Every. Single. Year.
It was the same in iOS 7 -> iOS 8 and it will be the same in iOS 9 -> iOS 10

That's your opinion.
In my opinion iOS 9 is better than iOS 8 since the beginning...

Your personal opinion
So this lag is my opinion huh?

Here is visual evidence of Apple's crap optimisation for old devices and how even a budget Windows Phone beats it in that department.

Here is the horrible scroll stutter on my iPhone 6

And here is my Lumia 730 running the very same website silky smooth 60 fps and it cost me $120 (less than a quarter of my iPhone's price) around a year ago and it's wrecking my iPhone in smoothness. My Lumia has already been through 2 Windows versions and it's on Windows 10 in the video

And If someone wants I can Make a similar video with a Galaxy S6 which demolishes both of the above devices in scroll smoothness

Which site is that?
Windowscentral
ios 9 is the best iOS I've ever seen....
I wasn't so happy about iOS 8 initially.
Now iOS 8 was the Mother of every iOS ....

I distinctly remember the SAME EXACT DISCUSSIONS about iOS 8 in relation to iOS 7 one year before.

Haters gonna hate...

As I said several times, this forum lately became an haters' nest.
Every single news about Apple, even if positive, is followed by very harsh comments.
People here are literally scared, and looking for issues they didn't notice on their devices.
Astonishing....
[doublepost=1452981832][/doublepost]
It's not, since I don't have it on ANY of my iDevices, including an aging iPad Air and an iPhone 5s ...
Lol "haters nest" .More like these guys just don't have their head buried in the sand

Can confirm improvement on the iPhone 5s as well.

Looks like they are listening to us, even though 3 months after the release of iOS 9. Pathetic.

But hey, the past is the past.

They are not listening to you. That is the way the new Apple operates since iOS 7. They first introduce the iOS optimized for the new hardware and then work on 0.x updates to optimize the iOS to old hardware. By the time iOS 9 is at 9.4 it will be as good as 8.4. I have said this some many times in other threads, I sound like a broken record. Lol.

Thats why 1 year cycle sucks balls.

But if Apple does not introduce a new iOS every year or a new iPhone every year, then the stock will drop and Apple will be accused of holding back and not being innovative. Apple cannot win either way.

That is being said every year regardless if you go back and look, but Apple can only blame itself for this.

Apple only has themselves to blame for general populace wanting something new all the time and getting upset if they don't get it as soon as possible?

Yes, otherwise Apple is no different than other brands like samsung or any other. The key here is to have a clear mind and a system, not just release, release, release every single year just because you have to (and who the **** said that?). Apple can add software features in a 9.4 and 9.5 updates if they need, just like they did with music and now with night shift. This way code doesn't change so much so fast like it would in ios 9 to ios 10 transition and they wouldnt need to spend 4 months to just make it work decent.

16-18 months cycle is more reasonable and in between no one is stopping Apple from adding some features in .x release. And don't forget WWDC. Apple is spreading itself way too thin.

Too bad the majority of the general populace doesn't get and/or care about any of that, and since they represent the majority of consumers, well, there you have it.

That is why you wait to update. Had you updated by 8.3 and waited to update until 9.3, then you would have almost one iOS update per year.

Fairly crappy way to do things, given as you're left without security patches for quite a while. Apple should either A) put iOS on longer release cycles (1.5 years or something) or seperate security upgrades from iOS upgrades like in OSX.

Every iPhone 5s or iPhone 6 performs exactly the same, so it is not possible that others do have these issues while you don't. The only explenation for this is that you are simply less critical. Your devices do suffer from the lag we are talking about, it's just that you don't see it.

That is if the software installation is not corrupt. However your point stands. Its about perception. When I installed iOS 7 for my Mum she said "practically no difference". When I installed it for my Dad he said "Everything is different its the worst I hate it", however just because my Mum didn't notice (or didn't really care) about the design differences, doesn't mean they weren't there. People just perceive everything differently. One person's jitter might not be noticeable to another.

Except that the vast majority of threads in forums like this one demonstrate quite a bit of the opposite--people often enough having all kinds of random issues while other people, even those with the same exact devices and OS versions, never even hearing about those issues, let alone actually experiencing them. That is such basic realty that there's no escaping it at all.

Which some things it can very well be about that. Which other things it can very well be beyond that where people actually do experience different issues and/or issues that are of different degrees.

How do you know? Did you survey every iPhone 6 and 5s owner out there? I have a 5s on 9.2 and I played with control center and found no stutter or anything like that.

Yeah and it still isn't as fast as 8.4.1.Point still stands

It's been 4 months and it still isn't as fast as 8.4.1

Do you even remember 8.4.1? Does anyone? Or are all of you talking out your asses because you saw some video on youtube with an older device running 8.4.1 and now you think because someone told you it was perfect, you now regurgitate that same BS over and over?

Yeah, ok.

So, you want to post a video how CHROME runs super smooth on ANDROID vs Windows/iOS? I would EXPECT Chrome to be butter smooth on Android lol. You make no sense.

No, not every device, but I did check all the devices at the Apple Store. All of them behaved exactly the same. Which of course makes total sense because the hardware and software are both exactly the same.

There is no reason to believe that there is a huge variation in performance between devices. They are all the same so they will al perform the same.

As I said, that simply is because those people simply don't notice. Stop being silly man. Do you really think a stuttering control center animation affects only some users? That makes zero sense. Again (and again, and again): hardware is the same, software is the same, performance is the same.

And yet we have just seen videos posted with some considerable stutter in some app while that doesn't exist for various other people.

And we have people posting threads about some app or service running in the background or being stuck while many others don't experince that.

And we have threads about people crashing their browser typing something in while most others can do exactly that with nothing happening.

And this goes on and on. It's just silly to say that everyone has all the same issues or to the same degree. Sure, some issues exist for pretty much everyone, but that's not even close to applying to all or even most issues. And even amongst some issues that could apply to everyone not all of them necessarily apply to people to the same degree--some can have them worse than others.

It is a fact that some people have better memory than others.
