Not a chance going back to a normal pro version feels small watching videos like Netflix and Disney plus is a dream on the max models and the battery life last me all day....
The fact you sound like you routinely watch movies/shows on your phone is crazy to me. You deserve better ha.

I did it for the X which was only in the smaller size. Transitioned fine for the year, but hated the battery life. Battery life is the biggest benefit to me though I like bigger phones overall.

Personally the size of a given phone is a non-issue for me until it becomes a functional problem. For example, I went from an 11 Pro to a 12 Mini and after the initial switch, which was jarring, once I got used to the Mini I didn’t think about the difference in size again. Where I did think about the size of the Mini was when I was typing with the keyboard and had more typos because of the smaller buttons, or when I would see my fingers creeping into the edges of photos because the phone was so small in my hand. Functional issues.

Similarly, when I switched from the Mini to a Max because of those functional issues, at first the Max was comically large but now it feels normal. Where it does not feel normal is when I try to use it one handed, it’s mostly impossible. It’s too heavy for some car mounts, etc. Again, functional issues.

I had a Xs Max and went to a regular size 11 Pro. After a day the 11 Pro felt so natural that I wondered why I had bothered with the Max at all. I’m going from a 12 Pro Max to a regular 14 Pro and I can’t wait to drop the extra weight and size.

In the flurry of ordering last year, I mistakenly go the 13 Pro and didn’t even realize it until I opened up the VZW box and saw the smaller phone. Rather than deal with swapping it out for a 13 Pro Max I decided to give the smaller Pro size a try for the year since I had the Plus/Pro Max size since they started making them. It took a few days to adjust to the smaller screen size but to be honest I haven’t found myself missing the screen that much at all. However, I would say the most noticeable change was the shorter battery life. Mind you it isn’t dreadful but it is less at the end of the day.

All that being said, I’ll be going back to the 14 Pro Max this year. :)
Just get the apple magsafe pack… I literally never end a day now hardly, below 80% battery.

Honestly I'm struggling with this. Usually a pro user considering pro max. I kinda wish there was something bigger than the pro but smaller than the max. I find the max a little large and hard to use 1 handed, but the one thing I really am considering it for is the battery life more than the size. If I could get better battery in the pro I would love it

Wouldn’t it be interesting if Apple puts out 6.4” and 5.9” next year. To shake up the market a bit more.

Creating a new batch of large/mini fans.

And maybe opening the door to making a foldable that’s going to take on the ultra-large band. At 7-8” but fold-able.

What do you mean? You can't exactly take a TV with you everywhere and if you're on the go, it's far more convenient than lugging around a laptop or having to take that out. I watch movies, etc. on my 13PM all the time in my car eating lunch, for instance.

Very true
Sadly many people will be using Laptops/Phones to consume media this year due to expensive energy bills in the uk my 55inch smart TV hasn't even been switch on these days.

I personally went from the larger size to the normal pro either with iPhone 12 Pro or 13 Pro.

After that I couldn’t go back to the large phone. I even went smaller down to the 13 mini and loved the size but I’m ultimately back to the 14 pro next week. Don’t see myself ever going back to the max size.

I had an 11 Pro Max and went down to a 13 Pro after being on a plus side since they launched with the 6. I had to do it for medical reasons (I have a cervical nerve compression that make my arms go numb and constant pain in my hands and couldn’t hold the larger phone anymore). But truth be told I’d been thinking about downsizing for a while.

I missed this size. I had kept my X for years and whenever I would get it out of its box I would love its size. The 13 Pro is so easy to hold (I also missed the flat sides). It fits pockets and everything else better. It’s easier for one handed typing). I don’t watch a lot of video on my phone but I do play hidden object games and that’s the only time I miss the larger screen.

I’m not going back to the plus phones.

I have one of each and will continue to do so, when I am out and about with my children I use the smaller phone to capture photos and videos. The larger I like for not sure why I don’t do anything on it more and drop it more often.

If I am drafting emails will always use the max. I guess it’s nice to have choices; I am going the again this year one of each.

I had a moment of madness and almost got two max variants. But then reminded my self that when I am out and about running or the gym I prefer taking my smaller phone.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max right now. Throughout the last year I have frequently thought 'damn, this phone is so large and unwieldy. too big. for the 14 I'm just going to get the regular size Pro.' Then I pick up my 13 (issued to me by my employer) and use it for a few minutes and while the size in the hand is certainly nicer and more manageable, I am immediately itching to get back to the big, beautiful screen of the Pro Max. Content feels so much more cramped on the 6.1" display to me, having gotten used to the larger 6.7".

I wish they'd make a "Goldilocks" ~6.4".

Edit: The battery life is also insane on the Pro Max. I really do appreciate that.

How will that work with the esim?

My work phone is a 13 max pro, my home phone is a 13 mini. The latter works so much better for carrying and just being conveniently small. I have no problems with the screen size. Mapping and battery life are better on the larger phone.

Always has the non plus versions but my friend has the 13 Pro Max and that bigger screen and better battery life is making me jealous. So upgrading the 12 Pro to a 14 Pro Max.

After having a Max phone for 3 years, I switched to the Pro for the 13 Pro and am so much happier. There’s really little to no difference in functionality as far as features or screen real estate, but the phone is so much more comfortable to hold and use.

I considered going back to a Pro Max, but went to try it in store and the 12/13 Pro Maxes are even bigger and harder and more uncomfortable to handle than my XS Max. It reminded me how exhausting the finger gymnastics of handling a large phone daily is. I ordered a 14 Pro and couldn’t be happier to stay with the smaller size (which is still big to me honestly). It didn’t make sense for me to go Max when the dynamic island would be even harder to reach, too.

Perhaps get a 13 mini, which would feel ridiculously small. Then in six months trade it in on a 14 pro...which would then feel gigantic!

;)
Got my 13 mini yesterday and it makes my 11 inch 2021 iPad Pro feel like a laptop.:D

It is all for the better. The 11 Pro Max was simple too comfortable to view content on and I would reach for it at every opportunity whether watching TV or even while using my iPad.

With the Mini I am using my iPad more often and feel a clear seperation between phone, tv and iPad.

Using my phone less for mindless scrolling on instagram will be better for me and those around me.

That’s part of my thinking too. I gave a 12.9 iPad Pro so my phone should really be doing less. As was discussed above about watching to etc, if I’m away on business and want to watch a film, I take the iPad with me
