I don't understand all the hostility vs. facebook developers or the
program itself..
for one, its free. two, it works flawlessly (on my phone at least... including the inbox & uploading photos & leaving comments) and three, again, ITS FREE!
Well I love it! Joe Hewitt does a great job considering he's the only person working on it. Push notifications would make it immense!
I know I'll likely be flamed for this but why don't all those people who seem to know how to code so much better than the developer offer to help instead of heap insults?
It's a free program, you are not being short-changed by waiting. If you could do it better, PM the developer and offer to help or take over. If your grandmother could code it better, please have her contact the dev.
I don't know the dev and have never talked to him but I'm thinking that if i was doing something for free and had to hear this type of response when I didn't live up to other's expectations I'd post the code somewhere and say "Fine, you do it then."
Just my $.02 Flame away.
It is indeed fun but stressful to be responsible for an app that 25% of the iPhone-owning population uses regularly.
FB app update: polishing graphics, translations, bug fixing, etc. these things take time. 98% was a bad estimate, sorry. Gotta get it right.
i found the developers website yesterday, after finding he created iUI, which lets people create web pages that look and function like web apps using a very simple bit of htmlWe all want the new facebook app but I don't see how flaming the guy who is making it could possibly be constructive. I'm sure he's putting in long hours to get this finished. Let's instead praise the man for taking the time to get it right the first try instead of releasing crap.

he also talked about developing facebook for iphone, and said that apple does not even have photo viewer/mail composer components in the SDK, so he had to create them himself. he then sacrificed features with fitting in well with the UI of the iPhone. this is a lot of work, so it is understandable why it takes one person so long to do everything. the real question is why facebook only have one person working on the mobile version, which is increasing in popularity everyday

The current FB is so horrid, waiting impatiently for this.
BTW, some of you people are being little bitches about this. Facebook works fine on my iphone, and anything that'll make it better would be awesome, so i appreciate all the work that goes into it...
yeah i'm not sure push for facebook is such a great idea. i don't need a push notification just to hear about some dude's random thought for the day.
I am NOT whining. I just don't understand why is it taking two weeks (or more) for 2% to be done. Facebook is terrible for only allowing ONE person to work on the iPhone app. Facebook accounts for roughly 25% of iPhone users
...why in the HECK do they have only one person working on this.![]()
