wow im soo glad this thread i started is still alive
504 post nice
ill get everyone an update of my setup some day

This thread really does shed some light on the fact those those who want nice things either have parents who spoil them, or they get out and get a job. With all the money I have invested in the past 3 and half years on all of things that I have (two summers of working, equates to over $2000) I could have the Powerbook that I want now. The only thing my parents are going to help me with is getting a car, and then I will have to get a job. As long as I drive that car I will have to pay for my own gas and insurance. I will be paying for gas, insurance, and putting a little bit away to savings each month. Hopefully mix that money with graduation money at the end of the year aswell as maybe some scholarship money I should have my 12inch Powerbook in June.

What I think is funny is that when a friend sees my room and they call me spoiled. The fact is that I paid for the items that are sitting on my desk (well minus some small gifts and a much smaller amount of money from mom and dad).

..and while I am at here.. here are some more photos, same stuff different views:

Here is a picture I had to dig up so you can see what my homebrew linux box looks like. Nothing fancy but I like it:

second one= server - iBook G4 512mb 80gb 1.42GHz G4 ( look closely and you'll see it sitting on top of the tower) = old picture a month ago
first one = workstation w00t
^That is a 2.7GHz celeron Compaq sr1010v, 1.5 gb, 80gb, 19" (now for server), imac g3 500, 256, dvd, ibook g4 1.42 1.5gb 80gb and an imac g5 17" 1.9 = stock

I paid for EVERYTHING myself

I posted this one in the "Post your Mac Setup" thread, but forgot to put it in here when I did.

I moved my production company into a new office, downtown. This is the setup in my new edit suite (the photo was taken for an article Post magazine is writing about my company - more on that soon - but that's why I'm in this one.)

BTW - 17 in 10 days :D

Posted the same thing in the other forum, but didn't see this one. It isn't much, but it is what I currently have. Have been building this set-up for the past 3 and half years. Hoping to add a 12inch Powerbook G4 to this set up in the near future (or when money permits.. if that isn't the near future.. before june I hope.. we will see)

99 pages of awesome mac set-ups. I love it! I am still going through all the pages but thought I would post the pictures of my living quarters/amateur radio shack/computer room/office :)

Picture 1- Most of the room showing My IBM 390X, Homebrew Linux Box, Ipod, and one Macintosh 5500.
Picture 2- You can see the Macintosh 5500 better
Picture 3- Better view of the ipod.. sadly that is a Thinkpad and not a Powerbook on that corner of the desk..
Picture 4- Bedside Macintosh 5500 for that latenight computing (Mostly IRC/Web surfing)

Try to count how much Apple Paraphernalia you can see in the pictures.

Looks like you're into ham radio - am I correct? If so - awesome! (and what is your call sign?) I've been meaning to get my ham radio license, but haven't found the time. Ah, well - eventually!

Cool, can't wait to see your office! :)

Sorry if I missed it - but where do you work? Into graphics, web design, video, or something else?

(Of course, since you're a mac user I automatically assume you're in a creative/design business :D ;))

maestro55, looks a bit cluttered in there. Nice throwback Mac though, my Dad's friend had one much like it with a TV tuner card.

Ummm... except for the fact that your mom gave you $500 for the iMac...

though i do not have pictures, i will try to give you a mental picture of my set-up. btw; i'm 16, i have a job and i buy all my own stuff.

a g4 ibook (see my sig for specs) on a custom made aluminum lap desk (think a really wide aluminum plate with small holes in it for extra cooling) with a microsoft (boo!) mini usb mouse and a targus cool pad (laptop stand, my ibook's best friend)

there is no better feeling than playing diablo 2 on a cold winter morning in bed...now to find me a woman! :D

12" 1.5ghz PB with 768 ram, every kind of nintendo thing, bluetooth mouse, video ipod, Logitech Z3 speakers. I'm 16 & work at McDonalds and bought it all (paid for half the comptuer though) Any other McEmployees here?

Cool photo! The illusion of a transparent screen is pretty neat. :)

You people with clean set-ups call yourself nerds! HA! :)

I tend to collect a lot of junk and it causes a nice interested clutter.
