Very nice Glock mcarnes :D

I would own a suppressor, but in WA we have this stupid law that allows you to own one, except its illegal to put it on your firearm and actually use it

I live in spokane and all of our class 3 dealers say that it's fine to own obviously and have it mounted on the gun but we can't "shoot it". I heard (could be right, could be wrong, idk) from dealers also that in order for you to get caught shooting it, is that a police officer has to visually witness casings exiting the camber because its kinda a oxy moron for the officer to say "i heard him/ her shooting a suppressed weapon". they also claim that its okay to carry a handgun concealed (assuming you have your CCP) with the suppressor mounted.

It's would be cool to have a that AAC mounted on my glock 17 but i want to get a YHM Phantom SS for my AR-15 first:cool:

That's good to know. Most cops in Oregon will take you to the station anyway if they don't know anything about NFA (and most don't). Then they call ATF and let you go after they find out everything is legal. It's never happened to me but it is a story you often hear in the forums.

I have an AR10 on order and I'm going to get an AAC 762SD silencer for that. If you ever move to Oregon I know an awesome class 3 dealer. You can have most everything here. Short barrel shotguns and rifles, silencers, machine guns. Even switchblades.

Here is a better picture of it, next to my Glock 22, Glock 27, and Microtech OTF (out the front) switchblade.

Me too. for that matter, when you speak of concealing that Glock, with silencer and a huge ****ing clip.

If you can successfully conceal that on your person, you are way to big to trifle with, IMO.

Addendum: But I do like the rifle in the last pic. Me want.

I responded to a PM about this. It would be foolish to carry the G19 with silencer as a defensive weapon, even though you could easily do it with the silencer and mag detached.

A pistol with a threaded barrel is enough to cause problems, IMO. Google "Gary Fadden" for an idea why I think this is so.

Beyond target practice, a suppressed gun is an offensive weapon, period. Not that I would ever use it for that purpose. It is an immensely fun target gun. The coolest thing is that you can hear the bullet impact and the explosive effect it has on the target. The sound doesn't come from the gun, it comes from the target. You don't realize how powerful a 9mm round is until you've shot it through a silencer.

Glock questions

Glock 19 with AAC Evolution silencer and 33 round magazine. Crappy picture but I'm tired. I'm getting rid of the POS lasermax on it. This is NFA legal of course.

Just curious. How difficult was the paperwork and how long did you have to wait for approval. How effective is the silencer? Cuts the sound by half or 3/4 or more?

Don't want to jack the thread too much. The hardest part of the paperwork is getting the chief of police in your county to sign the Form 4. Some don't have a problem with it, but most will avoid you. I ended up buying it through my LLC.

From the time I paid for it, it took about 4 months to transfer into my possession. As you know, the penalties for breaking NFA laws are extreme. I could go to prison for ten years just for loaning that silencer to a friend.

It sounds like a nail gun. If you shoot something on the ground around you, the bullet impact is louder than the gun rapport.

Now - imagine how silent a nice sub-sonic round would sound with a silencer. Say, a .45 acp silenced. :D

9mm is subsonic, you just have to shoot the heavies (147 grain), which are widely available and cheap.

.45 is not slower, it's just heavier. It is generally a difficult round to suppress.

One benefit of surpressor for target practice is that when used, the weapon doesn't require hearing protection.

Some might have the misconception that a surpressor is a silencer, but that's not true. The sound with a surpressor, is not whisper quiet. Although it makes it harder to detect the source of sound at a distance.

I don't have any pics with me (at work) so I'll point to some web clips:

On mine, I upgraded the grips to nice wooden ones and put on tritium 3 dot sights

Smith & Wesson Model 41 .22CAL
On mine I have mounted a red dot sight

If I were to buy another firearm, I'd love to get another Kimber in black. Maybe a Cutom II.

God only knows the paperwork involved in attaining all those toys.

You got a serious case of BRD, I reckon.

Note to self: Do not (#*k with this chap.

You guys are sooo lucky! I live in California and we can't buy ar-15's here. I want one sooooo bad, but I'd have to move to AZ or anywhere pretty much outside of Cali. Damn these stupid gun laws!

Yeah stupid gun laws, they certainly don't work at all.

I am not a lawyer, but your dealers sound like they are full of it. Not something that I would want to risk playing around with.

You can too buy AR-15s in California, they just have to comply with your local laws by omitting certain parts, or replacing certain parts with compliant parts.

Yeah stupid gun laws, they certainly don't work at all.

Tell me about it. If you want to learn to be more patient, buy a suppressor and send your paperwork to the BATFE. You don't get to take the suppressor home until the paperwork comes back approved.

And Im about to buy a supress barrel, and ive heard from a guy that you need a custom silencer for a modified barrel, is that true?
