This app makes one mouth water with the quality of the fast updates, if I had this.:)

Keeping the fast updates coming, version 4.9 is out!

What's New:
-File Cabinet Pro now provides a "View Checksum" Service. You can use File Cabinet Pro to view the SHA256, SHA1, or MD5 checksum of files. You can enable or disable this Service from System Preferences under Keyboard->Shortcuts->Services.

Version 4.9.5 released.

Here's what's new:

-The search field in the toolbar no longer has a fixed width; it will now grow up to 325 points wide when you enlarge the window or when you rearrange toolbar items, as long as there is enough room in the toolbar for it to fit.

-You can now add fixed "Space" items to the toolbar. Previously only "Flexible Space" items could be added to the toolbar.

Here's what's new:
-File Cabinet Pro has a new icon for the menu bar, which better matches the dock icon.
-Fixed animation bug in Cover Flow on macOS High Sierra.
-Fixed issue that sometimes caused File Cabinet Pro to open over another app when entering full screen mode.
-Added workaround fix for a serious macOS High Sierra bug that causes Mac apps to discard saved preferences in a key situation, in order to maintain proper usability.

Version 5.3 is here.

Here's what's new:
-If text data is currently on the pasteboard you can now create a new RTF, RTFD, MD, or TXT document using the current clipboard data. To use this new feature, hold down the option key while the "New Document" submenu is showing in File Cabinet Pro's context menu (see screenshot below).

-Previously if File Cabinet Pro's menu bar icon was near the edge of the screen the app's window would hang off the edge of the screen. This issue is now fixed (see screenshot below).

Version 5.5 is out!

What's New
-File Cabinet Pro now advertises a “Move To…” Service. The “Move To…” Service can be enabled or disabled in System Preferences.
-Fixed keyboard shortcuts for “Copy Style” and “Paste Style” actions when using File Cabinet Pro’s text editor.

---
A few people asked me to introduce a way to move files out of File Cabinet Pro by choosing the directory in a panel instead of drag and drop, so here it is. I decided to implement it as a Service so you can use it not just in File Cabinet Pro but from other supporting apps too like Finder.

Cool app, just installed and figuring stuff out. One question, one comment:
What is the "Use secondary folder" preference used for?
Dark mode: is VERY black. The contrast with white type seems garish compared to most "dark mode" prefs I'm used to. Can the shade/colors be modified in a preference slider, or similar?

Hi @satyrica

>What is the "Use secondary folder" preference used for?

If you set the secondary folder, the app puts buttons in the bottom bar for your default directory and the secondary directory you choose. This allows you to quickly switch between two (see the arrow in the screenshot below).

I'll look into improving this. Thanks a lot for your feedback!

File Cabinet Pro version 6.0 is out!

What's New:
-You can now open directories in new tabs.

-Removed the “Primary” and “Secondary” directory concept from File Cabinet Pro; this feature has been replaced by the new Tab Bar. You are no longer restricted to two directories to switch between, you can open as many tabs as you want.

-Tabs in File Cabinet Pro’s new Tab Bar support spring-loading; you can drag files over a tab to select one.

-The buttons in the bottom bar used to switch between the “Primary” and “Secondary” directory have been removed. You can switch between directories by clicking in the Tab Bar instead (or by using the hot keys: control+tab to select the next tab and control+shift+tab to select the previous tab).

-File Cabinet Pro now displays the number of selected items and the file count for the current directory at the bottom of the window.

-The size of the Quicklook preview for a selected file in Column view will now resize with the window instead of remaining at a small fixed size.

-File Cabinet Pro started displaying a Services submenu in its context menu in version 4.5. As a result if the “Show In Finder” service on your Mac was enabled you would see two “Show In Finder” menu items in File Cabinet Pro’s context menu. File Cabinet Pro no longer displays its own “Show in Finder” menu item in its context menu to fix this problem. You can enable the “Show In Finder” Service in System Preferences on your Mac to continue using this feature.

-A new “Go to Folder…” menu item has been added to File Cabinet Pro’s context menu.

-Other minor bug fixes and improvements.
