Screen protector ?I use it with the standard settings, with 120Hz, auto-brightness, true tone etc.
I have no clue. I just chalk it up to yet another weird situation where PWM impacted me differently with little rhyme or reason as to why. And my experience doesn’t mirror others. This is nuts.Curious as to why the pro and pro max are different?
Why would the Max be so much better than iPhone 15 Pro?For me, only the Max is perfect.
All other iPhone 15 models were really bad.
I'm still very happy with my Max
👆👆👆👆👆THIS 💯My eyes and experience won’t dictate yours anymore than telling you one has a rate of 240 and the other 480. We’ve seen how many times that these things don’t matter. One thing does. Your eyes. Try them out yourselves.
Are you afraid of the software update to fix the burn in issues with the pro max models ?For me, only the Max is perfect.
All other iPhone 15 models were really bad.

I've found 60hz also preferable though I don't know why that would make a difference. I have flicker prevention on but can't say I have noticed a distinct difference with it off. With the Razr Plus I've experienced a kind of increasing accommodation where strain is less apparent over time though I don't go over 2 hrs. per day. It is not a perfect solution but I'm satisfied that I've found a found a phone that I can work with after four years of using a Note 10+. If I need to do research or spend alot of time looking at a screen, it's the iPad which doesn't bother me at all.Why would the Max be so much better than iPhone 15 Pro?
I quite honestly do want to upgrade this generation and I’d still prefer to be on iOS rather than Android, which is admittedly better than I expected, but even the standard iPhone 15 causes immediate symptoms in a store.
This is confusing since the Motorola Razr+ seems to be slightly more comfortable at 60Hz, and what I’ve read online indicates that the frequency corresponds with the refresh rate. It’s also confusing since I’m not sure whether the standard setting or Flicker Prevention is more comfortable across the brightness range, but that version of DC dimming is definitely not a solution.
Flicker Prevention does however help at the lowest brightness levels, and colors remain similar regardless of whether it’s enabled. There are certainly no complaints from me in terms of color accuracy on either display, which is remarkably consistent on both the internal and external display.
For those that have asked, the M2 11” iPad Pro is just about perfect in terms of sensitivity and has color accuracy comparable to a modern iPhone.
The new panel should also support 2160 Hz PWM dimming (up from 1440 Hz in current panels) and Single Pulse DC.
Please remind me: Did you try the M1 11" or previous models? I'm wondering if anything has improved on the M2.For those that have asked, the M2 11” iPad Pro is just about perfect in terms of sensitivity and has color accuracy comparable to a modern iPhone.
First day was perfect. Almost like using LCD. Today I woke up with dry eyes…… mild syptoms only. It’s usable like 12 pro and X but not completely syptoms free at least for me. It didn’t give me nausea or head pain but i felt like my eyesight is getting tired quicker than normal.@DJTaurus What are your immediate impressions 15 PM? any signs of microwaved eye sockets?
Below is a website that briefly talks about this single Pulse DC which I think might be of interest to you...Interesting report about the next OnePlus phone with a BOE display that supports 3,000 nits: OnePlus and BOE to introduce a smartphone display with 3,000 nits of brightness on October 24

That Single Pulse DC bit is interesting ... hadn't heard of this before 🤔
According to a report by IT Home published on 19th October, Realme has opened recruitment trial for "Realme GT5 Single Pulse Dimming Mode"".
Single Pulse Dimming Mode will support high-frequency dimming in lower brightness, while DC-like dimming on higher brightness levels. This is to make up for Realme GT5's lack of (full) dc-like dimming implementation.
According to reports, as this feature is still in the initial stages of development, realme recommends that only tech-savvy users who are very familiar with the phone and system participate in the trial. This trial will be conducted through a questionnaire registration process and is limited only to Realme GT5 users.
After registration, the applications will be reviewed by the (realme) staff. Upon approval, users will receive the "13.1.1.145 (CN01)" update, and they will be able to find the "Single Pulse Dimming Mode" option in the Developer Option mode. Turning it on will activate the "Single Pulse Dimming Mode." If users wish to stop using the "Single Pulse Dimming Mode," they can turn off this option in the setting again.
It is important to note that this recruitment is only open to Realme GT5 users with realme UI 4.0 (142, 143) versions. Users who are on the Realme UI 5.0 trial version do not need to apply. As the "Single Pulse Dimming Function" will be included in the next 5.0 trial version.
As previously reported by IT Home, the Realme UI 5.0 trial version for Realme GT5 phones started recruiting on October 13th. This version of the operating system is based on Android 14 and is only available to Realme users with devices sold within China.
Today I finally got my 15 pro. I disabled pro motion because this makes me dizzy. I watched 20 min YouTube videos. No eye strain. But I do feel little bit dizzy. I enabled reduce with point 90%. And this screen is so bright!! I’m going to take a break. And try it again later. This has a 480hz screen right? If I keep feeling dizzy. I’m going to try the Pro max. I have a friend working at apple so I can buy with a discount. But it will be available on the second or third week of November I did try the 15 plus in the store. I felt symptoms right away.
If 14 works for you why do you even bother ?Well my lovely 15 Plus has been returned as the eye strain did not go away :[
I’m now trying a 14 Plus, as the 14 Regular I used to have was fine!
It’s all so confusing and seemingly random…
Below is a website that briefly talks about this single Pulse DC
I think all of us regulars should split the cost evenly with you as we would all benefit from what you learn and maybe it would make taking the risk a little more bearable. I would certainly pitch in.I am seriously thinking to give it a go.
