I wish my grandparents would buy me a 20" Display! ;) Do you have any pics of your setup???

I wish my grandparents were still alive.

Heck even my parents would do.

You guys are out of touch with reality. Not ragging on you Wes, but enjoy your folks and grandparents for them, not for what they might represent in Apple gear.

Just because you could buy a car for $3000 when they were teens...

Why do we have to go over this ever 3 pages???

What do you mean "when they were teens"??

My first car will probably cost me about $3000 when I eventually have to get one. Haven't any of you kids ever heard of second hand??

He's right...boxes vs people.

Just because you didn't make money at your age, and couldn't save towards a common goal, does not mean that no one else can. All I'm gonna say. I got most of my money from graduation and dog sitting on my block and working part time as a computer tech/assistant at my dad's company.

Anyway, here is my setup. I will post a better looking one when I get my desk up in a few months.
Hey Caitlyn, what keyboard protector are you using there and do you mind commenting on it?

I've been looking into getting one for my iBook but I've heard that they don't fit properly.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks. :)

What case is your 5G in that it can still fit in the dock with it? Is it a 60 or 30?

it's the Agent 18 Videoshield for my 30GB, and i removed the dock adapter for the 5G from the universal dock....there's loads of space, so almost every case should be able to remain on the iPod whilst in the dock.

as with regards to the subwoofer, there simply isnt enough space because of all the rubbish under my desk as well as my printer....i have to completely remove everything from my room at easter because the student halls are used for other things.....i should be able to put it on the floor when i come back. if not, ill have to wait until october when i move into my student house....in this room, EVERYTHING is nailed to the wall or floor, which explains the wires trailing at the back...behind the subwoofer is a forest of wires and multi adapters....wires are my pet peeve, so i do my best to hide them:D

thanks tho, i so badly want to put it on the floor! the sound is quite good for where it is though.

Yes, I did have to pay for it myself, but that is good, it made me appreciate all that my parents do for me, and if they would have bought it for me, I wouldn't be taking such good care of it. And there it is on my desk, or my legs, I was going to get an iMac G5, but then couldn't resist the iBook when i saw it and figured I could take it anywhere, and I dont really need all that proccessing power, This G4 flies through anything I throw at it.

Here's my view on the worked for your computer thing.

I know that I do not live off of my parents, when it comes to things I don't 100% need (iPod etc.). I have to do a paper round every day, as its all I can do at my age, and I work in a local school over holidays, in the IT department. I obviously can't say what the case is with other teens, but I find many save up for a bit, and then their parents *help* them with the last bit.. Its up to you to decide whether that means they are spoilt. I know my parents wouldn't give me any money towards a computer, when we have a family one.

Well said Jack. That is the same case with me, and I'm 16.
The great gear you see down in my sig. is a combination of saving up and money from Chinese New Year (we get quite a lot).

We certainly aren't spoiled!

i've got thesame desk, but never realized it looks so nice with noting on it, i've got so much crap on mine, time to clean and maybe snap a pic.

Heres my setup, I had more stuff but it was moved to our library. Under the desk amongst the plethora of wires is a Samsung ML-2251N laser printer, a Canon iP6000D photo printer, and that loud machine that keeps breaking (I think its called a PC).
and if you are wondering, yes there are corpses in my closet
