My bet is that this gets submitted late next week or early in two weeks, and then quickly approved by Apple. I'm nearly 100% positive Apple will try harder to get this through faster than most apps.

I saw a screenshot of it from TechCrunch; It looks pretty good!

Uploaded to Apple for review, it looks like. Now we play the real waiting game...

I'll be posting more details and screen shots to the app's page on Facebook this week http://bit.ly/1fDNs

As excited as I am about 3.0, I am *really* excited about 3.1, which I get to start working on tomorrow. Tonight I can relax.

The Facebook for iPhone FB page has been updated via status updated to reflect the upload to the App Store.

I hope this sees a FAST review process. This tired, buggy 2.5 version needs to be forgotten.

I can imagine Apple might fasttrack this App, as it's one of the core selling points of any smartphone these days; social networking integration. I don't really agree with other people about the 2.5 version being bad though..sure, it's a little bit clunky and rough around the edges, but it's free, and there are no major issues with it. Still, looking forward to the new features here. :)

I've blogged about re-designing the Facebook for iPhone application to increase user experience. Read about it here, thoughts?

We should have it by Tuesday. I think 2.0 took around 3 days. They usually approve Facebook pretty quick.

the average app review seems to be 14 days(*).

if it takes substantially less than that just for Facebook, it will cause another negative PR s**tstorm for Apple and the App store.

(*) which obviously sucks.

Wrong. Instead of making ill-informed one-off comments, do a little research first. The actual published dates are right there in the app store for all to see. Correlate that with the calendar date... Ex: TomTom was submitted on Aug 15th and was released on Aug 16th. Apple iDisk: submitted July 25th, released July 29th. SlingPlayer: submitted May 7th, released May 12th.

I could go on. PR s**t storm...I doubt it.

I hadn't seen that before so I just checked some apps on the app store. All I see is a "Released" date and no other?

I will be surprised if this release isn't available by Friday (and for the wisenheimers, I mean Friday August 21st).
