I can't be the only one tempted to try a Pixel 7, and with a watch thrown for free, all coming under £1000?! (Price is not an issue for me but I can get a 256gb 7 Pro for £850 with discount which is a hell of deal).

you're not the only one.. ordered it too. Maybe it has dc dimming 😃😃😀

Just curious who ended up keeping their 14 series phones? If you made the adjustment I am happy for you!

Everything from the cameras, to the features, to the lower cost value make it a no-brainer if PWM tolerable EXCEPT for those like me who don't care for change (I have been solely iOS since 2012), who has most of their family and friends on iPhones so iMessage is a must (I am in the states and not many I know nor myself use WhatsApp or other clients), I do have a paired cellular Apple Watch 7, I do have a M1 topped out Air, etc. so for me, it's not that I 'can't' leave the Apple ecosystem. I just can't justify the move when looking at what I truly prioritize.

Gang I just now thought of something random yet am surprised I hadn’t considered this sooner. My youngest just turned 1 last Sat. Admittedly we’ll watch Cocomelon on my phone. The odds are highly against this but what if, what if she experiences what any of us have/do. I dove know that I’d pick up on it and she can’t talk to tell me. Am I way overthinking this? Irrational?

Maybe you could experiment and slo-mo record her watching something on the phone and see if her pupils dilate and constrict in reaction to the screen?

It’s cool to experiment on your kids, right?

Just got the 14 Plus. Screen is the same yellowish as the regular 14. Will return the regular 14 next week and give this 14 Plus a try the next few days.
Size is perfect and weight is same as 8 Plus.
How was your experience with iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 pro ?

Played with the 14 in store today. Skipping this generation. It causes nausea and motion sickness. Oled just isn’t a good option for people like us who are sensitive to motion. The 11 still works for me. A new battery has made the device faster and it lasts a full day.

Hopefully Apple update the internals and the camera for the rumoured SE 2023. That’s going to be the best device for oled sensitive.

I am also deep into the Apple ecosystem and have resigned myself to the fact that I can never own the latest iPhone unless they switch to miniled which is unlikely.

Iphone 14 was better for me than the 14 pro. More yellowish screen.
Didn't like the smaller size compared to the 8 plus though: you can read less on the same webpage. So now I'm giving the 14 Plus a go. Slightly optimistic. Still notice some irritation, but willing to test it for a few days and see where it goes.

So, after a week with the iPhone 14 Pro Max. It's going back! I only have very minor symptoms and I could live with that. But the thing is, I don't want to live with it! I want to be able to use a smartphone without any problems, and luckily with the iPhone 12 Pro I can. It will last another 4 years without any problems, and my hope lies in a Micro LED iPhone without PWM. I won't try the iPhone 14 Plus unless I read about a frequency of over 1500 soon.

I have messaged on this thread a few times in the past.

For all those stating you feel some pain or strain with the new Iphone 14 plus etc but you're gonna give it a few weeks to see how it goes, please reconsider this.

I am almost two years with a headache after an iphone 12pro gave me a headache, two weeks later I went back to my 11 and the pain started to subside, but the damage was done.

I have paid hundreds with a private neurologist who has diagnosed me with New Peristent Daily Headache(NPDH). The pain never goes, and never will. Usually brought on by viral infection but can be triggered but other means, repetative eye strain being one. It triggers pain within glands in the brain.

I have tried lost of drugs, some which have been effective but the pain breaks through them after time. Next month I am starting botox therapy, 37 injections in my scalp every 10 weeks.

Appreciate this PWM issue is only a very small percentage of iphone users, and the chance of someone new also getting my condition is even lower but if there is pain, please stop.

I would gladly use a Nokia 3310 for the rest of my life if it meant my condition went away.

That’s really awful. Sorry to hear that.

Your post makes me feel less ridiculous for thinking the continuous migraine I’ve had after almost a week of not using the iPhone 14 might be still lingering from that.

The iPhone 14 was definitely worse than the 14 Pro for me.

Got a new battery in my 11 yesterday and I'm good to go. Looks like this baby is going to have to last a couple more years. (maybe) Had it done at an iTech place and the iPhone doesn't recognize the battery so I get this warning all the time! Settings icon badge constantly shows the 1. Hope to figure out a cure for that!! But it is nice to have an all day battery again!!

That’s terrible. Thank you for sharing that. That’s good advice. One thing that made this year so confusing for me is that I didn’t have any eye pain or headaches like prior years so that gave me hope. What I did have was dizziness and nausea, and a bit of occasional focusing issues after using the phone for a while. Still, in the end, I decided that wasn’t going anywhere good so I sent the phones back. I hope you find relief soon.

Huh, that’s weird. Have Apple put an Apple battery in it? I also think uBreakIfix uses real Apple parts. I’ve not had issues with either.

Yes, I just screwed up and didn't check it out throughly enough. I just wanted a battery and got in a hurry. I should have gone to the Apple store instead.

Agreed. I'll return it as soon as I get those headaches. Not worth it.
For now I don't have them (yet?) with the 14 Plus. Slightly watery eye. But wanna test if it's the phone.
Keep us updated mate, watery eye could turn into a aneurysm!
