£2599 price for sold edition lol

Trying to understand how just for a bigger screen and better crease
How about trying to understand how Apple charges $799 for an iPhone 16 with a 60hz display lol.

I am not sure it's really admitting fault but more if you spend another $200 you can have this :)
Think about it though. Fold 6 was released back in July and 3 months later they release this Fold SE… I don’t see how you can deny that it’s Samsung admitting fault (while only releasing it in Korea and China).

And charging an extra $200 is shameful, imo. When Apple does silly stuff... we (as Android users) hold them to the fire and call them out on it. But this is not a good look for Samsung.

I think it would be unrealistic to expect these extras on the Fold 6 without a price increase and nice to think it is an early Fold 7
Samsung should have released this Fold SE as a Fold 6… they already increased price on the Fold 6. If the Fold SE (with added stylus support) was the Fold 6… I’d wager they would have sold a lot more. They would have gotten praise from the tech influencers, the 9 Pro Fold wouldn’t have been in the picture (imo).

Most influencers are recommending the 9 Pro Fold due to the aspect ratio… if Samsung would have addressed this area, there would be no contest.

Yep it's hard to understand this release 3 months later and can be seen as a slap in the face for us who bought a fold 6

However I can't see any reason if it had been possible to release the F6 SE at the same time or instead of the F6 we got

I am giving the benefit of the doubt that it just was not possible to meet the July deadline and waiting was not an option and a fragile market could not support an only $2000 fold release

I think it was a situation where they played it safe with the Fold 6… they had Fold SE as a backup, but they opted to go the cautious route (there’s footage of prototypes back when the Fold 5 was released).

Because the Fold SE is such a big shift to what their philosophy is in a book-style foldable… they view the outer display as something for quick interactions while encouraging users to engage more with the inner display. But with the Fold SE, I think most users would stay heavily on the outer display and barely unfold to the inner display.

I’m sure Samsung has a focus group to facilitate in determining what route to take and it’s tough because there’s quite a large group of people that enjoy the current outer display due to the one-handed use. And to divert from that… they could potentially have those users not upgrading.

Yep, we can 2nd guess what went on in Samsung minds 😀 but the good news should be interesting times ahead for the Fold 7

2599 is alot different to 799.

apple certainly shouldn't be offering 60hz in 2024 i agree but overall the product the 16 offers is not much different to the pros aside from 60hz. non pros with 120hz would be great value so i'm interested when they add it next year or so people say how they will price it.

I fail to see why a wider display and better crease glass makes it up to 2599. This is likely why samsung offered the fold 6 like they did because cost would be too high. No idea why though when others have this design and hardware thats cheaper.

Maybe this price is that high due to where it's being sold. If samsung offer this same device as fold 7 at this price point it would make no sense and sales will struggle again.

If samsung offers slightly better cameras with this design at 1700 this will be great.

I am not sure where you get 2599 UKP from is this some odd theoretical or grey import price ?

The most quoted release price is for the Fold6 SE is 2,789,600 won in South Korea, which is about £1,562 or $2,024

The original Fold6 512GB is 2,388,100 won in South Korea, which is about $1,743 or £1,345

That's a price difference of £217 or $281 but lets say plus 20% Vat on top for UK that's £260 or $337 for a limited edition redesigned format that's a little taller, wider, thinner and lighter with 4GB more ram and 200MP lens, but no S-Pen

Does not seem extortionate to me :)

Never use a conversion rate as that's not always the reality of things being sold certainly when it's being shipped from where it is.

https://averagedadofficial.com/products/samsung-z-fold-special-edition

is the only place i've seen that is even importing it from

the other main sites

wonda mobile
tradingshenzhen
giztop

None are selling it which says it's in very limited amounts.

What you talking about lol I have simple converted the official Samsung Korean prices to see the cost increase between models (IE like for like delta)

We can only hypothesise what Samsung may charge in UK based on a similar delta in my example

Where you are trying to suggest a price based on some grey import that is nothing to do with Samsung

It's no wonder you don't understand using this grey import price LOL

I'm very well aware what you just did. You googled the converted rate but as I said that's not how samsung and the suppliers will decide how much to charge.

I'm not trying to suggest anything the price is is what the price is! and this isn't about the UK the price if you imported to the US would be around the same. 2600-2800 would clearly be the price no matter where people are in the world.

So again I have no idea why you are asking where i got that 2599 from. It's not some made up number i decided to pull out of the air.

It's clearly from a site which is selling the device and what the samsung suppliers have decided. In fact the only site which is selling it that's not from ebay. Even the ebay prices from china is 2800.

Where in fact it's just some grey import price with a probable surcharge of several hundred over and above what an release price would be from Samsung so it's no wonder why you cant understand how. :)

Maybe, guess we will see In 6 months time how Samsung price the fold 7 will be interesting. Maybe this ultra thin glass for the crease is very expensive and why Samsung didn’t add it to fold 6 for cost reasons.

However there’s rumours of 2 build numbers for fold 7. Which maybe suggests a regular fold 7 and a more expensive fold 7 maybe an ultra version where it will be well over 2k.

Awesome hope you enjoy them
Yeah, I’m trying to get accustomed to them… because the fitting is much better with the Buds 2 Pro. I changed the buds tip to help with the fitting, it’s not as secure as I would like.

And in terms of sound… I can’t really decide on which is better, but I do like the fact I can adjust volume on the stem.

Agreed if there is a all singing and dancing F7 it's likely over 2k

After a day use, I’m leaning on staying with the Buds 2 Pro.

I tried all 3 pair of ear tips on the Buds 3 Pro and it’s not as comfortable in my ear as the Buds 2 pro… this is really a tough decision. And I’m struggling with it. Because I want to upgrade to the new features with the latest buds... But it’s just something about them I can’t fully grasp.

With the upgrade to the Watch Ultra, it was a no-brainer. But in this scenario… it’s a toss up. I thought about getting some wing-tips or maybe some different ear tips. But I don’t know if that would really make a difference. With the Buds 2 pro, it’s a great fit. I’m curious how you guys transitioned to the latest buds.

I personally like them over the Buds 2 Pro but mainly bc I like hanging style buds, I have a large tip in one ear and medium in the other. Buds 2 Pro were not bad though so I can see staying with them not a bad choice either though I enjoy the small features on the new ones

I’m particularly not a fan of the hanging style design… but I do understand functionally it’s better when it comes to adding features. This design can help with adding better mics and more playback controls.

I like being able to say “volume up/down” along with pausing it with my voice. But maybe it’s just a manner of accepting what they have to offer. Because I really enjoy the buds 2 pro design, but I know that I’d get better experience with the latest ones. I’d most likely ship them off for the trade in discount today.

Not heard anything bad about these. Galaxy buds have been impressive
Nothing really bad about them. I‘m still kind of torn on the design choice.

Well, decided to pick up a case after all… about a week or two ago I ended dropping the Fold 6 on concrete.

Strangely fell out of my pocket while getting into the car… caused a minor dent on corner, was debating on slapping a skin on it. But I’ve been interested in those slim profile cases for a while now.. decided to pick one up through AliExpress (have a couple Watch bands as well).
