMac really looks great, i want one!:p

I am 12 and this is my setup. Note: MY setup, not my families set up. I customised the iMac, I chose the desk, bought the keystation etc. etc. I have also included a picture of my families neighboring Windows set up for wackiness purposes.

So this is my set up. In this picture you can see the iMac, the Apple keyboard and Mighty Mouse (soon to be replaced with new keyboard and Logitech MX Revolution, more pics coming then), my M-Audio Keystation 49e, my desk fan, my basket of CDs, cables and some toffees , my USB hub and my chair of awesomeness.

The iMac is the 20" '06 model, I got it in April '07. It has a 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo, 128MB ATI Radeon X1600, 1GB RAM (soon to be 3GB) and a 500GB hard drive.

This is my USB 2.0 hub close up. That silver cable connects the hub to the iMac, and the white cable is my keystation's cable, and then there's my USB pen (256MB, supplied for free by BP because my Dad works for them). I particularly like the simplicity of the hub and stick, and I hate complex stuff because it stands out against the iMac. I am soon going to buy a cable to put in the hub so that it will power all the devices fully, but USB power is fine for now. I know this is one sexy hub, but unfortunately its from Japan and is extremely rare :(

This is my family's printer, which I also use. We have a scanner hidden under their desk too. The printer is quite old now, and Epson Stylus Photo 890, and I hope to soon encourage them to replace both the printer and scanner with an HP Photosmart all-in-one. I just hooked up the printer to my iMac today, because I was having alot of trouble finding a damn A-to-B USB cable, but I just found one lying around (It connects to the PC with the legacy Parallel port). Next to it, the home phone.

STUFF YOU MAY NOT CARE ABOUT

This is my family's PC setup, which I thought i'd show you because I don't feel like dancing. As you can see, it is humorously ridden with wires. The PC is a piece of crap Tiny computer, Tiny shutting down mere months after we bought this computer. We got this PC in 2003 or 2004 I think, and now it just makes me laugh.

Specs:
AMD Athlon 64 4200, I believe
ATI Radeon 9500, used to be 9800 until the graphics card completely died for no reason
19" CTX screen
Stereo Yamaha speakers, which we had had since sometime in the 90s and they sound slightly worse than my iMac's built in speakers
Some sort of keyboard that came with the PC (it uses PS/2)
Some sort of Optical mouse, which has hidden itself under the left side of the monitor. It uses USB.
My camcorder, which, like much of my life was before I finally got my first Mac in April, is OLD. It's a Sony DCR-TRV230E, non-widescreen, Digital 8 (haha, remember those?) tapes. In short, not good, but I am going to buy a 1080i camcorder in April next year.
On the right there is another camcorder...yes OK, lemme explain. This one is slightly different, a DCR-TRV240E, which has less features. This one does time lapse and poor imitation stop-motion (1 fps :D). However the Firewire socket is dead and I use it only for time lapses now.
The DCR-TRV 230E may actually not be a 230E, because I had like three of these darn things, until the screen on one broke off and my mother stepped on the other. My Dad actually took them apart and put the working parts together to make this miracle of nature!
You can see the scanner I mentioned earlier on a shelf next to the PC. It's a Xerox of some description.
There is a desktop mic vaguely visible lying down under the printer. This is a Labtec Desk Mic 534, an awesome microphone but unfortunately isn't USB so doesn't work with the iMac, I may get an adapter sometime though.

so there you go. My set up. Sorry if I dragged on a bit with the other desk, but hey why not.

I love this shot, the fact that it shows off the glossy the screen. So what do you prefer to work on, the iMac with the glossy screen, or the MBP with the Dell? with them side by side is there a huge colour difference the fact the Dell is matte which I like, and glossy of the iMac...
Even though the iMac is a better machine, i'm still using my MBP. I just love it, it has been perfect and have no reason to change it.

Now...the screen. The iMacs screen is amazing, so crisp and definitely better than my Dell 2407WFP. The colours are so rich. Since i work with photographs, i like matt screens, but for movies etc the iMac looks outstanding. Seriously, it has an awesome display.

12 years old?

Blah... you all should feel very lucky that you have parents that support your techy "needs." While my parents support me, they won't, and never would help me out with any of my equipment.

I'm 19 btw... (here's my setup)

I'm 18..

The first time I saw this it made me think it was a hairdryer. Or a bunsen burner of some sort. Don't ask me how! :freaky:

[Edit] Just noticed he's banned.
