It’s funny we all went for the Pro based on last year and now ironically the regular 14 might be the answer.

In other news the paracetamol kicked in so we go again with the 14 Pro and see what happens this time.
I took 1000mg of Tylenol (paracetamol) a couple of hours ago and it’s not doing jack. I generally avoid ibuprofen because it’s jacks my stomach up so bad but I may give in. This is terrible.

For anyone having life-impacting, negative health effects from using these phones, please stop.

It should be obvious, but it is 100% not worth it to negatively impact your quality of life because of a smartphone.

Signs that you are someone who needs to stop using phones with PWM:
  1. You are getting headaches or migraines
  2. You feel nauseous
  3. You have to take medicine to counteract any effects
iPhone SE (2022) is a great option.

We are all very passionate about this topic and finding a solution, but please don't jeopardize your quality of life.

I’m sorry so many of you are faring poorly with the 14 pro. Seems weird that the 14 would be better and I will believe it when I see it.

As for me, I told myself that I would wait until at least Monday to make any decisions unless I had some really adverse affects. So far as of 1:30 PM on Saturday I still really only have little bouts of nausea once in a while and I had one little period of dizziness but no headaches.
Of course I recognize that could change greatly and I still don’t know if the nausea will go away but I’m going to try it for another day and a half.

For me, this 14 pro has been head and shoulders better than any of the other Apple OLED screens that I've tried.
My mother-in-law has a regular 13 and when she wants me to adjust a setting I can barely look at it for more than a minute before my eyes are searing and a it feels like my left and right eyes can’t focus together.
Then I usually have to close my eyes for a while and be in a quiet room.

Curious to see what people say about the regular 14.

So right now I’m playing on a 14PM, a 14P, and an 11. I’m reading forums indoors and just switching between phones. 11 is definitely still the nicest. I feel the release in my temples, in my whole body. Not entirely back to normal but a definite ungripping.

Think the 14P might feel a bit better than the PM, but I need more time. Also it’s hard to say because I’m not logged in on that device, and I keep having to deal with all the ads flaking around on the screen.

Need to say: I gotta figure this out soon. As nice as it physically is going back to the 11, these bezels seem so thick right now and the screen just not as clear (obviously a ppi issue).

Migraleve (Pink) is my go to. If I catch the early signs of a migraine brewing, two of these with some food and a quiet hour usually does the trick. If I'm in the storm of a migraine they help soften the sharp pressure but it will take a day to pass.

I've done this before, jumping between devices, but this may muddy the water as one of the phones may be bad and trigger you so you won't know if one of the others works.

Reading all this it's just beyond ridiculous that year after year Apple does nothing about this. At the very least they could take the regular phone each year (14) and make it a LCD screen. Use the Pro and larger phones for the OLED displays, at least until they can improve those on PWM.

Agreed. I’m seeing this bit as the speed-dating equivalent in my experiment.

Also, I inadvertently did it earlier when I went from my 14PM to 11 (for an unrelated reason) and literally felt a physical release.

I agree.

Part of me wants to decide quickly about the 14PM so that if I don’t keep it, it doesn’t ruin the 11 for me.

That screen is just like looking at my hand or a book, doesn’t feel like it registers as an electronic device in my brain (in a good way.)
I feel that sentence deep in my soul. I never gave the 12 or 13 series overly deep thought when trying them. I was pretty content with my 11. But this time, I realllllllllllly see the differences. Even more so, hear them. I cannot believe how much louder and more appealing the speakers are on the 14 Pro Max. Everything just pops on the screen. The size feels perfect for me. I LOVE this phone. I am still giving it time but with every minute I use it, the more I begin to lose appreciation for my 11. The most important thing to me on a phone is the camera. Thankfully the 11 has night mode. I personally could never use iPhone 6SSSSSSSS they call the SE 2022. From the tiny screen, single camera, no night mode, and dated form factor I can almost say I hate the phone (for me). I am so beyond sick of this sh*t. Worse case, I pop a new battery in my 11 and try the Samsung S23 Ultra in February.

100% agree. But Apple want to ditch LCD and manufactures are doing the same as they sell less so it costs more to produce. iPad is next for OLED hell. Until the Korean screen manufacturers want to deal with eye health this will continue.

Now you all see my struggle and why I typically don’t want to give these iPhones up despite persistent headaches and migraines, which on day two aren’t drastically better than previous generations on iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The display and speaker quality is otherwise fantastic. But I do still oddly miss iPhone 13 Mini.
