kinda like the old one still an iBook can never look bad:rolleyes:

Nope. You're right, not a lot of change, but the PC and LCD wasn't even on this desk before. I like the one above the other setup, it's really cool.

Here's my humble (compared to others in this thread) set up:

Laptop:
  • HP DV1000 Series (Centrino) Notebook
  • Pentium M Processor 740, 1.73 GHz 2MB L2 Cache
  • 14" High Definition Widescreen w/ BrightView
  • 1GB DDR-400Mhz SDRAM
  • 100GB 4200 RPM Hard Drive
  • 6-in-1 Media Card Reader
  • LightScribe 8X DVD±RW DL Combo Drive
  • Windows XP (with Windows Blinds to take away the ugly) and "Quickplay" for DVD's/music without booting to windows
  • HP Mobile Remote control (tucks away in PC slot) for music, video, powerpoint, etc.

Peripherals/Accessories:
  • Wirelessly networked to HP LaserJet 1320
  • Wirelessly networked to HP PhotoSmart 8250
  • BenQ M310 Wireless Optical Mouse
  • 2nd-Gen 6GB Silver iPod Mini
  • Canon PowerShot Digital Elph SD400
  • Creative Labs I-Trigue 2200 Computer Speakers
  • Black Motorola RAZR Cell Phone

However my first mac is on its way! I ordered a 20" iMac (Intel Core Duo, 1GB Ram, 256 video) which is expected to arrive on Wednesday. I plan on keeping my PC notebook for taking to school, and having the iMac in my room!

One of my favorite HP laptops.... :)

I'm starting to think I move too much.

Here's my setup at my new office -- this one is located in the Old City Hall building, pretty much the nicest office building in town. I'm signed into a lease on this one -- so I won't be moving for a good long while.

There's some new equipment this time around, too -- notably, I sold by iBook and picked up a PowerBook, and I picked up a professional Sony HD monitor -- the quality is so amazing, it makes my 30" set look like SD!

17, BTW -- Video production really pays off! :)

What that thing next to the Studio??? I can't tell. I like the setup but one thing is really bothering me. The blue etherenet cable just doesnt go with the PB, you need a black or white one. Sorry, I'm really weird about those kind of things.

Next to the Studio display? On the left side is the professional-grade Sony HD monitor -- basically, an really, really sharp HDTV. As mentioned, my Sanyo HDTV (the one on the right side of the image, a (gulp) Wal-Mart set) looks like standard def next to the Sony.

On the right side is a Peavey audio mixer. I use it to route the various decks to the Power Mac and speakers.

As to the blue Ethernet cable, that's a temporary thing. I don't have my wireless router set up in the new office yet. Once that's all set, I can get rid of the ethernet cable. :)

Yeah I'm talking about the Sony on the left. Thats weird, I've never seen one before.

Good thing about the ethernet cable. haha. For some odd reason it was really bothering me.

So when are you getting your 30" ACD??? ;) :p

No new ACD any time soon - I'm saving up right now for a huge project that may come this summer. More on that later. I'll keep you guessing for now. ;)

oooooooo... bigger than the Frito Lay project?

Well, for me it's a much bigger deal. It's not a huge client or anything like that -- it's actually a local business opportunity. That's the reason I'm saving up - there's a decent bit of cost involved on my end.

I'm making a presentation about it late next month, and I should be able to say more after that.

[edit] How do I post the picture? I have it in iPhoto, but it appears as though the file size is too large.

If it's in iPhoto go to share>Export and resize it. 800x600 is good.
If you want to keep it the same size go to http://www.imageshack.us and host it there.

damn... a lot of people in this thread getting presents from mommy and daddy...

i'm 14 years old, turning 15 in april. i run a ****** ass IBM thinkpad T22 that my dad got for free along with a dell laptop from his promotion to VP @ his job. it's painful to run a copy of photoshop CS2 on a pentium 3 (733 mhz, 128 mb of ram, 16 mb gfx).

i do a bit of graphics design (mainly commercial web design). and i'm saving it up to help pay things for the family, and buy power+aesthetic mods for my brother's RSX type-s :). i can see that's not the case for most of you guys here..

graphics design pays well. depending on what the company is asking for, we usually get a (in total amount) 1k-5k (Max) and split it in 1/2...
it takes me 30mins-1 hr to finish a design. you guys do the math.

am i jealous?? hell yes, lots of you guys are running sick ass setups that i can only dream of. props to having a hot setup, thumbs down to the spending.

admit to using warez on a forum that strongly rejects all comments about illegal activities. nice job

i'm sorry, didn't know that buddy.
as you can see, this is my third post on MacRumors. please untighten your butthole now.

I wish I had a desktop type setup to plug my iBook into like that. I love laptops, it's just not comfortable using them for long periods of time.
However, I'm back and forth between locations and constantly in airports so I suppose I shouldn't spend the money.

untighten my butthole? Who on earth do you think you are? Grow up kid, stop complaining about free computers from your dad, and stop wasting them on illegaly downloading expensive software. Thanks.

as said before, get up off your ass and go somewhere else besides trolling a macrumors newbie. you're telling ME to grow up? oh boy.. how ironic. i'm not the one butt hurt over a tiny post.

people can only talk sh*t in front of their monitors. i'm not trying to provoke anything. k? thanks. just forget about it, it's just a forum.

Gosh. I can only be that good at video editing to make my own company. I'm a noobie at video editing, but I can do it. Just a weebit. No like stunning videos, though.

Just remember -- practice makes perfect. :)

When I look at my early work, I cringe at the quality. It takes time to get good at video editing - or anything else!
