Honestly not sure I can see any use for this Apple intelligence that I can’t already do with GPT and Claude. These two paired together can pretty much accomplish any task you can think of. When I ask Apple intelligence anything even remotely basic, it just can’t do much at all. I really feel bad, in a sense, because I’m finding myself posting more and more about Apple’s failures than posting about their slam dunks. Not sure how much longer Apple can kick the can down the road before hitting dire straits. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Tim Cook NEEDS to go. Apple Is always behind and a trend follower, not a trend setter, with this guy at the helm.

Apple intelligence hasn’t been released where I live so I haven’t tried it yet. But Apple hasn’t released the smarter Siri and the integration with apps. If they deliver this I personally will have much bigger use of that than a LLM chat. But I also agree with you, they are late and have not released anything special imo. I remain hopeful though with that was shown last WWDC if they make it work

Sequoia‌ 15.2 is now available in the U.K, and it brings this Apple AI stuff with it. I will update at some point, but in no rush, all this AI on everything is getting annoying to be honest.
Even the printer i am looking at buying have AI on it, so they say. I think it is the software and not the printer.
Apple A.I will bve disabled when I update to Sequoia‌ 15.2.

Message summarizing is a nice feature. I like it very much. Custom memories with Apple Intelligence is good. Writing tools are also very good. Also the cleanup feature is a nice addition. Will be interesting to see what Apple adds each year going forward.

I haven’t updated anything to 18 yet and I have a noob question for those that have.
Is there a master setting to turn off all of the AI features or am I going to have to go hunt for a bunch of settings across apps?

Don't care about chatGPT integration as much but I'd like to see a smarter siri, hopefully that will pan out when I get 18.2 here in Canada.
Siri only seems to work with a microphone, I thought it worked by typing stuff in as well. It says, not available, connect microphone when I click on it

You don't need AI to type to siri, you could do it since iOS 13

Ah, I see, I don't have an Iphone, but it is the same for the Mac, you would have thought they would have put the option in with the Siri settings. Some people don't really want to talk to a computer, not that it bother me as I talk to Alexa, well ask it things. I have no microphone on my Mac mini, well, not permanently connected anyway.

Not sure if I will use Siri, but more chance of using it by typing.
Thank you anyway

its amazing how bad is Apple Intelligence yet. feels like totally unpolished. Asking Siri questions is yet so confusing, it answer with random anwers sometimes totally disconnected...

Image Playground looks like a cheap iOS app from last year...

Seeing this, it looks like we are 2 years yet from getting a good AI in Apple ecosystem
