Got mine way ahead of the promised date (August 14th) 😀

Love it!! Raw dogging it right now (got the Care+ free from carrier)

Good looking too (over the previous ones imo) in Blue, with the defined edges, flush fit (better than the F5 iirc ) and nice bright screen!

I have to agree after five different cases. The official Samsung S Pen case for Fold6 is better than the Fold5 version. The Fold6 iteration appears to have a larger S Pen hump, but that's because the rest of the case is 1-1.5mm thinner than the Fold5 S Pen case.

I have tried three different S Pen cases and the Samsung case is easily my favorite for design, protection, weight, and feel. I added a MagSafe magnet to the back and should be good to go with my car mount and MagSafe kickstand.

Which Magsafe magnet did you get? This is the direction I'm leaning. Do you happen to have a pic of your case with the magnet on it?

This is unrelated, but it’s crazy how the media is going crazy over these Apple Intelligent features when Google and Samsung has been ahead of it all along… which seemingly gets swept under the rug.

The Verge did a review on the latest Samsung foldables and barely acknowledge any AI features… didn’t dive into any details about them either (nothing about the S-Pen as well). And I wager when iPhone 16 series comes out with Apple Intelligent baked in... media will devote an entire video primarily on it, dissecting every angle… each feature… explaining everything!

About the only thing I mess with AI on the Fold is with object eraser… to clean up photos. Translate some text on a photo… comes in handy too.

I had a black ring left over from a pack of silver and black for my Fold5 case. I accidentally scratched the black coating in a few places but it'll be fine for now. I might go back and order a silver set and redo it.

Here is my Fold5 case for comparison and it worked great for my car mount, MagSafe kickstand, and even reverse charging my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. On the Fold6 version the camera bump gets in the way so I will have to remove the back case to use reverse charging.

I’m Google One so it’s nice to clean up photos from all my phones on any one of them including those taken with the iPhone… agree with ya

Was just playing with the F6 and noticed something ( pic attached )

If you look thru where the hinge is ( device closed ) you can see the entire hinge mechanism... Are you guys seeing this as well ?

I can get a good discount on fold 6 so thinking about it

hate phone season ha

Haha feels like my situation...

EE have offered me the Z Fold 6 for £35 a month here in the UK, £100 up front

I generally buy my phones outright but that with my £19 a month SIM only deal (I've 2 as one for personal, one for business) and I get £45 a month expenses for mobile and broadband etc...

It could be a no brainier. But do want to see what Google chuck out re the Fold 2 as well...

Either of those with the Galaxy Watch Ultra could be a good move / change and would make me think hard about sticking with an iPhone / AWU2 as well...

The biggest issue with that 'thought process review' is how they complain about the weight...

To be blunt, how weak are you if you can't cope with 200 odd grams in your hand etc...?!

I may be talking out of turn with being a competitive powerlifter & idiotic lifter of all things heavy, but seriously, phones are not that heavy and if they are too heavy for you, is a foldable really the right phone for you (simply they're always going to be a lot heavier - the mainstream ones at least)...

Endeth thy rant 😂

£35 a month? Damn. Best I’ve seen Even as an EE user was like £90 a month

I've been with them since the dark ages to be fair. Similar with O2 when I ran my own business (had been with them since Cellnet days) but suddenly their prices became a joke, did nothing for loyal customers so I binned them as my business mobile provider

Mentioned this to the lass I spoke to at EE a good few years back and they bent over backwards to get me on board. Got the 12 Pro Max through them and then stuck with sim only after that. Traded up each year so to speak, so the latest iPhone has only cost me a few £hundred extra to buy outright etc...

Always bought my Apple watches outright and same with my Pixel Fold etc...

But as you said, EEs offer is superb. Just need to wait a few weeks to see what Google release re their next Fold.

Other issue is that I REALLY like my Pixel Fold. Have zero issues with it and it does exactly what I need of it!

That could still be a good pairing with the Galaxy Watch Ultra too...

I'm not quite sure what you mean. You shouldn't see any part of the hinge internals as Samsung tries to keep dirt and debris out of that space. I've taken apart two Fold4 devices and the only thing you're able to see with these devices closed is the reflection off the crease and the plastic black "T-shaped" end caps. You won't see any of the actual metal hinge internals. I certainly don't see anything unexpected on my Fold6 when closed.

Yeah I only see a small pinhole towards the hinge area.. I love this phone and how they kept it so slim and using without a case it's comfortable to hold not a slippery as I thought

Anyone find a way to use the speech to text feature and have it stay on while you type something ? I missed that from the Google phone where I can continue speaking without having a tap the microphone

With approximately two weeks of utilizing the Fold 6, I have observed that the battery performance is adequate. On average, I achieve approximately 4 to 6 hours of screen time. It is worth noting that the Fold 5 and Fold 4 exhibited superior battery life compared to the Fold 6. I am interested in learning about the experiences of other users regarding the battery life of the Fold 6.

You might be right. I was probably imagining seeing the hinge mechanism itself ! Oh well, love this iteration of the fold!

Adequate is a good word for it. I’ll be honest and say I did expect battery life to be a bit better than it is, based on my time with the Fold 5 a year ago.

It'll get better with more usage and learning how you use the phone, won't it?

I've noticed the battery also to be okay not great.. I expected better battery TBH.. I will say it's definitely better at home when I'm on my Wi-Fi.. when I'm commuting to work 1 hour drive with maps and music going will deplete around 10% to 12%.. reception at the offices soso and I had to give it a bump charge in the afternoon.

I'm getting about 1-1.5 hrs better battery life than the Fold4 and Fold5. The phone gets unplugged around 630am and gets me through the entire day of use until I'm ready to plug it back in at 11pm, with still charge to spare.

I am using it like I typically did with the Fold4 and Fold5. The most screen on time i got out of the Fold4/5 was close to 9 hours, whereas the Fold6 would've gone 10.5 hours if I ran it till the battery died. I'm pretty satisfied with battery life anytime it gets me through the whole day of real use.

Edit: I have AOD off. With it On i lose another 4% of battery life. I also have a Routine set to enable PowerSaving mode at 40% SoC, same as for my previous Fold4 and Fold5.

I'm definitely finding it to be better than my Pixel Fold but as expected nowhere close to my S24U or 15PM. More than adequate for sure but just not a battery powerhouse by any means. That's where I wish it would have had faster charging speeds, but for the most part I'm always somewhere that I can charge it up. If I'm out somewhere for a long night or something I may opt to take my S24U or bring my Anker magsafe charger with me. Definitely not a deal breaker although I do catch myself wondering about what Google and Oneplus have in store with their upcoming foldables
